A Mikaella Bridal Bride for a Jewish Persian American Spring-Themed Wedding at Avenue, Tel Aviv, Israel

27/10/2017 by Karen

Jewish wedding at Avenue, Tel Aviv, Israel_0002
Oh my goodness, there is SO much to gush about today’s gorgeous Jewish Tel Aviv wedding. First of all WHAT A CHUPPAH! What a setting for a spring-themed wedding, under a beautiful white chuppah, adorned with greenery and roses. So romantic.

Gabrielle and Tomer met in LA and decided that a wedding in the Holy Land was the only way to go. Planning the whole thing from overseas must have had its challenges, but just look at those stunning results!

The wedding hashtag #TheJooons, was just one way the happy couple paid homage to Gabrielle’s Persian/American heritage. We won’t spoil that story, or the rest, for you, you’ll have to read on, but we’re already in love with these brilliant traditions.

Photographer Eyal Zalzberg didn’t just capture the mood and story of the day, but also created some SERIOUSLY incredible images around Tel Aviv’s trendy neighorhoods, and we’re simply head over heels for the romantic and dreamy wedding highlights film by videographer Nati Shoko.

We’ll pass you on to Gabrielle for all of the planning details – we’d say “get Pinning”, but we’re pretty sure you won’t be able to stop yourselves anyway!

How we met

Gabrielle, the bride: We first met online in Los Angeles (the good, old-fashioned, new way). We talked for a couple months off and on through texting and email before we even decided to meet in person. Our first date was at a bar in Santa Monica, and the rest is history.

An Alon Livné Bride for a Super Luxe Boho Beautiful Jewish Wedding at Four Seasons Westlake Village, California, USA

16/10/2017 by Karen

jewish wedding Four Seasons Westlake Village, California, USA_0046
Say WHAAAAT? That was our first, and very understandable, reaction to this sensational spread of images from Jasmin and Eliot’s absolutely ah-mazing Jewish wedding day.

After we were done rubbing our eyes in disbelief like cartoon characters, we managed to take in the divine details that made this big day so special. First of all, the unfathomably beautiful venue,  Four Seasons Westlake Village, which came with its own waterfall, the perfect setting for a shabbat pre-wedding celebration. No wonder they made a weekend out of it!

The waterfall was matched only by the epic, cascading floral arrangements, tumbling from tables, adorning the tipi-inspired chuppah – we’ve never seen anything quite like it, so you’d be forgiven for Pinning so fast your fingers start smoking a little.

Everything about this boho-beautiful big day was perfectly matched with the theme – the naked cake, the sweet, contemporary stationery, the aisle made from layered vintage rugs. There was not a dà©cor item out of place.

Beautiful bride, Jasmin, looked ridiculously incredible in her truly unique, showstopping Alon Livné beaded dress, and in her first-look gown, a really original photoshoot idea that we simply adore.

Speaking of photography, this stunner of a wedding was shot by an absolute photography legend, Jessica Claire, whose work we are thrilled and honored to feature on the blog. A wedding this luxe deserves nothing less than a photographer who can do it justice, and Jessica Claire did it justice and then some. We are in love!

We’ll hand you over to Jasmin for all of the details about how her and Eliot’s special day came together. Prepare yourselves for incoming wedding pretty – it’s a little overwhelming!

A shabbat dinner by the waterfall

Jasmin, the bride: We got married at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. It was the first place we visited, and the last place we circled back to after looking at over 10 venues.

I am from New York, and Eliot is from Orange Country, so we wanted a destination that was comfortable for our guests for the entire weekend. We threw a big shabbat dinner inside/outside by the waterfall, and Sunday brunch at the venue outside by the garden terrace.

A Rustic Chic Jewish barn wedding at Heaton House Farm in the Cheshire countryside, UK

06/09/2016 by Karen

Rustic-Chic-Jewish-Wedding-Heaton-House-Farm
Meredith & David  have got the balance of rustic AND glamorous just right. The combination of gorgeous wild flowers, pastel  tones and personal touches,  alongside the beautiful barn  setting of Heaton House Farm in the  Cheshire  countryside is utterly perfect.

Meredith is American, and David is British but they both live in NYC now, so this is actually a Jewish destination wedding in the UK! Their W Day  is  bursting at the seams with thoughtful details, elegance and fun, like the bride’s sky  high pink Prada heels, a beautiful lopsided wedding cake (read on to hear the story behind that!), a meaningful ceremony,  and girls on roller skates giving out shots at  the after party! F-U-N !

Something that really touched me was hearing about a keychain made by the bridesmaids for Meredith depicting her beloved brother and stepfather who had tragically passed away some years before the wedding. Meredith attached the keychain  to her bouquet for the wedding day itself, and to this day,  carries it on her keys for a  beautiful daily reminder of her  wedding and her brother and stepdad.

Enjoy this sweet treat of a wedding — it’s romantic and whimsical but also sleek and stylish. And looks effortlessly so at that.  All of the  fabulousness was captured by STG regulars,  Reportage Gallery, with the most gorgeous film by Minty Slippers at the end.

How we met

Meredith, the Bride: Dave  is British (he’s from Manchester) and I’m American (born and raised in New York) and we  met though a mutual friend. My brother’s friend introduced me to his wife, who is from Manchester. We became friendly and she set me up with dave.  This is really meaningful to us, as Dave never got  to  meet my brother Gregg, who passed away in 2008. In a way, it feels like Gregg brought Dave into my life. Dave reminds me a lot of my brother and having this connection to my brother is very special.

A laidback Israeli wedding at Kalamata and Neve Schechter Center, at Neve Tzedek and Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel

08/07/2016 by Karen

modern-tel-aviv-wedding
Orit and Ido  had a simple, contemporary wedding with a calming subtle blue colour scheme  that was  small, intimate, informal, and unquestionably stylish.

They decided to do away with many wedding traditions in favour of creating a day that reflected them as a couple as well as making it an amazing experience for all their friends and family, and I have to say that looking at their super stylish photos it definitely made for the most wonderful, personal  day.

On the fashion side, I’m totally coveting Orit’s  custom-designed dress  and those beautiful  bronze shoes  — the perfect accompaniment to the  scenic backdrop of sunnies  skies and golden  beaches.

I love how tuned in these two  were to their own desires and so much so, they chose not one but three different venues that they frequent regularly.  One of them,  Dallal, is one of my all-time favourite Tel Aviv brunch spots so I’m super happy to be featuring it today on  the blog!

With thanks to the lovely Danielle from  Danielle Yashar Photography  for submitting the eye candy. Happy Friday  folks!

A wedding that reflected us and the things we love doing

Orit, the Bride: As we started planning our wedding, it was clear to us that we wanted it to be our day. For us that meant doing things we like the most, surrounded by our family and closest friends.

We wanted our event to be intimate and we wanted to have the opportunity to spend time with each one of our guests. We started our morning in the Dallal Bakery at Neve Tzedek where we regularly meet  friends for coffee at the  weekend. We strolled along the beach to Jaffa, which is so beautiful at this time of the year, and there we met our family for a brunch at Kalamata  restaurant (one of our favourite restaurants) which is located in old Jaffa over looking the Mediterranean sea.

Just before Shabbat we gathered our family and closest friends in a nearby synagogue at Neve Schechter-Legacy Heritage Center for our chuppah. After the exchange of rings we kissed our family goodbye and returned to Kalamata for a festive and upbeat lunch with our friends. To close the day, we invited everybody to a private concert by one of our favourite artists and whilst taking in  the sunset at  the Old Jaffa Port.
