An Enzoani Bride for a Family-Focused Jewish Wedding with a Stuning Floral Chuppah at Offley Place, Hitchin, UK

05/09/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

The wonderful Jewish wedding of Sophie, a sustainability executive, and Daniel, a legal technologist, has so much going for it – stunning florals, a gorgeous chuppah, rockin’ music, and an exquisite venue, to name just a few things.

And we adore them all. But most of all, we love that these two made it their highest priority to make sure their big day felt like a big, welcoming community, centered on happiness, love, and family. Especially meaningful was the fact that Dan’s dad – who’d been in hospital and rehab for 8 months recovering from Covid – was able to be there, and you can just feel the emotion come through in each and every one of the photos from Jo Russell of Chiko Photography, and every frame of the epic wedding video by Max from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Denee Motion.

Sophie and Daniel opted to work with a number of our beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendors, including their venue, #STGvendor Offley Place – which “ticked every single one of our boxes and then some” between its welcoming staff, beautiful grounds, and accessible spaces – and #STGvendor Toastmaster Jango, who helped to ensure the day ran smoothly – and also provided invaluable assistance in the runup to the big day. They also opted to make their wedding gift list with #STGvendor The Wedding Shop, who we love for their fab selection of not only general home goods but Judaica too!

There’s so much more to say, but we’ll leave it to Sophie – who looked simply ravishing in Enzoani – to fill you in on the rest…

How we Met

Sophie, the bride: The story of how we met depends on who you ask! However, we can both agree we met at the University of Manchester, and have been together coming up to 10 years.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Justin Alexander Bride for a Modern Classic Turnip Rose Promenade & Gardens Wedding, Costa Mesa, California, USA

22/08/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Erin & Jared, Turnip Rose Promenade and Gardens, California, USA

Today we’ve got the perfect Jewish wedding to take in as you savor the last weeks of summer: the fabulous nuptials of our Smashing The Glass Brides Club member Erin!

Erin, who runs an ecommerce site, and Jared, who works in real estate, went for an all-outdoor wedding at Turnip Rose Promenade and Gardens – and while the decision was driven by Covid safety, with a venue so stunning who wouldn’t want to make the most of every single moment to take in the gorgeous scenery?!

Erin and Jared’s modern classic theme, featuring tons of white, green, and gold – with all white flowers and plenty of romantic candles – made the most of the venue’s natural beauty. Erin’s simple, elegant Justin Alexander gown continued the theme – and Taylor Kinzie Photography’s light and airy style was the perfect fit to capture it all.

We’re also obsessed with the couple’s champagne tower seating chart – read on for all the details!

Two Beautiful Brides for an Ecofriendly Same-Sex Jewish Wedding in the Redwoods, Old Mill Park, California, USA

01/08/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Margeaux and Zoe, Old Mill Park, California, USA

How can you not love a wedding featuring California redwoods, two brides in matching Teva sandals, and a bouncy house? Just one of those things would be enough to set our hearts aflutter  – and the fabulous Jewish wedding of Margeaux and Zoe included all three, and so much more!

It’s hard not to fall for a wedding with as stunning an outdoor setting as this one – and we love that Margeaux and Zoe worked with Rachelle of Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor The Delicate Brush to design a custom nature-themed ketubah reflecting their big day. Featuring some favorite flowers, plus greenery in honor of the venue, it’s an absolute stunner – and how cool is it that these two wrote their own ketubah text in English and Hebrew?! Don’t miss it in the exquisite photos by photographer Hellena Cedeno!

We’re also pretty smitten with the brides’ attire – not just their dresses from BHLDN (Zoe) and Jenny Yoo (Margeaux), but their comfy footwear too. Yep, the couple really opted to wear matching Teva sandals the whole day! Such a fun personal touch – and how great must they have felt to dance in?!

There’s so much more to say about this very special Jewish wedding, but we’ll leave it to Margeaux and Zoe to fill you in on the rest…

An MLM Label Bride for an American-Israeli Jewish Wedding with Yemenite Traditions at Shalosh, Or Yehuda, Israel

25/07/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

It’s always a treat when we get to blog the gorgeous Jewish wedding of one of our beloved Brides Club members, and Miriam’s fabulous Israeli-American celebration to groom Idan is no exception.

There’s so much to love about this wedding. Miriam, who’s American Ashkenazi, and Idan, who’s Yemenite Israeli, lead an international, multicultural lifestyle, splitting their time between Virginia and Israel, and their big day followed suit – read on to find out about some of the beautiful Yemenite traditions the couple incorporated into their celebration, and don’t miss the stunning photos by Reouven Ben Chaim.

Miriam and Idan worked with the wonderful Yana from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Craspedia Events (who the duo found right here on STG) to plan their wedding, and they loved how she and her team not only helped them enjoy wedding planning minus the stress but also helped them add in all kinds of special details reflecting their lives and love story.

Miriam and Idan also took advantage of a Brides Club discount in ordering a second ketubah with custom text (to complement the traditional one provided by their rabbi) from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com. They chose a paper cut design by artist Enya Keshet, and report that they were very impressed with ketubah.com’s speed and responsiveness.

There’s so much more to say about this joyous wedding – we love that Miriam chose to focus on her values of sustainability and ethical labor when making choices like her beautiful dress from Australian brand MLM Label – but we’ll let the bride herself fill you in on the rest…

How we Met

Miriam, the bride: Idan and I met about 7 years ago while both living in Israel, in an amazing coincidence – we met as the spontaneous ‘plus ones’ to our friends’ first date at a bar in Tel Aviv. My friend (also an American, who at that point I had only known for about a week, and is today one of my best friends!) had hit it off with a guy; she asked me to come to their first date to keep an eye out as she was nervous.

The guy (Idan’s best friend) asked Idan to come with him to help translate the date, as he was self-conscious about his English. I stood in the corner and hung out with other friends to keep “an eye out”, while Idan translated the date – until his friend kicked him out :). Idan and I met again the following week at a party, and have been together ever since. And our friends are now happily married with a beautiful baby girl!Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Sareh Nouri Bride for an Elegant Black Tie Jewish Wedding on the Water at Wequassett Resort, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA

11/07/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Paige & Ross, Wequassett Resort, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA

Who could do with a day at the beach right about now? You too? Well, we’ve got the next best thing for you: the fabulous waterfront Jewish wedding of Boston couple Paige, who works for a non-profit, and Ross, in venture capital. These two held their Jewish wedding right on the water in beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Cape Cod is not only a totally idyllic spot for dreamy photos (see Rebecca Love Photography’s wonderful images for evidence), but also a great spot for a “local destination wedding” for New Englanders, a place you can gather your loved ones together for a full-on weekend away from it all without long-haul flights. Which is exactly what Paige and Ross did.

During her wedding planning, Paige was also a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club, and we love hearing how much she benefitted from not only the support and amazing ideas shared in the community, but also the help finding vendors! Paige and Ross found their ketubah designer, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Melanie Dankowicz, through the group, and they adore both the finished product and the experience they had working with Melanie.

We could go on and on about this elegant wedding – like, how chic did Paige look in Sareh Nouri?! – but we’ll turn you over to the bride for the rest of the story…

How we Met

Paige, the bride: We met at work! We actually didn’t talk much until we were sent on a work trip to Austin, Texas. During that time, we were able to have conversations while walking and that was it.Continue ReadingContinue Reading
