A Viktoria Chan Bride for a Boho Jewish Barn Wedding with Lot of DIY Touches at Kinkell Byre, St Andrews, Scotland, UK

09/10/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Genna-Raph-Kinkell-Byre-St-Andrews-Scotland

We love it when a couple plans a Jewish wedding that’s 100% totally them – which is exactly what Glasgow couple Genna, who works for an innovation charity, and Raphael, an architect, did for their big day in beautiful St Andrews.

Celebrating the groom’s Brazilian heritage as well as the couple’s home in Scotland and incorporating so many DIY touches from the couple and their mums, this is truly a wedding to remember.

The groom designed all the wedding stationery plus the ketubah – and also built the couple’s stunning minimalist chuppah – Genna’s mum handmade the kiddush cups over 50 wooden candle holders that were placed around the venue and on the tables, and Raphael’s mum baked the couple’s wedding cake! Don’t miss all the wonderful details in Christian Olliver’s beautiful photos!

Food is important to Genna and Raphael, and when it came time to choose a kosher caterer they went for the best of the best: Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Feast by Ed Shaerf. In Genna’s words, Feast by Ed “absolutely blew us away. Not only was the food incredibly tasty, but the presentation and the professionalism of the staff were also out of this world! Everything was seamless and ran like absolute clockwork.”

There’s so much more to say about this joyous, love-filled day – but we’ll leave it to Genna, who looked so radiant in her minimalist gown by Swedish designer Viktoria Chan – to fill you in on the rest…

How We Met

Genna, the bride: We met through my brother, Adam, who has been Raph’s best friend since they were 10 years old. About 5 years ago, Adam and his then fiance, now wife, Olivia suggested that we go for a drink together because we had ‘lots in common’ – and it went from there! After a few years of a long distance relationship between Glasgow and London, we settled in Glasgow, where we’re both originally from.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Timelessly Elegant Jewish Wedding at Sandpearl Resort, Clearwater Beach, Florida, USA

06/10/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

We can’t get enough of today’s gorgeous Jewish wedding on the water on the Florida coast! Jennifer, an ICU nurse, and Danny, a urologist, made things official at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, where they found the perfect venue for their timeless and elegant three-day celebration.

Naturally, Jennifer and Danny needed the perfect classic ketubah to complement their vibe – and they found just the thing from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Noa Attias. Like all of Noa’s ketubahs, the gorgeous design the couple chose is truly a piece of art, and Jennifer and Danny are thrilled to be able to display it in their home. Don’t miss it in the beautiful photos from Carrie Wildes!

We also love that when it came time for their mini-moon, Jennifer and Danny opted to spend it at Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas! Just a 1.5 hour flight from their home in Tampa, it was the absolute perfect spot for the couple to relax and decompress after all the excitement of the wedding – and they especially enjoyed eating at the hotel’s kosher Asian fusion restaurant, Cinko!

There’s so much more to say, but we’ll let Jennifer fill you in on the rest…

A Louise Selby Bride for a Summer Jewish Wedding at Bevis Marks Synagogue and Middle Temple, London, UK

02/10/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Kitty-and-Sam-Middle-Temple-London-UK

There’s not much that’s better than discovering a hidden gem of a Jewish wedding venue right in the center of London – which is exactly what today’s couple, Smashing The Glass Brides Club member Kitty and Sam, found in Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Middle Temple.

As soon as the couple set eyes on Middle Temple – located in the City of London, just a stone’s throw from the couple’s chuppah venue, Bevis Marks Synagogue – they knew it was just the place for their reception. With a striking (and spacious!) hall full of history and the kind of verdant outdoor space you’d hardly expect to find in the heart of the city, Middle Temple is really something special – and Kitty can’t say enough kind words about the experience of working with their events team in the leadup to the big day! Don’t miss it in the wonderful images by Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Marta Ilardo Photography.

Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Shir performed at Kitty and Sam’s chuppah and reception, including leading Israeli dancing and teaching some basics so all the guests, Jewish and non-Jewish, could follow along! And the couple’s minimalist ketubah came from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubah.com!

We’ll let the bride, who looked so elegant in her Louise Selby gown, take it from here…

How We Met

Kitty, the bride: Sam and I met at work – we’re both management consultants and were working on the same project for a short amount of time a few years ago. We quickly became friends, but it wasn’t until COVID struck and we were unable to see each other every day that we realised how we felt about each other.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Romantic Outdoor Jewish Wedding at Terra Mia Vineyards, Paso Robles, California, USA

29/09/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Danielle-David-Terra-Mia-Vineyards-Paso-Robles-California-USA

We love a good vineyard wedding – and Dani and David had one of the very best! The bride, who works in tech, and the groom, in real estate investing, love going wine tasting, so a romantic vineyard was a natural spot for their Jewish wedding.

Even better, their venue Terra Mia Vineyards is located in California’s Paso Robles, halfway between Dani’s hometown of Santa Monica and David’s hometown of San Francisco.  The property is an absolute stunner – the perfect spot for the couple’s gorgeous chuppah, simply adorned with greenery and topped by tallits spanning three generations – how special is that?! We also love that Dani and David sourced their ketubah from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com!

And how wonderful are the pair’s photos, by Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Derek Preciado?! He captured all the love and emotion of the day so exquisitely – and Dani and David loved the experience of working with him on the day.

Now over to Dani…

Dani, the bride: We like to say we were set up by a yente! A previous coworker of mine is David’s third cousin, and they were at their family’s Passover seder when she decided to introduce us.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Magical Garden Jewish Wedding at Habustan, Abu Gosh, Israel

26/09/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Ariella & Ryan, Habustan, Abu Gosh, Israel

Gorgeous venue alert! Israeli couple Ariella, an account manager in digital marketing, and Ryan, a product manager at a high-tech startup, fell in love with their venue, Habustan, the minute they set eyes on it – and we’re pretty sure we’re having the same experience right now!

The couple couldn’t get enough of the magical garden vibes, and they knew they wanted to keep the focus for their big day on the venue’s natural splendor, with fairy lights, trees, and flowers galore. Their photographer, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Herschel Gutman, captured the understated yet elegant feel of the day so perfectly – in addition to making Ariella and Ryan and their guests feel comfortable and calm as he captured the most phenomenal moments.

One special touch we love: when it came time for the sheva brachot, Ariella and Ryan picked seven VIPs to give one bracha each, and they gave their MC a small script to introduce each person, thanking them for the way they touched the couple’s lives.

We’ll let Ariella fill you in on the rest…
