A Miphai Bride for an Intimate Multicultural Jewish Wedding at Home, Ventura, California, USA

Talk about a multicultural wedding: today’s bride Lesley’s from southern California, while groom Rony hails from Santiago, Chile. The pair met while living in Tel Aviv, and shortly after getting engaged they moved to Paris for work!

Lesley and Rony knew they wanted to keep things simple and intimate while bringing all these strands of their lives into the celebration, and so they opted for a 40-guest wedding at Lesley’s parents’ home in southern California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Despite some unexpected complications – the morning of the wedding was so windy that the chuppah had to be moved twice! – the whole day was so perfectly joyful, and the couple’s photographer, Phil Tripoli, captured it exquisitely.

How We Met

Lesley, the bride and Rony, the groom: We were both working in high tech in Tel Aviv. Rony is a software developper and Lesley is a product marketer. We met during Covid in 2020 and because of the tight restrictions in Israel, we had to be creative about our dates being in open spaces (like the beach or the dog park with Lesley’s two dogs) and we didn’t even go to a restaurant or a bar together until 4 months into dating.

Lesley is originally from southern California and Rony is from Santiago, Chile, although they both grew up with emotional ties to Israel (Rony’s parents lived on a kibbutz for a decade in the 1970s, and Lesley’s father had spent time on a kibbutz in the north in the 1960s). There’s not much we love more than getting a chance to feature the wedding of one of our beloved Smashing The Glass Brides Club members – so we’re pretty thrilled to be sharing the beautiful Atlanta Jewish wedding of our Brides Club member Kim, an elementary school teacher, to Andrew, a contractor.

We’re so touched to hear Kim’s kind words about her experience as a Brides Club member:

I really enjoyed building the friendships and connections with other women around the world who were or had gone through the wedding planning process not long before I had done… I gained most from connecting with others and learning from their experiences and building my own ceremony and wedding experience based off what had worked well and what had not worked well for other Smashing the Glass Brides Club members.

An avid thrifter, Kim turned to stillwhite.com to find the secondhand dress of her dreams – and she found it in her stunning blush/pink colored gown by Ukrainian designer Cathy Telle. And we love that, after the ceremony, she opted to pair it with pink Keds with floral embroidery, which she enjoys wearing to this day – don’t miss them in the luminous photos by Andrea de Anda!

We’re also obsessed with Kim and Andrew’s gorgeous ketubah by calligrapher Ruth Stern Warzecha, which they found on Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com, featuring a classic design of intricate pen line decorations and the traditional seven wedding benedictions around the edge of the ketubah itself.

An EddyK Bride for a Timelessly Elegant Outdoor Jewish Wedding at Ronit Farm, Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel

This is one dreamy wedding! Israeli couple Lihi, a Neuroimmunology PhD student, and Eitan, an Electrical and Computer Science Engineer, married amidst the lush greenery of Ronit Farm, and the whole day was the most exquisite celebration of their love.

A venue as gorgeous as Ronit Farm doesn’t need much in the way of décor, and Lihi and Eitan opted to keep things focused on highlighting the natural beauty of their venue.

The couple chose Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Jossef Si to photograph their big day, and they couldn’t have been more thrilled with their choice. In Lihi’s words,

Jossef Si is the best, most talented photographer, and we knew he would be our photographer before we were even engaged. His talent surpassed any other photographer we saw and it all came true on the day of the wedding. Jossef captured every moment in such an effortless and organic manner that we felt the emotion with each photo.

How We Met

Lihi, the bride: Almost 8 years ago, we were set up by our close friends, Romi & Gabriel, and have never looked back since. A Nicole Colet Bride for a Festival Jewish Wedding with DIY Touches at Kenwood House Kitchen Garden, London, UK

We are head over heels for Georgia and Micah’s epic festival London Jewish wedding! Georgia always knew she wanted to have her wedding reception at her grandmother’s house in Hampstead, and she and Micah found the perfect ceremony venue in nearby Kenwood House’s Kitchen Garden.

Having a reception at home is so meaningful, but putting everything together isn’t easy. Luckily, Georgia and Micah found the perfect partner to transform the yard into a dreamy woodland festival ground in Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Arabian Tents.

In Georgia’s words,

Katherine from Arabian Tents was just amazing… I never once heard her say no to anything, nothing was too much trouble, everything was possible. The whole team were so helpful and so creative it was such a relief.

Arabian Tents also provided Georgia and Micah’s chuppah, handled their lighting (which included a bespoke disco ball chandelier!), and even took on on-the-day coordination services. One look at Carine Bea’s luminous photos and we’re pretty sure you’ll be as smitten as we are!

We also love that Georgia and Micah opted to do as much DIY as they could. Micah’s sister Lil handled stationery and wedding favors, while Georgia and her mum took on the dessert station, table decorations, and flowers (including waking up at 3am to go to New Covent Garden flower market!).

How We Met

Georgia, the bride: We met during Freshers week at Manchester University (at a really awful bar called Baa Bar). We dated briefly but then became really good friends for about 5 or 6 years before we became a couple. We stayed in touch and were very close after uni, I guess it was a case of never having been single at the same time before… when that finally happened it was one of those ‘why aren’t we together’?! sort of realisations.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Luminary Bride for a Multicultural Irish-Israeli Jewish Wedding in Chaldika, Greece

We love a multicultural Jewish wedding, and today’s is really something special. Bride Or is Israeli, while groom Paul is Irish – so they decided to split the difference by making things official in Greece!

The pair turned to Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Sirtaki Events to help them craft the perfect wedding weekend, combining both their traditions plus the vibrant local culture of Greece. Anat and Yonathan of Sirtaki helped Or and Paul find their dream venue, an intimate hotel by the sea with beautiful grounds and an epic pool that the couple secured for exclusive use through the weekend.

In Or’s words,

Working with Anat and Yonathan from Sirtaki Events was incredible. They immediately understood our vision and the vibe we wanted for our wedding, which significantly simplified the process. Their suggestions perfectly aligned with our tastes, even introducing us to ideas we hadn’t considered.

Anat and Yonathan introduced Or and Paul to their photographer, George from Papacharalampous Photography, and they absolutely adore the way he captured the love, joy, and fun of the day.

How We Met

Or, the bride: Paul is Irish and I am Israeli, we met in 2012 while traveling in Thailand! We ended up spending 2 weeks together there exploring the country and another year doing long distance, but at that point we decided to end the relationship as long distance was too difficult. Many years later, we serendipitously met again in Amsterdam.

I was visiting with a friend and Paul was on a work trip in the Ukraine, he wasn’t meant to be in Amsterdam at the time but he got stuck there because of a big storm in Ireland where they had closed Dublin airport. We got reunited and the rest is history.Continue ReadingContinue Reading
