What if you never had to worry about the small details that seem never-ending, or how on earth to please everyone around you (we’ve got you covered with my fool-proof method inside Smashing The Glass’ Brides Club), or how to make non-Jewish loved ones feel included at your Big Day?

What if you could maximize every cent of your budget with 10% discounts and sample budget spreadsheets?

And what if you have everything laid out for you step-by-step, with a live community of brides-to-be and newlyweds ready to support you through the stresses, and celebrate the #WPW’s (Brides Club lingo for Wedding Planning Wins)?

Well that’s what EXACTLY what my gift to you will do!

Yes, my gift of 30 free days inside Smashing The Glass’ Brides Club will shift your wedstress, remove your overwhelm and “what-do-I-do-next” feeling, save you $$$$, save you time, and most importantly, save your SANITY.

But do ensure you take me up on it by this Monday February 17.

After Monday, the 30 free days won’t be available (it will be paid access only) and I’d hate for you to miss out on the best free gift I could ever give you – and the best gift you could give yourself!

JOIN BRIDES CLUB FREE FOR 30 DAYS NOW!

Whether you’re newly engaged or just weeks away, working with a wedding planner, or planning solo, having a super traditional wedding, or going totally off-piste, planning an interfaith celebration or a ritual-packed Jewish wedding, Smashing The Glass’ Brides Club is the secret community that guarantees you the wedding of your dreams (whatever those dreams look like!).

Inside Brides Club we minimize stress and overwhelm with community, tailored advice, personalized vendor recommendations, action plans and templates, and we maximize your budget (hello juicy wedding vendor discounts covering every style, budget and location! ????????)

Real Jewish Brides: How Erin Proposed To Her Bridesmaids

12/02/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Erin will be marrying Josh on 1st November 2020 at Congregation Beth Israel, in Charlottesville, VA, USA. Click here to read all Erin’ planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Erin and Josh are planning an outdoorsy fall wedding on a budget in Virginia’s Shenandoah mountains. (2) Erin recently completed her conversion to Judaism, and she and Josh are looking forward to filling their big day with Jewish traditions while keeping it enjoyable and understandable to friends and family from all backgrounds. (3) Erin is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

How you met

They say when planning a wedding, you have to think about what your priorities are, both to just generally center what your day will be focused on, and where you will spend your money.

From the get-go, my fiance and I knew that we want everyone invited to our wedding – and especially those who we ask to actively participate in our day – to know how much we appreciate their presence.

That being said, I wanted to do something special to invite my friends and sister to by my bridesmaids. We all live all over the place, and I just wasn’t sure how much time we would get to spend together before the wedding weekend, so I wanted my invitations to help get everyone even more excited and have them feel appreciated.

Therefore, I decided to make an invite box for each bridesmaid with a few goodies and notes. I know this isn’t a completely unique idea, but I decided that I wanted to customize my invitation to the ~vibe~ of the wedding: a fall night in the mountains.

A Pronovias Bride for a Windy City-Themed Jewish Wedding at The Shapiro Ballroom, Chicago Illinois, USA

10/02/2020 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish-wedding-The-Shapiro-Ballroom-in-Chicago-IL-USA
We’re so excited to be featuring the beautiful Jewish wedding of STG Brides Club member Leah, a food scientist, and Scott, a middle school science and social studies teacher – and these two might just have the coolest venue story we’ve EVER heard.

You see, back in the ‘60s, Leah’s grandfather owned a movie theater in Chicago, The Alvin – it’s such a big part of the bride’s family’s story that her father was even named Alvin in its honor! After many years of abandonment, just a few years ago the theater was finally renovated and turned into… wait for it… a wedding venue! What more perfect place for these two to wed – especially given that they themed their big day around their love for their home city of Chicago? #livinlavidavenus indeed!

This is just one of the many amazing personal touches that added up to make Leah and Scott’s wedding truly one for the books. How cute are the mini Heinz (in honor of the bride’s workplace, Kraft Heinz, as well as her love for ketchup) ketchup bottles with personalized labels they gave out as favors? And of course we adore the pair’s tree of life ketubah by the wonderful Rachelle of Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor The Delicate Brush!

Jamie & Eric Photography captured all the details – not to mention the emotion – exquisitely, and we can’t get enough of the shoot they did with the couple at all of their favorite Chicago landmarks.

Now over to the bride, who could not have looked more elegant in her classic Pronovias ballgown…

How we met

Leah, the bride: We actually met 5 years ago through Jcrush! Swiping right really paid off as I married my best friend.

How Smashing the Glass Has Impacted My Life

05/02/2020 by Smashing The Glass

This is a guest post by Mel Islin, a member of STG’s Brides Club and now Smashing Life.
Above a photo from the Brides Club London Challah Bake meet-up in last October.

It all started with getting engaged…..

When I got engaged in 2016 I was full of emotion and excitement. My boyfriend of 3 years had decided I was the one he wanted to spend his life with – what could be more special?!

We got engaged on holiday so as soon as we got back I went into major planning mode. I couldn’t wait to find our dream venue and set a date.

It wasn’t until I started planning that I realised what a minefield the world of weddings was. I hadn’t been to many Jewish weddings before, let alone had to plan my own!

It wasn’t long after that I discovered a fabulous website and blog called Smashing The Glass.

This was the answer to all my prayers! A space to find vendors, understand the customs and traditions of a Jewish wedding, and read all about real weddings.

A couple of months after discovering this dream site and stalking their Instagram account (which you must follow if you don’t already!) I saw a post about a competition to win loads of Laura Mercier beauty products. I never win anything (not for want of trying) but thought, why not?! So, I entered… and won!

Madness. That was my first interaction with the lovely founder of STG, Karen Cinnamon.

I then saw a call out for Real Blogging Brides for 2017/18. I’d already thought about blogging my planning journey as I liked the idea of reading back on it in years to come so figured this would be a great way of doing it. I applied and was lucky enough to be chosen. My first blog post went live in May 2017 and I was so excited!

Real Jewish Brides: Orli On Dress and Shoe Shopping and Flowers For Her Wedding

29/01/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Orli will be marrying Ben on 6th September 2020 at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, UK. Click here to read all Orli’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Orli and Ben met on Jswipe. (2) Although their venue, the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, couldn’t be more quintessentially London, Orli and Ben are going for a countryside feel. (3) Orli is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

My Wedding Dress Shopping Experience

As a little girl I had always dreamt of my wedding day. What would I be wearing as I walked down the aisle to meet my Prince Charming? For me, this was all coming true and the next thing I had to do was start looking at wedding dresses.

From the moment we got engaged, my mum was desperate for us to pick a date to go wedding dress shopping, yet I was slightly reserved but couldn’t work out why. Was it going to be everything that I dreamed it would be? Would I put on one dress and know instantly that it was the one, feel like a princess and buy it on the spot?
