An Alon Livné Bride for a Super Luxe Boho Beautiful Jewish Wedding at Four Seasons Westlake Village, California, USA

16/10/2017 by Karen

jewish wedding Four Seasons Westlake Village, California, USA_0046
Say WHAAAAT? That was our first, and very understandable, reaction to this sensational spread of images from Jasmin and Eliot’s absolutely ah-mazing Jewish wedding day.

After we were done rubbing our eyes in disbelief like cartoon characters, we managed to take in the divine details that made this big day so special. First of all, the unfathomably beautiful venue,  Four Seasons Westlake Village, which came with its own waterfall, the perfect setting for a shabbat pre-wedding celebration. No wonder they made a weekend out of it!

The waterfall was matched only by the epic, cascading floral arrangements, tumbling from tables, adorning the tipi-inspired chuppah – we’ve never seen anything quite like it, so you’d be forgiven for Pinning so fast your fingers start smoking a little.

Everything about this boho-beautiful big day was perfectly matched with the theme – the naked cake, the sweet, contemporary stationery, the aisle made from layered vintage rugs. There was not a dà©cor item out of place.

Beautiful bride, Jasmin, looked ridiculously incredible in her truly unique, showstopping Alon Livné beaded dress, and in her first-look gown, a really original photoshoot idea that we simply adore.

Speaking of photography, this stunner of a wedding was shot by an absolute photography legend, Jessica Claire, whose work we are thrilled and honored to feature on the blog. A wedding this luxe deserves nothing less than a photographer who can do it justice, and Jessica Claire did it justice and then some. We are in love!

We’ll hand you over to Jasmin for all of the details about how her and Eliot’s special day came together. Prepare yourselves for incoming wedding pretty – it’s a little overwhelming!

A shabbat dinner by the waterfall

Jasmin, the bride: We got married at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. It was the first place we visited, and the last place we circled back to after looking at over 10 venues.

I am from New York, and Eliot is from Orange Country, so we wanted a destination that was comfortable for our guests for the entire weekend. We threw a big shabbat dinner inside/outside by the waterfall, and Sunday brunch at the venue outside by the garden terrace.

A Super Luxe Floral Jewish Wedding in the Bride’s Parents’ Garden at Toorak, Melbourne, Australia

02/10/2017 by Karen

jewish wedding Toorak Melbourne Victoria
Before we get into the details of Samantha and Troy’s sensational super luxe Jewish wedding, there’s also something to be learned from the way that the happy couple met: always keep your eyes open – you could meet your soulmate anywhere. In this case, walking to your car!

Today’s wedding is a total feast for the eyes as bride Samantha owns a fashion business, and brought her own sense of style to the aesthetic of the day.

Samantha and Troy opted for a traditional white wedding at Samantha’s parents’ private residence in Melbourne, Australia. Adorned with an abundance of outstanding floral arrangements (THAT CHUPPAH!!) and styled to perfection, with not a detail missed, the day was so deliciously decadent, it really was the dictionary definition of a dream wedding – an absolute triumph for wedding planner, Styled by Coco.

The day, of course, ended with a bang – a lot of bangs, actually, in an out-of-this-world fireworks display.

The impact of the dà©cor, and parts of the firework display, can be lived vicariously through the stunning and cinematic video by Untitled Images, which also brings to life the heartfelt and loving speeches delivered by the couple’s devoted friends and family.

Bride Samantha looked straight from the pages of a glossy magazine in her breathtaking J’Aton Couture dress, flawless makeup and chic up ‘do.

Photographer Yervant Photography captured every moment with expert ease, and Samantha has provided us with the wonderful writeup below. Enjoy – and please DO Pin everything you love (that’s a lot of Pinning!)

How we met

Samantha, the bride: We bumped into each other on a Friday night in September 2013, Keilor Road, Niddrie. Literally – bumped into each other. I was walking to my car, and Troy was out getting a bite to eat, when I bumped into his chest and then remarked how tall he was. After a brief conversation, we decided to grab a bite to eat together, nachos. We ate, chatted and exchanged phone numbers and that was it that night.

We met up a couple of days later, struck up a conversation and decided to catch up again soon. A friendship was about to turn into a relationship.

A few weeks later, I went a holiday that had already been planned, and I was thinking about Troy the whole time I was away. Troy was missing me too. On my return, the friendship did become a relationship as we proclaimed our love for each other. Six months later we were living together… and here we are today!

A Nature-Themed Outdoor Jewish Wedding at Mpekweni Beach Resort, Eastern Cape, South Africa

29/09/2017 by Karen

Jewish wedding Mpekweni Beach Resort, Eastern Cape, South Africa_0023
Get your Pinning fingers ready, because today’s South African Jewish real wedding is an absolute beauty, and we guarantee you’ll want to steal pretty much all of it.

Inga and Jonathan chose a simple, clean outdoor theme, with a colour scheme of green, white and gold accents. With the emphasis on greenery, rather than big florals, the couple created a stunning, into-the-wild aesthetic which still managed to be totally chic and fresh.

Beautiful bride Inga looked like a Grecian goddess in her boho-style gown and flower crown, and I think we can all agree that she steals every photograph!

Speaking of which, we absolutely adore the whimsical and romantic-look images taken by fabulous photographer, Astrid Bradley Photography. Not only is every detail shot perfectly framed, but the emotion comes through so beautifully that you’ll feel like you were there.

There are some smashing ideas in here, including a wishes jar on each table for guests to write in. As there were 18 tables, the couple plans to open one jar a year for the next 18 anniversaries. Now that is self control!

We’re also totally up for a big day dance off! So much fun!

We’ll leave you with Inga now for the full writeup of her and Jonathan’s spectacular wedding day, but before we do, with Yom Kippur almost upon us, we just want to wish the Day of Atonement to be a meaningful day for you, no matter how or if you are observing it. Shabbat Shalom!

A relaxed, refined atmosphere

Inga, the bride: We got married at Mpekweni Beach Resort. We chose this beautiful venue for a number of reasons. Firstly, it holds significance to us as we spent some of our first holidays, beach walks and sunsets as a couple here. We also got engaged in a similar spot not too far down the coastline. We were attracted to the relaxed and refined atmosphere Mpekweni effortlessly provides (which is significantly due to the incredible management of Colin and Nicollette Whitehead).

We are both family orientated, and this venue allowed us to keep the feeling of a close family gathering without having to forgo anyone on the guest list. Moreover, our wedding was a weekend affair, as we wanted to take full advantage of having all our loved ones close by and there are few competitors to Mpekweni.

A Destination Jewish Wedding with a Beach Chuppah and Midnight Fire Dancers at Kempinski Hotel, Marbella, Spain

11/09/2017 by Karen

Jewish destination Kempinski Hotel, Marbella, Spain_0051
Perfect clear skies, a deep blue sea and one very happy Jewish couple form the ingredients for today’s gorgeous Marbella real wedding.

Childhood friends, Steph and John, reunited in 2014 and, in the infamous words of one of our favourite movies, Fiddler on the Roof “from such children come other children”. Together they have a gorgeous son, Joey, and their beautiful Spanish wedding consolidated that commitment.

Their theme was a white wedding with accents of silver and blush in the floral arrangements and bridesmaids’ dresses. The white color scheme added to the serene atmosphere of the day – just look at that chuppah against the beautiful seaside backdrop!

Beautiful bride, Steph, showcased her fabulous tattoos in a stunning lace-illusion Pronovias gown, with old Hollywood hair and makeup completing the look.

The big day ended with a bang – or a blaze, with surprise midnight fire dancers! Fantastic!

Of course, like so many STG weddings, one of our brilliant Recommended Vendors was involved. outstanding photographer, Jeremy Standley, is responsible for the sensational spread of images below. And, if that wasn’t enough, it’s supplemented by an absolutely sensational, atmospheric and beautifully filmed wedding video by Antonio de Perez.

We’ll leave you in Steph’s capable hands now for all of the divine details – over to Steph!

How we met

Steph, the bride: I’m from Manchester originally, and my mum knew John’s mum, Pauline from before we moved to Spain. They actually lived on the next road from me, and our sisters were friends!

I was up in Manchester for a wedding in 2014 with my mum and dad, and we bumped into Pauline in a shop, having lost touch for years. They suggested we should meet up for a drink sometime, and it all happened from there! Continue ReadingContinue Reading

An Amsale Bride for a Summer Camp-Themed Jewish Wedding at Kamp Kohut, Oxford, Maine, US

14/08/2017 by Karen

Jewish Wedding Kamp Kohut Oxford Maine USA
Gather round the campfire and get those s’mores on the go, because we have Julie and Greg’s summer camp-themed Jewish wedding to tell you about this sunny Monday morning!

It is fitting that this gorgeous wedding was submitted by videographer Daniel at Latimer Studios, because we’re big enough to admit that the wedding video (below) genuinely made us ugly cry.

We’ll get to the aesthetics of this very beautiful big day in a moment, but first, what struck us so profoundly about Julie and Greg as a couple was their charm, their intelligence, their sparkling sense of humour and their deep and sincere love for one another. Watching their cinematic wedding film, it’s abundantly evident that they are the real deal and then some. With such articulate loved ones speaking so eloquently about the happy couple, we’re treated to a real insight into their unique and wonderful connection to one another, and we feel privileged to watch.

Julie and Greg planned a fun summer camp theme at Kamp Kohut in Oxford, Maine, which is run by the bride’s parents. The theme juxtaposed the venue’s natural leafy greens, with a pretty pastel color scheme and stunning metallic accents (that CAKE!) and fabulous florals (that CHUPPAH!!).

The couple described their meaningful Jewish ceremony as a ‘dream ceremony’, which is just a delight to hear. The day was bursting with personal meaning – a prime example of how to do things your way, and make a wedding all about who you are as a couple.

We’ll hand over to beautiful bride, Julie, for her full writeup on the day, along with the fabulous spread of images by photographer, Lara Kimmerer. Enjoy!

How we met

Julie, the bride: We met on the dating app, Hinge. We both swiped right on each other, and began our conversation. We had three friends in common, so that helped us feel more comfortable.

Our first date was over coffee and sweets at a coffee shop in Los Angeles, and from there we were off to the races. We very quickly knew that we had found our person.

After two months, we were both thinking to ourselves that we would marry this person. After six months, we decided to move in together. We got engaged at a year, and then married a year later. Our officiant was one of our mutual friends from Hinge, Benji Samit.
