A Pronovias Bride for a Romantic Outdoor Jewish Wedding Filled with Personal Touches at McCormick Home Ranch in Camarillo, California, USA

10/03/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Juliet-Michael-McCormick-Home-Ranch-Camarillo-CA-USA

We love it when a couple plans a Jewish wedding that’s totally, 100% THEM – and that’s exactly what today’s duo did. Juliet, who works in human resources at a technology company, and Michael, who runs his financial planning company, combined a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony with so many wonderful personal touches, and we are her for it!

One thing we adore is the way Juliet and Michael worked elements not part of a traditional Jewish ceremony into their day, both before and after the chuppah. During their first look pre-chuppah, the pair exchanged private vows, and then after the yichud room they did a private ring exchange.

During the chuppah itself, we love the way Juliet and Michael incorporated friends and family, by asking loved ones to do everything from covering them in Michael’s tallit to reading the signed Ketubah to saying the seven blessings, and more.

When it came time to choose a ketubah, the couple naturally wanted something that both kept to Jewish tradition while at the same time embodied their relationship. The found the perfect design on Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubah.com, where they fell in love with “Sky Over Aquamarine Seas” by Hadass Gerson. Juliet and Michael included both Aramaic and English text and worked with Ketubah.com to get everything exactly how they envisioned. Don’t miss it in the beautiful photos by Jenny Smith and Co.!

There’s so much more to say about this fabulous wedding – we haven’t even touched on the exquisite floral chuppah, or Juliet’s ever-so-chic gown by Pronovias – but we’ll let the bride herself fill you in on the rest…

How we Met

Juliet, the bride: We met as babies and grew up together as family friends all thanks to a lifelong friendship that our dads shared.

Our dads grew up together in Israel and after not seeing each other for years they reconnected after moving to Los Angeles, CA. It was as if no time had passed. Our families were inseparable with trips to the snow, backyard pool parties, and summer BBQs.

Our families happened to lose touch just as we were heading into our high school years. After not seeing each other for over 10 years, Michael recognized me at a local bar in Sherman Oaks, CA and the rest is history. Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Kallmeyer Bride for a Parisian Chic Jewish Wedding at Pavillon Dauphine, Paris, France

06/03/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Susie-Axel-Pavillon-Dauphine-Paris-France

It’s not easy planning a Jewish wedding long-distance – and that goes double when it happens to be halfway across the world, as was the case for California-based couple Axel and Susie! In honor of Axel’s French roots – he’s originally from Lyon, France – the couple opted to make things official in none other than the City of Lights.

And they found the perfect partner in making their dreams come true in their wedding planner, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor La Fete. Working with a knowledgeable planner is so key when planning your big day from afar – and if you scroll through the beautiful photos from Dream Prod, we’re pretty sure you’ll agree La Fete knocked it out of the park.

Everything about this exquisite wedding was perfectly Parisian chic from the venue, Pavillon Dauphine, to Susie’s 4-piece custom wedding outfit by Daniella Kallmeyer of Kallmeyer. And naturally, the food was nothing short of gourmet.

Read on for all the wonderful details of this very special day…

How we Met

Axel and Susie met in April 2019 in San Francisco, California on the dating app “Hinge.” Axel, originally from Lyon, France, had been living in SF since 2015. Susie, originally from Washington, D.C., moved to SF from Mexico City in March 2019 and met Axel shortly after – very shortly in fact: he was her first date since moving to SF. On their first date, they met for dinner on a Tuesday night and were the last two to leave the restaurant. A few months of persistence later, Axel asked Susie to join him on a trip to France in September 2019 – and the rest is history.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Berta Bride for an Ultra-Romantic Destination Jewish Wedding in White at Finca La Concepcion, Marbella, Spain

03/03/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Natasha-Adam-La-Concepcion-Marbella-Spain

Buckle your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff to sunny Marbella, Spain, where UK couple Natasha and Adam held their fabulous Jewish wedding!

The couple’s venue, Finca La Concepcion, was the perfect spot for their romantic summer garden wedding, and they found the perfect partner to bring their dreams to life in Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Dyana Dessar, who they found right here on STG! In Natasha’s words, “Straight away we knew it was a perfect match as she completely understood my vision. I have always wanted an all-white wedding, ultra-romantic wedding with a lot of candles and sparkly lights. Dyana made sure all my visions came to life.”

Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Emily & Jo carried on that vision in their beautiful wedding stationery, featuring simple, classic designs in white with highlights of gold. Natasha and Adam loved working with Emily & Jo, and they were thrilled with the results – don’t miss them in the fabulous photos by Bloomfield Photography.

Also on theme was Natasha’s exquisite Berta gown, which fit perfectly with the surroundings – and was light and comfortable enough for the Spanish summer weather!

There’s so much more we want to tell you about this absolute fairy tale of a day, but we’ll let Natasha take it from here…

Natasha, the bride: We first met nearly 10 years ago, I was 18 years old it was the night I finished my last A-level and Adam had just got back from his gap year. We are both from Manchester and went to the same high school but never bumped into each other before then. Adam proposed towards the end of lockdown, almost 8 years of being together. We were renovating our 1st house and he had decorated the house full of white roses and candles and I said yes!Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Grace Loves Lace Bride for a Simple, Elegant Rooftop Jewish Wedding at Skybar, Miami, Florida, USA

27/02/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

Mariana-Jonathan-Skybar-Miami-Florida-USA

Picture you and the love of your life standing under an airy chuppah adorned with greenery, against the sparkling backdrop of the Miami skyline. Sound good? We thought so… and so did today’s couple, Mariana and Jonathan. Mariana, a digital project manager originally from Brazil, and Jonathan, a data analyst and South Florida native, live in Miami and wanted to showcase their city at its finest.

Their rooftop venue, Skybar, definitely did the trick! The pair wanted something outdoorsy, simple, and elegant, with urban chic flair and lots of greenery, and Skybar delivered. Plus, they were able to take advantage of the beautiful December weather and wed under the stars! Don’t miss the fab setup in the pics from Cortiella Photography.

Not only was this wedding ultra-stylish (how good did Mariana look in her gown from Grace Loves Lace?!), it was also a meaningful testament to how the couple has grown together Jewishly – read on for the full story in Mariana’s words…

How we Met

Mariana, the bride: Mariana and Jonathan met the modern way: by swiping right on Hinge in October 2020. They later found out that they had attended the same small party in honor of Israel’s 70th birthday in 2018, but they never saw each other there. Jonathan had a cat in 2018, and Mariana is deathly allergic to cats; Mariana was still converting to Judaism, meaning she wouldn’t be able to date Jonathan since she was undergoing an Orthodox conversion. Guess there’s nothing like good timing when it comes to a relationship.

Their first date was a success: Jonathan invited Mariana to join him for a private ballroom dance class, and after putting her dance skills to a test, they both headed out to a local hummus place for some dinner. Jonathan, a born athlete and dancer, believes if you can’t connect on the dance floor, it won’t be a good match. He forgot Mariana is Brazilian, and Brazilians know how to dance.

Jonathan knew Mariana was the one right away. It took Mariana a month to come to the same conclusion, but after some thinking she came to terms that Jonathan and Cocoa had been her final destination all along. Oh yes, there is a special third-wheel in this relationship, and he is the most adorable chocolate labradoodle there is: Cocoa, or as Mariana likes to call him Cocoa Remelento.

Jonathan proposed to Mariana late Summer of 2021. Jonathan took Mariana for a little weekend getaway, and popped the question with Mariana’s dream ring! He did forget however to ask Mariana if she would marry him, to which she answered after glimpsing at that beautiful ring: “But are you going to ask me to marry you?”. Guess emotions took over and Jonathan got a little forgetful!

A few of Mariana and Jonathan’s favorite memories together are taking Cocoa for walks in the Morningside Park, going to several performing arts shows, visiting different museums, exercising on a daily basis, Mariana having Jonathan try Brazilian food, and lots of quality time on Shabbat.

A Coral Confortti Bride for a Romantic Israel-Meets-Maldives Jewish Wedding at Kahi Resort, Emek Hefer, Israel

24/02/2023 by Karen Cinnamon

No, we’re not in the Maldives… today’s fabulous Jewish wedding actually took place smack dab in the center of Israel! Bride Ariel, a student of early childhood development, and groom Yotam, a sports therapist and fitness coach, fell in love with the verdant vibes of their venue, Kahi Resort, and we bet you will too.

Styled with wood, bamboo, clean shades of white and green, and plenty of tall plants, Kahi’s combination of a stunning outdoor garden space plus air-conditioned reception hall ticked ALL the couple’s buttons (as did its excellent food by one of Israel’s top chefs!).

Ariel is a self-confessed perfectionist, and she knew from the start she needed an awesome planner to take the lead and keep her clam during wedding planning. She found the perfect fit in Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Yael Kfir Frumkes. In Ariel’s words,“It felt like I’d found my soul twin on every issue, including the finest of details. Yael is blessed with infinite patience when it came to my requests, wishes, dreams and fantasies… I highly recommend choosing her, and in doing so, letting yourself sleep well at night!”

This special day was nothing short of magical – scroll through the exquisite photos by Ori Chayun to see it all for yourself, and read on for all the details in the bride’s own words…
