Good News: Some of Our Favourite London Bridal Boutiques Are Reopening!

11/06/2020 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish wedding Villa Tiberio Marbella Spain_0044

This news has Team STG almost as excited as Olivia and Paul after they smashed the glass! Olivia found her STUNNING Gemy Maalouf gown at Mirror Mirror, which reopens 4 July

As lockdown regulations loosen throughout the UK, we’re reaching an exciting milestone for the wedding world: bridal boutiques are starting to reopen! Over the next month, some of London’s very finest – including Morgan Davies Bridal, Katya Katya, The Wedding Club, Andrea Hawkes, and Mirror Mirror – will start seeing brides for in-person appointments again for the first time in months, and we are ready for it!

The experience will look a little different than before – like most places these days you can expect plenty of masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and social distancing measures, and boutiques are taking a variety of extra safety measures including the following:

  • Limiting each bride to one guest – although most boutiques are more than happy for you to Facetime the rest of your crew so they can participate virtually
  • Requesting that brides bring their own shoes to try on with gowns, and that the bride’s guest help dress her rather than a member of the team
  • Disinfecting fitting rooms and common areas between appointments
  • Steaming and sanitizing gowns between appointments

But one thing’s going to be just the same, and that’s the absolute magic of finding the dress of your dreams. That, and the absolutely above and beyond service all of these wonderful shops provide for each and every bride. Read on for the details.

Morgan Davies Bridal

Morgan Davies shared with us this fantastic new Jesus Peiro gown made out of a new eco fabric sourced from recycled bottles!

Morgan Davies Bridal are opening both their Islington and Hitchin boutiques on 15 June! They’ve been working on lots of exciting things during lockdown, from trunk shows and new collections to lower starting prices and sample sales. And we’re totally obsessed with the sleek, contemporary vibes of the new Jesus Peiro line they’ll be stocking! Opening hours will vary, and they’re able to accommodate late night and Sunday appointments upon request.

Katya Katya

A symphony in lace from Katya Katya’s latest collection

From 15 June, Katya Katya’s London atelier will be open for bridal appointments! We are huge fans of their dreamy romantic styles – and the new collection is truly unmissable. Katya Katya’s also just launched a new collection of four t-shirts: the United in Love Collection brings the brand’s signature style to everyday wear with fun, unique pieces adorned with delicate ruffle details. These tees were designed with #coronabrides in mind, as a way for those who’ve had to postpone to bring some joy and festivity to their original wedding dates. But you don’t have to be a bride-to-be to rock these fab shirts!

The Wedding Club

Beautiful bride Salena found her stunning Berta gown at The Wedding Club

All three of The Wedding Club’s showrooms – Knightsbridge and Kensington in London, plus Birmingham – will officially reopen on 16 June! You will have the opportunity to select the styles that you would like to try ahead of the appointment – depending on which location you choose, you’ll find new gowns from the likes of Berta, Costarellos, Rue de Seine, Suzanne Neville, and many, many more.

Andrea Hawkes Bridal

The Bloom gown from Andrea Hawkes’ new Elements collection is pure perfection

Andrea Hawkes will be reopening their showroom in Clerkenwell on Saturday 27 June – and they’re currently booking appointments! We’re obsessed with this designer’s sleek, contemporary lines, and the new Elements collection is filled with truly breathtaking pieces.

Mirror Mirror London

We’re obsessed with this statement-making caped look Mirror Mirror shared with us from Pronovias’s new collection

Mirror Mirror London, a perennial favourite among Jewish brides, is reopening on 4 July, and they’ve got some great stuff on the horizon: they’re arranging a series of extended designer pop ups in the boutique, including one with Hayley Paige! Mirror Mirror’s also got a wide range of samples available immediately if you’re in need of a dress ASAP. Oh, and we’ve also got to mention that we’re totally and completely obsessed with some of the new pieces from Pronovias they’ll be stocking this season! Mirror Mirror is currently booking appointment for 4 July onward.
