What have you been up to so far in 2016? Tell me and you could win a Photo Booth for your wedding, hen party, or event!

08/01/2016 by Karen

Win-a-Photo-Booth
What have you been up to so far in 2016? For me it’s been all about family, food, and blogging (see my instagram feed  for more snippets!)

I’d love  you to  share  your photos of what you’ve been doing so far this year, by posting  them on social media using the hashtag #smashing2016.  What’s more, once uploaded,  you’ll be eligible to win an incredible luxury photo booth package (with all the bells and whistles) from the coolest photo booth guys around, Megabooth!

I’ve featured their photo booths on STG before (eg. at  Naomi & Michael’s wedstival wedding) and I had such a fun time with them back in November  at the Quintessentially Weddings Luxury Atelier  (see pic below!). So  I’m thrilled  to be teaming up with them today to offer you this oh-so-fabulous prize. And by the way, you don’t have to be planning a wedding  to be eligible to win. Anyone can enter whether you’re engaged, already married, or just dreaming of the future!

Megabooth’s fantastic photo booth selection includes photo booths built inside  retro cars, black (or white!) classic London taxis, and contemporary open style photo pods. The winner will also be given  a box of brilliant wedding props (choose from over 10,000!) for the duration of the photo booth hire, plus a glossy guestbook, and customised number plates to take home at the end of the evening.

Guests won’t leave empty handed either as the winning package  includes unlimited high quality instant photo prints —  the perfect mementoes from your wedding or event!

Fancy having a go at winning a booth for the night? Of course you do!

Win your wedding photography (worth £2450!) by the internationally acclaimed wedding photographer, Kate Nielen

13/11/2015 by Karen

Kate-Nielen-Photography-1
If you’re a sophisticated, creative couple who are  currently on the hunt for your perfect wedding photographer, let me  introduce you to the internationally acclaimed luxury fine art wedding photographer, Kate Nielen.

Based in London, but shooting weddings all over  the UK and beyond,  Kate  travels the world to photograph beautiful weddings with her distinctive dreamy, cinematic style.  Her gentle, fine art editorial approach creates timeless, luminous images that show her couples and their special day at their most romantic, natural and beautiful.

Kate works for the most discerning clients who appreciate photography and want the best wedding photography experience available, so  you can only imagine how thrilled I was when she asked if I’d host a competition  for her, and I was even more excited when she told me she wanted to very generously give away a completely FREE  wedding package together with an engagement shoot in London, to one lucky couple anywhere in the world. Wow – just WOW! If you’re getting married before July  2017 and you haven’t organised  your photographer yet, then today is most definitely your lucky day!

Even if you’re not fortunate  enough to win, Kate would like to offer every couple that enters 15% off their wedding photography if you then decide to go on and hire her  (but you  must book with her before 31st January 2016.)

Thank you so much Kate! Be sure to check out more of her work at  Kate Nielen Fine Art Photography.

I’m speaking at ‘Brides The Show’ and to celebrate I’m giving away 2 pairs of Gold VIP tickets and 20 pairs of White tickets!

10/09/2015 by Karen

Brides-The-Show
Attention  lovely  brides-to-be! I’m super excited to let you know that I’ve been invited by  Brides The Show  to give a talk  for the 2nd year in a row! After the success of last year’s session, I’m so excited to be speaking again — this time on Saturday  3rd October 2015 at 12.30pm — and I’m hoping to see lots  of your fabulous faces there.

The venue is the Business Design Centre in Islington, North London and, just like last year,  I’ll be sharing the sofa  with the lovely Charley from London Bride  (it seems our  partnership was such a hit last year, they asked us back for more!).

I’m a big fan of  Brides The Show  as everything has been carefully curated under one roof to help you plan your dream wedding in style. A trip to the show brings you  exclusive access to the very best in bridal, from dresses to diamonds, flowers and  cakes, as the event brings together top wedding experts and over 130 luxury suppliers.

Expect the freshest ideas, the highest quality craftsmanship and the very latest trends. With hundreds of luxury exhibitors — including STG-faves, Victoria Made  and Mary Jane Vaughan, you can tick every  item  off your wedding to-do list in style.

Win a romantic night for two in London’s breathtaking St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel

15/05/2015 by Karen

St-Pancras-Renaissance
Call me a romantic (or a bit geeky… either will do) but I’ve always had a fascination with that wonderful golden age of railways: the enchantment of travel, tearful goodbyes, joyful reunions… and the awe-inspiring gothic architecture that just blows you away.

And encapsulating all of this is the devastatingly impressive St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. I attended a beautiful Jewish wedding there, not long after its refurbishment (a dizzying £150 million was spent on the makeover!) — and was bowled over by its seductive mix of grandeur and contemporary chic.

Getting married here is nothing like your traditional hotel wedding. For a start, you can see the Eurostar from the bar (and I always get a shiver of excitement when I think of that thrilling connection to Parisian adventure). Fancy Paris straight after the nuptials? Just pop out, and hop on…

Win a luxury overnight stay at The Hospital Club, London’s coolest private members’ club and wedding venue

27/03/2015 by Karen

Hospital-Club
The Hospital Club
in London’s Covent Garden is the only private members’ club designed specifically for those in creative industries,  and as a  member since 2009, it’s been my ‘home from home’ for many years.

Founded by musician Dave Stewart, of Eurythmics fame,  and Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, the Hospital Club opened  in 2004, as a hub where creative types could create, connect, and collaborate. Spread over seven floors with stunning interiors including  cocktail bars, lounges, a restaurant, 36-seater cinema, TV studio, art gallery, and 15 extraordinary  bedrooms, it  caters  for creative  professionals  who are looking for something super cool, friendly and collaborative.

As well as being London’s hippest  private  members’ club, it’s also the perfect space for couples looking for somewhere really stylish  and different for their wedding venue.

It  boasts a range of versatile spaces each with its own unique style and flavour, as well as  a team of chefs and mixologists who can tailor-make and prepare the perfect menu (kosher or just  Jewish-friendly!) whatever your theme and budget.

A couple of months ago in  January 2015, fifteen  sumptuous  bedrooms were added to the mix which means that  for the first time ever the Hospital Club is  opening it’s doors to non-members. The rooms are luxuriously appointed with leathers, velvets, sumptuous woods and  jaw-dropping works of  contemporary art,  and I’m giving one lucky reader and their companion  the  chance to sneak in, party hard, and crash out in comfort in the Hospital Club’s top suite, complete with  dinner in the club restaurant, and breakfast the following morning.

The suite (a.k.a. the crash pad of your dreams) comes complete with a  private terrace, separate lounge area,  erotic minibar by Holloway Smith Noir, brain power tool kits by the School of Life, insider guides to London,  and a 7pm cocktail trolley with your own personal bartender!

For the duration of your stay, you’ll  also be able to make full use of all member privileges including the club’s 3D cinema, pool room, cocktails bars, and the enviable schedule of member events.
