A Colorful Jewish Destination Wedding with an Ellis Bridal Gown at ‘the Q’, Kibbutz Galil Yam, Herzliya, Israel

14/07/2017 by Karen

067-Destination Jewish Wedding The Q Kibbutz Galil Yam Herzliya Israel

Roxy and Adam faced a wonderful dilemma about where to tie the knot. Both with such international backgrounds, they ultimately decided it made sense to bring their loved ones to beautiful Israel for a divine destination wedding, filled with color, love and happiness.

First of all, before we get to anything else, we have to stop and take in that magnificent creation of a chuppah – what an abundantly floral beauty it was! WOW!

We were also blown away by the sheer amount of heart – how well Roxy and Adam got to know their Rabbi before the big day, and Roxy’s beautiful way of remembering her father, who had sadly passed away.

The wedding was shot by internationally renowned photographer, and one of our beloved STG Recommended Vendors, Herschel Gutman, who did a sublime job of bringing the wedding to life. Roxy and Adam also took some time with him the following day to fit in an additional couples’ shoot.

We’ll hand you over to Roxy now for her wonderful write up – we hope you love her and Adam’s gorgeous wedding as much as we do!

A magical outdoor venue

Roxy, the bride: We got married at The Q, Kibbutz Glil Yam in Herzliya Israel. We knew we wanted to have a destination wedding, with both families coming from different places (mine originally South African and then Australia and my husband’s mostly from England and many overseas guests). Israel was the most logical choice for us.

Being originally from South Africa, I really wanted to get married in a natural setting rather than in a hotel or indoor space. When we saw the Q, we just loved the look and feel of it. Particularly being outside and in the open air, it just ticked all the boxes. It was truly a magical venue.

A DIY ‘Jew-Bu’ Wedding at The Wildflower Barn, Driftwood, Texas, USA

07/07/2017 by Karen

Jewish Wedding The Wildflower Barn Driftwood Texas USA_0018
There’s no two ways about it, Rachel and Michael’s gorgeous Texas Jew-Bu wedding ticks all of the STG boxes. Creative? Tick. Cool? Tick. Unique? Tick. Emotional? Tick. The couple’s quirky, alternative vibe was evident in every little detail.

With a little help from some very crafty friends, acupuncturist-moonlighting-as-an-office-manager, Rachel and product manager / DJ, Michael put their personalities into all of the DIY touches, from their origami cranes to their Tibetan prayer flag chuppah, their sunflower centerpieces to their gorgeous home baked cakes, courtesy of a friend.

Rachel looked every bit the beautiful bride in her stunning, textured Theia Couture gown, chosen for its immense huggability (totally a word), which we think is just adorable. We also have total style envy over her cute cat-eye makeup look and lashes!

The day was recorded for the ages by fabulous photographer, Caitlin McWeeney, we hope you enjoy the images, and Rachel’s brilliant write up, as much as we did.

How we met

Rachel, the bride: We met at a party in May of 2008. Michael was DJing. I danced. The rest is history!

A Pronovias Bride for a Sunshine-Filled Jewish Destination Wedding at Marbella Club, Spain

30/06/2017 by Karen

Destination Jewish Wedding Marbella Club Spain_0047
Grab a suitcase, and some sunscreen (that’s the Jewish mother in us), because we’re heading back to Marbella today for another stunning real wedding in the Spanish sunshine.

Francesca and Mark met in a friend’s kitchen, and it was love at first sight. The pair tied the knot in Marbella, as the Marbella Club is a home away from home for the bride and her family.

The beautiful big day was a proper holiday celebration – with sun, sea and personalized fans for favors. The magical night ended with a spectacular fireworks display – what more could you ask for?

If you wish you had been there, never fear – along with the gorgeous stills by Paul Toeman Photographers, this beautiful video from our much-loved Recommended Vendor, videographer Denee Motion, will make you feel like you were part of the action!

Over to Francesca for the full write up of the moment she and hubby Mark said “I do”!

How we met

Francesca, the bride: The magical day Mark and I met was just before Christmas 10 years ago at a friend’s home. I walked into the kitchen and saw the man of my dreams sitting there. Instantly, sparks flew, and it was love at first sight.

An intimate traditional-meets-modern orthodox Jewish wedding with a Monique Lhuillier bride at The Fort Garry Hotel, Winnipeg, Canada

09/06/2017 by Karen

Jewish Wedding The Fort Garry Hotel Winnipeg Canada--16
Wrap up warm, everybody, today’s real wedding comes to you from the deepest of winter in Winnipeg, Canada, submitted by beautiful bride, Lindsay.

With limited Jewish community resources, David, a doctor (a Jewish doctor – living the dream) and dance choreographer, Lindsay, were determined to plan their perfect modern orthodox day, and through the powers of persuasion, imagination and determination, that’s exactly what they did.

David and Lindsay proved that it’s not about what denomination of Judaism you follow, nor how observant you are – at the end of the day, our shared community and spirit is what matters.

The theme was clean, elegant and white with an abundance of flowers and candles (I mean, look at that chuppah – and the seven-tier ruffled cake. Divine!). It was a small, intimate day with just 75 guests and a heartwarming focus on the importance of family. The chic big day was captured by photographer and a close friend of the bride, Kristen Sawatzky.

Lindsay looked simply divine in her Monique Lhuillier, with its adorable, quirky bow detail and sheer veil covering her during the chuppah ceremony.

Over to Lindsay for the rest of the details – take it away, Lindsay!

How we met

Lindsay, the bride: How we met was the greatest shidduch, in my opinion. Three separate active Jewish families in the Winnipeg community strived to set up the Jewish doctor from Montreal with a successful professional dance choreographer, Winnipeg born and raised. They all thought we would be the perfect match.

After several phone calls and emails, we finally met on a blind date at Starbucks! That was five and a half years ago. Soul mates we truly are, it was completely beshert. Our lives changed for the better and we can’t imagine our lives without each other.

A chic Israeli wedding with a Tali & Marianna gown at The Q, Galil Yam, Israel

03/03/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Tali-&-Marianna-Tel-Aviv-Wedding
In true Israeli style, Liron and Rotem’s elegant outdoor wedding was all about family. For beautiful bride, Rotem, the only thing that truly mattered was having her loved ones around her as she married the man of her dreams.

With such a breathtaking venue, not much embellishment was needed. The wedding was tastefully understated, with a real focus on creating an amazing atmosphere, fabulous food and partying late into the night.

Glamourous Rotem looked every bit the red-carpet siren in her stunning Tali & Marianna gown, which was custom made for her by the Tel Aviv designer.

We love the story of the special video that Rotem’s father made for the happy couple — simply adorable and totally worth looking out for.

All of the joy, tears and laughter were captured by Smashing Supplier Dror Einav with whom Rotem and Liron had a special rapport.

We’ll pass you over to Rotem now for all the details on her and Liron’s big day. Take it away, Rotem!

How we met

Rotem, the bride: We met when we both were in the Israeli navy. We were a group of friends from the base that hung out together a lot of nights and one night he called me to come visit him on his ship. I came as a friend and didn’t really think about him like that, but the rest is history: I just fell in love.
