How to Make Your Wedding Wow: You Dream It and Extraordinary Wedding Planner Jenna Keller Will Create It…

15/03/2017 by Karen

Jenna-Keller-EventsIt’s officially spring, and I don’t know about you but I’m so ready to see a bit more colour. Goodbye grey skies, hello blue!

You’ve just got to love this time of year, with the season’s natural beauty popping with pastels and bursting with vivacity. It’s so incredibly romantic. And with energy, romance and colour in mind – I’m can’t wait to introduce you to a supremely creative, innovative, and exciting wedding planner – Jenna Keller.

Jenna Keller EventsJenna Keller Events_0291Jenna Keller EventsJenna Keller – Manchester born but raised in South Florida – is the ultimate event superstar. She is the brains and beauty behind Jenna Keller Events – a creative, dynamic company, based in gorgeous Cheshire, working on weddings and events all across the UK and abroad.

Jenna and her team specialise in the full management and production of truly memorable events. Transforming ordinary spaces into the extraordinary — think suspended floral installations and chandeliers — she does drama. She brings the buzz and creates the wow moments but behind the scenes Jenna is exceptionally meticulous and detail led.

Jenna Keller entered the event scene working for Celia Clyne, one of the largest kosher caterers in the UK. She successfully ran their events – a mere 200 a year – and well and truly earned her stripes. That wealth of experience paved the way for Jenna to create her own event company.

Jenna Keller EventsJenna Keller Events_0308Why Jenna Keller?

Jenna Keller is now one of the most renowned and sought after wedding planners in the UK. And for good reason. Her incredible experience, microscopic attention to detail, creativity, passion and USA-level of customer service has got Jenna a pretty darn good reputation.

She puts her heart and soul into every single wedding. In fact Jenna is so dedicated, that she even met her husband through her work. According to former boss, kosher caterer Celia Clyne, it couldn’t have been any other way.

Facebook Live Catch Up: Wedding Photography with Blake Ezra

25/02/2017 by Karen

Blake-Ezra-Karen-Cinnamon-Smashing-The-Glass
On Wednesday, I went ‘Facebook Live’ alongside my much-loved Smashing Supplier, Blake Ezra, for the second episode of our exciting new monthly show especially for the STG worldwide community.

This month it was a ‘Wedding Photography’ special and you all LOVED it!  We answered so many great questions including why photographers vary so much in price, how to go about choosing a wedding photographer, the most stand-out moment of Blake’s photography career (and no it wasn’t Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding that he also photographed), and of course his EPIC beard.

If you missed it, you can still catch up by watching the replay below. Blake was second to none and handed out so much useful advice and photography nuggets you’d be mad not to watch it (again and again!) and catch every last word. We also revealed a BIG exclusive towards the end.

We planned to be live for around 30 minutes but we max-ed out to just over an hour, and even then we couldn’t get through all your brilliant questions. Thank you for being such a fabulous audience — Blake has promised to answer any unanswered questions in the comments section of the video, plus we have a second instalment up our sleeve! Watch this space…

This was the second in a monthly episode of STG shows that will be aired live on the last Wednesday of every month on Facebook at 8pm GMT(that’s 3pm EST, 12pm PST, and 10pm in Israel) to coincide with #WeddingWednesday.

Next month’s show is going out on Wednesday 29th March 2017, and I’ll be joined by one of the best make up artists in the industry, the gorgeous Philippa Louise, for a ‘Wedding Beauty Q&A’ live show. More details nearer the time… Happy Weekend everyone!

Create the perfect destination wedding with Tel Aviv dream team – Made in Israel Events

22/02/2017 by Karen

Made-In-Israel-EventsAn occupational highlight of my job (apart from taking over The Savoy) is that I get to meet exciting, new companies starting out on the wedding scene, before most. It’s such a fabulous dream factory of an industry and I love finding the new talent-brimming with fresh ideas. I’ve always been a what’s-the-next-big-thing girl.

Made in Israel Events are the (relatively) new wedding organisers on the Tel Aviv wedding circuit. They’re a breath of fresh air in the form of two friends Lior and Yael.

Made in Israel Events_0002They’re event planners who specialise in producing destination weddings all over Israel. With special consideration to Anglo tastes. They’ll create an amazing big day for you – without you having to worry about language barriers or negotiating with Israeli vendors. And apart from that huge logistical sigh of relief — they also bring style inspiration for a thoroughly modern wedding.

Made In Israel EventsMade In Israel EventsDestination Wedding in Israel

Here at STG we adore Israeli weddings. Aside from its cultural meaning, Israel is a place where the sun shines almost every day of the year; it’s beautiful, exotic, energetic and fun. Perfection.

Yael’s overseas family who came to her own wedding in Israel were head over heels in love with the venue, food and of course the atmosphere. And that’s when it dawned on her that there’s a great interest in destination weddings in Israel. People want to have the ultimate Jewish wedding with an Israeli touch.

Get all your Wedding Photography Questions answered tomorrow in February’s STG Facebook Live Show

21/02/2017 by Karen

Blake-Ezra-Karen-Cinnamon
Did you join us for January’s STG Facebook Live show? It was as much fun as you can have with an iPhone and STG readers joining in from all over the world, so to say that I’m super excited for tomorrow’s February episode is a bit of an understatement!

The show will air live from my home to the Smashing The Glass Facebook page tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd February at 8pm GMT (that’s 3pm EST, 12pm PST, and 10pm in Israel).

This month it’s a Wedding Photography Special and I’m lucky enough be joined by Blake Ezra, one of the UK’s most sought after wedding photographers (he covered the Royal Wedding of Kate and William no less) and his work is very regularly featured on the pages of STG.

Blake and I want to answer ALL your burning wedding questions, big or small:

  • Perhaps you’re wondering what you should be asking your potential wedding photographer?
  • Or whether you should be having an unplugged wedding?
  • Or why wedding photographers vary so much in price?
  • Or perhaps you’re not particularly confident in front of the camera and would like some tips?

Blake and I are ready to help! Just pop over to the STG Facebook page and submit your question(s) as a comment on this thread and we’ll answer as many of them as we can on the show. If you prefer to submit a question by email in advance you can do that too — just shoot me a message to karen@smashingtheglass.com.

In addition, as I do with all the monthly shows, I’ll be giving you the lowdown on what’s been going on behind the scenes at Smashing The Glass this month and let you in on the latest news and gossip from the world of Jewish weddings!

I’ll also be announcing the winner of our Laura Mercier STG Survey competition. Thank you so much to all of you that filled out the survey and gave me the most valuable insights that have already began to shape the future of Smashing The Glass.

This is the second episode of our exciting monthly Facebook Live show especially for the STG worldwide community. The show airs on the last Wednesday of each month on the Smashing The Glass Facebook page at 8pm GMT to coincide with #WeddingWednesday.

Looking for a candid, creative wedding photographer? We’ve found him…

19/02/2017 by Karen

Ran-Bergman-Wedding-Photography-IsraelSo, is that loved-up selfie you took on Valentines Day still your screensaver? Did you go filter crazy until you got the perfect, natural, image. We’ve all been there.

But your wedding is one day you really don’t want to be critical of your photographs. And you definitely wont have the chance to personally edit them as you go along. In fact, you have to place a huge amount of trust in your wedding photographer — after all you won’t see the finished product until after the event.

Ran Bergman Wedding Photographer Israel Ran Bergman Wedding Photographer Israel_0142Ran Bergman Wedding Photographer IsraelRan Bergman Wedding Photographer IsraelSo, to make a considered selection, that means:

  1. Studying the photographer’s website
  2. Checking their artistic style
  3. Seeing if their personality works for you
  4. Comparing costs.

All are super-important to find ‘the one’.

Ran Bergman’s got it all

Today, I’d love to help you get to grips with a photographer we’re LOVING at STG, Ran Bergman. In fact I’m blogging a fabulous real Jewish wedding of his next month that will make your jaws drop… and what’s more, for me he sails through with flying colours on all of those points above.

The Man behind the Lens

Based in Israel, Ran photographs weddings all over the world. He LOVES people and he LOVES photography. This is a heady mix for a wedding snapper.
