Share the Love and Build a Future with Ohel Sarah’s One Heart Marriage Programme

16/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

I’m so excited to share a wonderful opportunity to share the love and gratitude you’re feeling as you gear up for your big day: giving to the One Heart Marriage Programme, run by Ohel Sarah, one of Israel’s largest providers of services for children and adults with disabilities.

Based on the basic premise that everyone should have the chance to find love — and that people with disabilities deserve access to the same opportunities as everyone else —  Ohel Sarah started the One Heart programme in order to support high-functioning individuals with cognitive disabilities in marrying and establishing a home together.

One Heart helps engaged couples prepare for married life, teaching skills from money management to housekeeping to interpersonal communication and often helps fund their weddings, too. After marriage, the organization continues to provide guidance to couples as they navigate married life and supports them in living independently in the community, in an apartment of their own.

Hedsor House: A Stylish Buckinghamshire Country House Venue Perfect for Your Jewish Wedding

11/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

The struggle is real: you’ve always dreamed of an idyllic, secluded countryside wedding, but also need a venue where the team knows a chuppah from a hora.

I hear you. It’s not always easy planning a UK Jewish wedding when you’re not going for that big city feel, between kosher catering, easy transportation for guests, and all the other considerations that come into choosing a venue for a Jewish wedding. But there are a handful of fantastic venues out there that let you have your cake (or scone?) and eat it too.

Like Hedsor House, an incredible Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor in the heart of the English countryside, yet only 45 minutes from London. Located in the beautiful Thames Valley, Hedsor House’s Buckinghamshire location embodies that classic English country house splendour with its magnificent Georgian architecture, elegant decor, and sprawling grounds. It’s truly a special backdrop for your big day.

Hedsor House regularly hosts luxury Jewish weddings, and the events team are total pros at handling all the special details that go into a Jewish wedding. Whether your ceremony is Orthodox or Jew-ish, they know what to do — and they’ll be there with you every step of the way, with their mega-attentive service ensuring your ideas are brought to life and your big day runs smoothly.

Facebook Live Catch Up: Luxe Wedding Dress Trends for 2019/20 – Live from Mirror Mirror London

07/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

I’m so excited to share with you my latest Facebook Live from one of the world’s most gorgeous bridal boutiques, London’s Mirror Mirror (a much-loved Recommended Vendor), I was lucky enough to meet with co-founders Maria and Jane, sisters-in-law who started their business 30 years ago out of a shared passion for artisan bridal fashion, and we had wonderful Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Adrian Stone behind the camera.

These two inspirational ladies, who I got to know after noticing that so many of our STG Real Brides bought their gowns from Mirror Mirror, are both designers and stockists of some of the hottest international bridal designers, including Nurit Hen, Hayley Paige, YolanCris, Gemy Maalouf, and Atelier Pronovias. So who better to talk us through the top luxury wedding dress trends for 2019/20?

We had the amazing Reportage Gallery on hand to sneak some behind-the-scenes photos. They were a joy to work with, and I’m absolutely delighted to share the images they snapped with you!

Maria and Jane started off showing us some stunning dresses from their own Mirror Mirror Couture collection. We saw some totally gorgeous gowns and chatted about some of the top bridal trends for the coming year.

A Diary of the First Year Of Marriage

19/03/2019 by Smashing The Glass

This is a guest post by Mel Islin, STG Blogging Bride. and a member of STG’s Brides Club.
Her 1 year wedding anniversary was yesterday, 18 March!

Our first year of marriage – by Mel Islin

Our first year of marriage. Even just writing it is mad. It feels like just yesterday I was writing my very first blog as a Smashing the Glass blogging bride, introducing myself and Mitch to all you lovely lot. That was nearly 2 years ago (May 2017)! People say you should enjoy your engagement because the wedding comes around quick, they say you should enjoy your planning because the wedding day is over in a flash… but no one tells you how fast time goes after the wedding.
