Have we got a stunner of a Jewish wedding for you today! Canadian bride Jaymie wed Israeli groom Gilad in the most magnificent seaside wedding bringing together the pair’s different backgrounds.
Jaymie and Gilad picked one of Israel’s most picturesque venues, Bait Al Hayam, which they loved for its epic beach views and Tel Aviv location. Their outdoor chuppah, held against the sparkling backdrop of the Mediterranean – is truly something to behold.
The couple picked Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Tzahi Shemesh to photograph their day, and they could not have made a better choice – Tzahi captured everything from the love between the couple to the majestic setting to the details of the day so perfectly in his luminous, artistic images.
Now over to Jaymie!
How We Met
Jaymie, the bride: I came to Israel to study medicine and we met online.
A Wedding by the Sea
Bait Al Hayam. We loved the beach view and the fact that it’s so close to Tel Aviv.
Theme + Planner
We used Debra Goldberg Events for planning and Ofir Smuel for design – we loved the work they did. The theme was Middle East-meets-Canada. It was very complicated arranging a wedding in Israel in a time of war. Nevertheless it was so special to do it in Israel and so much more meaningful for us.
Accessories + Shoes
Jaymie had beautiful Christian Louboutin shoes. Gilad’s mom gave Jaymie an a gold necklace that has been in the family for decades.
Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids wore floral dresses.
Ceremony & Chuppah
Our favourite part of the ceremony was the chuppah. Seing everyone we love in one place, looking at the beach was beautiful. Special touches we added were getting a DJ that has experience in North American – Israeli weddings, Caliente.
We used a regular ketubah provided by Rabbi Ariel Konstantyn who is the founding rabbi of The Tel Aviv Synagogue and founding president of ME-Tzion. He will marry Gilad’s sister in a month which is so special.
Our music choice
We had live instruments and DJ Danny Tuval from Caliente – we loved his vibes and after a short meeting, we trusted him 100%. Our chuppah song was תמיד שלך by Omer Adam.
Honeymoon
We went to Thailand a few days after the wedding. We wanted a chill vacation.
