Get all your music questions answered in April’s STG Facebook Live Show!

25/04/2017 by Karen

Smashing-The-Glass-DJ-Knight
I am so excited for this month’s Facebook Live show! Wedding music questions are ALWAYS coming up in our private Facebook group for Jewish (and Jew-ish) brides and grooms (and if you’re not a member yet, you should be – just click here to request to join!).

I often get asked:

  • What’s the best song to walk down the aisle to?
  • What are the best songs to play during the Hora ?
  • How do you go about choosing a memorable Last Dance tune?
  • Should you go for a DJ or a Live Band? Or both?!
  • How do you ensure your party is a truly memorable one for you and your guests?

So I decided that all these questions (and more!) should be addressed in our April Facebook Live show tomorrow, Wednesday 26 April at 8pm GMT (that’s 3pm EST, 12pm PST, 9pm in Europe, and 10pm in Israel) at facebook.com/smashingtheglass.

And my special guest for the evening is none other than DJ Kwamà© Knight who provided all the music (and a rocking atmosphere!) at my own Jewish wedding. Woop woop!

Kwamà© and I will be chatting in real time, so you can ask us anything you want during our live broadcast, or you can submit a question in advance by emailing karen@smashingtheglass.com

In addition, as I do with all the monthly shows, I’ll be giving you the lowdown on what’s been going on behind the scenes at Smashing The Glass, and let you in on the latest news and gossip from the world of Jewish weddings!

This is the fourth episode of our exciting monthly Facebook Live show especially for the STG worldwide community. The show airs on the last Wednesday of each month on the Smashing The Glass Facebook page at 8pm GMT to coincide with #WeddingWednesday.

Facebook Live Catch Up: The Wedding Dress Trends you need to know about for 2017 and 2018

08/04/2017 by Karen

We had so much fun on Thursday when Team STG headed to Knightsbridge in central London to film our latest Facebook Live from the world famous Smashing Supplier, The Wedding Club.

The show, all about the latest wedding dress trends, featured five of the most established and sought after wedding dress designers in the world: Berta Bridal, Zuhair Murad, Carolina Herrera, Georges Hobeika and Naeem Khan.

We were treated to all sorts of breathtaking looks ranging from super-sexy and barely-there on one end of the spectrum, to lavish gowns layered with peplums, sparkles and a ‘modern ballgown’ feel.

We love it when brides take a bit of a chance with colour, and we saw a beautiful range of elegant shades – perfect for fashion-forward brides looking to make a statement.

We also saw some sensational statement capes and overskirts that brilliantly illustrate how you can create two different looks for your chuppah ceremony and party. These drew virtual gasps in the comments boxes with lots of ‘wooooah’s and wow’s. We ADORED all your comments, questions, interaction and shares. Thank you!

If you missed the live show, you can watch the replay above and do tell us: which one’s your favourite?!

Capes, Low Backs, Overskirts (ie a 2 in 1 look), Modern Ballgowns, Peplums, and LOTS of sparkles were the latest trends as seen in our 2017 Wedding Trends Facebook Live Show with the amazing Krishma from @theweddingclub1. Watch the replay over on Facebook.com/smashingtheglass ✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨ “It was so lovely to welcome Karen from @smashingtheglass to our Knightsbridge store today for a Facebook live chat. Watch her and our manager, Krishma, talking wedding dress trends for this season over on our FB page-@theweddingclubuk @theweddingclub1 #theweddingclub #theweddingclubsouthken #theweddingclublondon #weddingdresstrends #smashingtheglass”

Facebook Live Catch Up: Bridal Beauty with Philippa Louise

01/04/2017 by Karen

On Wednesday we went live for the March episode of our monthly show especially for the STG worldwide community, and it was SO MUCH FUN!

This month it was a ‘Bridal Beauty’ special and I hosted it alongside my much-loved Smashing Supplier, Philippa Louise and she smashed it! She answered every one of your brilliant questions from the best make up for a hot destination wedding to how best to achieve a look for your big day that is both suitable for photographs but also natural, to what lip colour goes best with your dress — oh yes, and she also told us all about a fantastic eyelash hack!

I also revealed the STG Wedding of the Month, announced the winner of our Savoy competition and also told you all about our amazing private Facebook Group just for Jewish (and Jew-ish!) Brides. If you would like to join, click here!

If you missed it, you can still catch up by watching the replay below. Philippa gave out so much useful advice and there were so many brilliant tips. You all loved her!

Our monthly STG shows air  live on the last Wednesday of every month on the Smashing The Glass Facebook page at 8pm GMT (that’s 3pm EST, 12pm PST, and 9pm in Europe) to coincide with #WeddingWednesday.

Make sure you like the Smashing The Glass Facebook page to be notified of future shows! This month’s show is going out on Wednesday 26th April 2017, and I’ll be joined by one of the best DJ’s and Event Producers in the country, the super cool DJ Knight, (who actually DJ-ed at my Jewish wedding!) for a ‘Wedding Entertainment Q&A’ live show.

More details nearer the time… Happy Weekend everyone!

28/03/2017 by Karen

Smashing-The-Glass-Philippa-Louise-Make-Up
Did you join us for the February edition of the STG Facebook Live show? It was a wedding photography special, and Blake Ezra smashed it as my special guest!

You all went nuts for him and it was SO much fun, so to say I’m as excited as an blogger with a selfie stick for tomorrow’s March episode is a bit of an understatement!

This month’s show will air live from my home to the Smashing The Glass Facebook page tomorrow, Wednesday 29th March at 8pm GMT (that’s 3pm EST, 12pm PST, and 9pm in Europe).

This month it’s a Bridal Beauty Special and I’m going to be joined by Philippa Louise Make Up whose bridal make up has graced the blog in many of our wonderful real Jewish weddings.

Philippa and I want to answer ALL your burning wedding questions, big or small:

  • Are you wondering whether it’s worth hiring a professional make‐up artist for your big day?
  • How do you go about finding the right make up artist for you?
  • What about ensuring your make‐up lasts all day long?
  • What’s the best look for you on your wedding day?

Philippa and I are ready to help! Just pop over to the STG Facebook page and submit your question(s) as a comment on this thread and we’ll answer as many of them as we can on the show. If you prefer to submit a question by email in advance you can do that too — just shoot me a message to karen@smashingtheglass.com.

In addition, as I do with all the monthly shows, I’ll be giving you the lowdown on what’s been going on behind the scenes at Smashing The Glass this month and let you in on the latest news and gossip from the world of Jewish weddings!

Plus I’ll also be announcing the winner of our magical Savoy competition – someone is going to have a very happy Wednesday!

This is the third episode of our exciting monthly Facebook Live show especially for the STG worldwide community. The show airs on the last Wednesday of each month on the Smashing The Glass Facebook page at 8pm GMT to coincide with #WeddingWednesday.

Review of Sassi Holford’s Twenty17 Collection, Occasionwear, and Mother Of The Bride collections – plus a Facebook Live chat with the designer herself

01/03/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

One of the best things about being a wedding blogger is, undoubtedly, that I get to go and gaze at exquisite wedding gowns — for my job! For that reason and many others, including the impulse to share cutting-edge bridal fashion with you guys, I’m really passionate about promoting incredible bridal designers.

Sassi HolfordSassi Holford EveningwearSassi Holford With that in mind, it was a real treat to be invited to the 2017 Open Day of the one and only Sassi Holford, a leading international designer with a plethora of awards and accolades, earned over 35 years in bridal design. As the official blogger I wanted to get ALL the coverage so I asked Sassi if she would do a Facebook Live showcasing her designs and talking about current wedding trends.

With the opportunity to interview such a wedding world heavyweight, I came dressed for the occasion (even wearing a floral dress to echo one of Sassi’s most sublime designs, and my Emmy London shoes) — and armed with questions.

Sassi Holford_ Sassi Holford_0231Sassi Holford_0252Despite a couple of small hiccoughs with the live feed, it was a fabulous experience, which you can catch up with above — and a couple more at the end of the post. (Also, a very special thank you and shout out to Pamela and Andrea, who did my makeup to perfection).
