17/02/2021 by Smashing The Glass

Sarah will be marrying Rich on 19th June 2022 at Tikitano Beach, Marbella, Spain. Click here to read all Sarah’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Sarah knew Rich was the one when he brought a gift of dog treats for her toy poodle Nuala along to their fourth date! (2) They are crafting an amazing destination wedding weekend in Marbella with beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended vendor optimum weddings as their planner. (3) Sarah is a member of  Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

In my last blog I mentioned how we had decided to get a backup date in place for 2022 and how we hoped it was just a “formality”. Well, the good news is that it was a sensible idea, the less exciting news is that it was less of a formality and more of a necessity! In January of this year we made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding one last time.

Needless to say, neither Richard or I can predict the future, but we felt that it was the safer option for many reasons. We have waited so long for our dream wedding, so in reality, one more year is not the end of the world to us.

When planning a covid wedding nothing is ever simple. Right now we are still trying to figure out when we are going to do our legal ceremony. Italy is still on for 2022. I think we are going to do early spring. I keep having this fear that all of the things we planned are never going to happen.

Real Jewish Brides: Charlotte on 81 Days to Go!

03/02/2021 by Smashing The Glass

Charlotte will be marrying Adam on 25th April 2021 at Swynford Manor in Newmarket, UK. Click here to read all Charlotte’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Adam proposed to Charlotte on holiday in Cyprus (2) Charlotte and Adam met at work in London (3) Charlotte is a member of STG Brides Club!

As the clock turned midnight and we started 2021 I looked to Adam and said, we’re getting married this year, hopefully!

Staying home to protect ourselves, our family and our friends we start to think about the next few months and what they’re going to bring. With only 3 months to go until our original Wedding Day we are trying to keep ourselves motivated and keep planning and preparing as much as we can. Whilst we are slowly getting things to do ticked off the list there is a constant nagging thought on both our minds of, but what if we can’t get married on our chosen date?

Wedding planning is in full force again. With only 5 months left till the big day things are starting to be put into motion.  As many of my friends and family already know our save the dates went out at the end of December.

They are beautiful and classic, going right along with the theme of our wedding, all thanks to the talents of Abbie Rudolph of Abbie Takes Pictures  for our amazing photograph on the save the dates and our friend Leah Sachs of Leah E Moss Designs who designed the whole save the date and will be continuing with our invitations, signage, as well as the big item, our ketubah.

Real Jewish Brides: Introducing Chris + Ariel: How They Met To The Present Day…

20/01/2021 by Smashing The Glass

Today on the blog we’re introducing our latest gorgeous crop of 2021 Real Jewish Brides! Please give a warm welcome to Chris, who will be marrying Ariel on 6th June 2021 in Chris’ Aunt and Uncle’s front yard.

THREE FACTS: (1) Ariel proposed to Chris in November 2020 (2) Chris swiped right on Ariel and the rest is history! (3) Chris + Ariel will be having an intimate 10-person wedding.

How We Met

Every week in 2018 (and every week since up until the pandemic hit) I would go to dinner at Caitlin and Topher’s house. I introduced them and they have now been together for over a decade. She always said she wanted to return the favor, so one day after dinner I handed her my phone to swipe for me. Caitlin, having never done online dating herself, and now having two small children, squealed at the idea of doing an activity that had nothing to do with Baby Shark or Superheros.

She swiped right on Ariel and it was a match. I sent the first message and we decided to meet for tacos by the waterfront in Downtown Boston. When Ariel walked in it was clearly her, but her photos had not done her justice. We sat down, and I honestly don’t remember much of the first date. I was half nervous and half exhausted from a decade of online dating that had never worked out. But Ariel thought I was very tall, very funny, and the date flowed really well.

After we left the restaurant I took her hand as we walked to the train and it felt like home. I hugged her goodnight and told her to text me when she got home.
