A chic Israeli wedding with a Tali & Marianna gown at The Q, Galil Yam, Israel

03/03/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Tali-&-Marianna-Tel-Aviv-Wedding
In true Israeli style, Liron and Rotem’s elegant outdoor wedding was all about family. For beautiful bride, Rotem, the only thing that truly mattered was having her loved ones around her as she married the man of her dreams.

With such a breathtaking venue, not much embellishment was needed. The wedding was tastefully understated, with a real focus on creating an amazing atmosphere, fabulous food and partying late into the night.

Glamourous Rotem looked every bit the red-carpet siren in her stunning Tali & Marianna gown, which was custom made for her by the Tel Aviv designer.

We love the story of the special video that Rotem’s father made for the happy couple — simply adorable and totally worth looking out for.

All of the joy, tears and laughter were captured by Smashing Supplier Dror Einav with whom Rotem and Liron had a special rapport.

We’ll pass you over to Rotem now for all the details on her and Liron’s big day. Take it away, Rotem!

How we met

Rotem, the bride: We met when we both were in the Israeli navy. We were a group of friends from the base that hung out together a lot of nights and one night he called me to come visit him on his ship. I came as a friend and didn’t really think about him like that, but the rest is history: I just fell in love.

Choosing to get married at The Q

We got married at The Q in Galil Yam. We wanted to get married there because it’s a beautiful place. They have an amazing garden and decorations, the food feels like it’s from a restaurant, rather than catering, and the staff really make you feel like you’re special.

Natural hair and makeup with a touch of red carpet glamour

For hair and makeup, I wanted to go simple. In my day-to-day life, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so I knew I wanted it to look like I wasn’t wearing a lot of makeup, while also having my eyes pop cause they’re blue and so black eyeliner would accentuate them. For my hair, I just asked the stylist to create a natural side-swept look with a touch of red carpet glamour.

A wow-factor Tali & Marianna gown

My dress was made by the amazing Tali & Marianna studio in Tel Aviv. From an early age, I knew what my dress would look like. I always pictured it being very simple but with presence and something that would give it a wow factor.

This studio was the second I went to and when I got there, I immediately had a good feeling. Tali and I spoke and 10 minutes later she just assembled a dress from nothing on me based on what I described to her.

When I stepped out and my mum and good friend started crying, I just knew it was the one. This was the dress. I felt like this dress was meant to be mine.

Understated Swarovski jewellery

I didn’t want to wear a lot of jewellery, so I wore a bracelet from Swarovski that Liron gave me a few years ago, is special to me and was a good match with the dress. I also bought earrings from Swarovski because my dress was simple and I felt it was the right call.

Silver heels

My shoes were about 4-5 centimeters. I don’t think I would ever choose higher. Why suffer, right? They were silver and open as it was a summer wedding.

The handsome groom in Hugo Boss

My husband wore a dark blue Hugo Boss suit and a dark blue tie and he looked so beautiful! I started to cry when I saw him.

A warm, loving, family occasion

We didn’t really have a wedding theme, but we wanted it to be very warm and family oriented.

On the day, I wanted to be surrounded by people I love, so my mum, my mother in law, sister in law and two best friends were with me the whole day, making me smile and helping me with everything.

One of my favourite moments from the day was when I walked down the aisle with my parents with all of our friends and family around us and my future husband waiting for me. It was such a magical moment for me. I felt so loved.

During the wedding, we had a surprise video made by my amazing father that told the story of how me and Liron met from our dog’s perspective. It was so funny and sweet, it was very touching and special.

Eclectic musical choices

For walking down the aisle we picked The Passenger and And I Love Her. When Liron broke the glass we had a mix between Florida’s GDFR and DJ Khaled’s All I Do Is Win, which was amazing. The rest of the night was a mixture of a lot of hip hop, some Israeli music, and a bit of Brazilian for my side of the family.

Our fabulous photographer and videographer

Dror Einav was our photographer and Maor Koren our videographer. We chose them not only because they are very talented, but mostly because of the bond we had with them. I think that this is the most important thing, we wanted someone that would make us feel relaxed, make us laugh.

Advice to brides and grooms currently planning their wedding

My only advice for future brides is just to let it be. Don’t stress over every little thing. Just relax and enjoy your day. It’s yours, everything else will be fine. Oh, and wear comfortable shoes.
