How to handle overwhelm + stress during wedding planning {with Howard Cooper and Blake Ezra}

16/05/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Planning a wedding is exciting, there’s no question about that. But it can also be stressful – from dealing with family drama and pressure along the way to feeling less than comfortable being the center of attention on the big day, there are so many elements that can be anxiety-provoking.

Usually we focus on the fun and meaningful aspects of a wedding, and while those are always front of mind for us, the truth is there are a lot of difficult issues wedding planning can bring out (and that’s one of the big reasons why I started Smashing The Glass’s bride-to-be community, Brides Club – a safe space for everyone to be open and honest about the real ups and downs of the engaged life.).

Meaningful conversations, and talking about mental health and weddings are so important – and that’s what I’m so excited to be chatting live with one of my favorite Jewish wedding photographers, and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Blake Ezra, and Howard Cooper, one of Britain’s leading rapid change therapists, all about dealing with wedding anxiety.

Known for helping people to create rapid shifts in their thinking, Howard’s rapid change approach rejects the notion that deep and lasting change needs to take a long time. Drawing on a variety of psychological tools, Howard has supported thousands of individuals over the past 15 years on an international level, bringing about transformational changes to their lives. A specialist in helping people tackle fears and phobias, Howard uses a practical, dynamic and innovative approach to help people from all walks of life and ages.

With over 150 Jewish weddings under his belt (many of which have appeared here on Smashing The Glass) plus a BA (Hons) in Hebrew and Jewish Studies, Blake has a deep understanding of the traditions and rituals of a Jewish wedding and the ways brides, grooms, and families tend to respond to the unique dynamics a Jewish (or Jew-ish) wedding can bring out.

All about Wedding Weekends {Live with Michelle Jacobs}

28/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

There’s nothing like a wedding weekend! They are always being discussed inside our Brides Club community and with the rise of international destination weddings, we’re seeing a rise in wedding weekends too.

Once you’re asking guests to travel for the big day, it seems like a shame not to make the most of having all your nearest and dearest together in one (very scenic) place by planning a few days’ worth of events surrounding your nuptials.

But there’s no reason you have to jet off to Italy or Palm Beach to get everyone together in one place for a fun-filled weekend – think pre-wedding dinner the night before, a wedding with no curfew, and then a post-wedding day brunch or BBQ.

Luxury wedding planner Michelle Jacobs of Elegante by Michelle J is finding more and more couples are coming to her for help planning this kind of wedding weekend, right here in my hometown of the UK, and I asked her if she’d share all her best tips with me and you!

Facebook Live Catch Up: Luxe Wedding Dress Trends for 2019/20 – Live from Mirror Mirror London

07/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

I’m so excited to share with you my latest Facebook Live from one of the world’s most gorgeous bridal boutiques, London’s Mirror Mirror (a much-loved Recommended Vendor), I was lucky enough to meet with co-founders Maria and Jane, sisters-in-law who started their business 30 years ago out of a shared passion for artisan bridal fashion, and we had wonderful Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Adrian Stone behind the camera.

These two inspirational ladies, who I got to know after noticing that so many of our STG Real Brides bought their gowns from Mirror Mirror, are both designers and stockists of some of the hottest international bridal designers, including Nurit Hen, Hayley Paige, YolanCris, Gemy Maalouf, and Atelier Pronovias. So who better to talk us through the top luxury wedding dress trends for 2019/20?

We had the amazing Reportage Gallery on hand to sneak some behind-the-scenes photos. They were a joy to work with, and I’m absolutely delighted to share the images they snapped with you!

Maria and Jane started off showing us some stunning dresses from their own Mirror Mirror Couture collection. We saw some totally gorgeous gowns and chatted about some of the top bridal trends for the coming year.

An exclusive first look at Emmy’s exciting new collaboration with Corinthia London {Live with Emmy}

03/03/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

If you’re a regular STG reader, you might be aware that I’m just a little bit obsessed with Emmy London, my go-to source for breathtaking luxury bridal and event shoes and accessories. From pretty hand embellished beaded peep toes, to sky high stilettos adorned with Swarovski crystals and mother of pearl shell, Emmy London’s designs are the perfect accessory for your big day.

While past collections have drawn inspiration from destinations and architecture all over the world. Emmy’s latest collection has its roots right here in London, at the Corinthia Hotel! Celebrating the brand’s local heritage, the brand-new Corinthia collection reflects the inspiring interior of this luxury space, which blends historical references and modern touches to perfection.

Designer Emmy Scarterfield will be chatting with me live on our Smashing The Glass Facebook page this Tuesday, 5 March, showing off the new collection and walking us through the design process, from moodboard to first sketch to finished product. She’ll also be demonstrating how she applies her luxe trims to the shoes! Continue ReadingContinue Reading
