Okay, can we talk about beautiful bride Olivia’s AMAZING dress for a quick sec? The elegant plunging neckline, the sleek fit, and, above all, the very modern lace — all trademark Gemy Maalouf.
It’s no surprise she’s a Mirror Mirror bride. One of our favorite bridal boutiques, this London institution — and beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor — is renowned for their wonderful selection and top-notch service (do you see how perfectly that dress fits Olivia?!).
Not that anything about Olivia and Paul’s big day was anything short of extraordinary. The couple’s planner, Dyana Dessar Simmons from STG Recommended Vendor Optimum Weddings, made sure every detail was picture-perfect — and Olivia reports, made their planning “really easy,” even with the wedding being abroad! And STG Recommended Vendor Jeremy Standley took the most incredible photos of the day — he really captures the love between these two, not to mention the dreamy setting.
We especially love Olivia and Paul’s chuppah setup: their stunning floral structure was roofless, meaning it didn’t technically fit the bill, so the pair had four of Paul’s ushers hold a tallit over their heads — no poles, just an edge of the fabric for each usher to hold on to! What a very special, personal way to involve loved ones in the ceremony.
Olivia will fill you in on the rest…
A Villa in Spain
Olivia, the bride: I picked Villa Tiberio because I thought it was so stunning. I always wanted to get married abroad and because I’ve frequently visited Spain since I was a child it seemed like the best place.
I loved how simple, understated yet timeless the venue was and thought it represented me and Paul well. I actually went to the venue a year and a half before with Paul and I said to him although we weren’t engaged, when we are, we are getting married here! He didn’t have a choice really!
Optimum Planning
We had an amazing wedding planner, Dyana Dessar Simmons from Optimum Weddings and her team, Jessica and Sara, who helped with a lot of things! It made it really easy, especially being abroad. I also knew that I wanted to keep things as personable as possible, and for nothing to be over the top.
Custom Invitation
Our invitation was unique and we were so happy with it. My husband is very creative, and equally we had an art designer who I sat with at the start of the wedding planning to discuss what I envisioned. He was so fantastic, and the invitations came out better then I could have hoped. I love the idea of luggage tags when going to a wedding abroad, but we also incorporated the colours of the wedding and my husband’s logo of his work through the design print of the box and logo.
Hair + Makeup
I had the incredible Nicola McGeorge – she was unbelievable from start to finish. Loved having her on my big day, so calm and professional. I am very fussy with makeup and wasn’t going to have anyone until I tried her. Really amazing – my bridesmaids also had her and were so pleased.
Hair was the amazing Ayelet Garson – she also did the mother of the groom and mother of the bride’s makeup. Ayelet was also amazing, a true talent.
A Gemy Maalouf Dress
My dress was from Mirror Mirror – I always wanted something quite simple, tight fitted and with some sort of plunge/lace design. I fell in love with the dress and they were so great in making all the changes I wanted. The designer of the dress is Gemy Maalouf.
My veil was from Mirror Mirror – I wanted a simple long one. Hair piece was from The Wedding Gallery – again, I wanted something simple.
Jimmy Choos
My shoes were Jimmy Choos.
The handsome groom
The groom’s outfit came from Suit Supply – it was custom made. He had the date of the wedding sewn in on the inside of the jacket. He wore a pair of my late father’s Gucci shoes, which was so special to me. He said to me that he would only wear the shoes on the day he proposes to me and the day of the wedding, which was so special.
Bridesmaids in Green
I had 3 bridesmaids – 2 sisters and my best friend, my maid of honour. Dresses were from The Wedding Gallery. They were green which I wanted to synch with the nature surrounding the venue. It also linked in with the colour of invitiations.
A Floral Chuppah
I fully trusted the amazing florists Roberto and Berta from Unique by Roberto Silvosa! I was very relaxed about flowers; I just knew what I liked, but as soon as I saw their ideas/previous work I trusted them.
Holding Up the Chuppah
My grandpa walked me down the aisle, and my uncle (dad’s brother) stood under the chuppah with us. The rabbi was someone I worked with, and I have a very close friendship with him and his wife. He said some lovely personal things under the chuppah. 4 of Paul’s ushers came under the chuppah during the ceremony to hold something above us as our chuppah didn’t have a roof! It actually was really special and I know they felt very involved.
The One
We had the incredible Club Live, whom we flew in from London – Marlon was a dream and he went above and beyond in making our wedding the best day of our lives. First dance was Kodaline – ‘The One’.
Leave It to the Florist
We used Roberto and Berta from Unique by Roberto Silvosa Marbella – left it all to them! I was so happy with everything they did.
Photographer
Our photographer was Jeremy Standley, who was incredible – his work was exactly what I was looking for. He was a dream to work with.
For the video we used Antonio De Perez – so excited to see the video!
Midnight Snack
There was a lot of food throughout – plus burgers and chips at 12pm!
