Facebook Live Catch Up: Wedding Dress Trends for 2018 {with The Wedding Club}

29/07/2017 by Karen

WOW! What a Facebook Live we had on Wednesday, live from central London’s most prestigious wedding dress store, The Wedding Club.

I spent most of it open-mouthed, taking in the awesomeness of the show-stopping  wedding gowns from some of the most sought-after wedding dress designers in the world. I’m talking Berta Bridal, Zuhair Murad, and Naeem Khan – all Smashing The Glass faves!

We were treated to a diverse range of breathtaking looks, from super-sexy and barely-there on one end of the spectrum, to lavish gowns layered with peplums, beading, sparkles and a ‘modern ballgown’ feel.

We also saw some sensational statement two-in-one styles, and overskirts that brilliantly illustrate how you can create two different looks for your chuppah ceremony and party. These drew virtual gasps in the comments boxes with lots of ‘wooooah’s and wow’s. We ADORED all your comments, questions, interaction and shares. Thank you so much!

QUIZ: What Type of Jewish Bride Are You?

20/07/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish-Brides
Welcome to a very special post – our very first Jewish wedding quiz!

Figuring out your unique bridal style can be tricky – some brides are lucky enough to know exactly what they want, while most of us… well, let’s face it – there’s a lot of selection and it can be overwhelming, to say the least.

At Smashing The Glass, we firmly believe in letting your intuition do the talking – and, as they say, a picture’s worth a thousand words. So don’t think, just click on the pictures, following your instincts and take our very scientific (ahem) quiz and find out exactly which type of Jewish bride you are. You never know – the results may surprise you!Continue ReadingContinue Reading

Divine Designer Dresses and Dancing Brides at White Gallery 2017

24/05/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Sassi-Holford-2018All images by Kate Nielen

It’s that time of year again – when the wedding industry gathers for its own version of Fashion Week — London’s world-renowned White Gallery. Having had such a blast last year, I decided, of course, to do it all over again. Armed with fabulous photographer and STG Recommended Vendor, Kate Nielen, I spent last Monday in the company of some of the most exquisite designer gowns out there.

Sassi Holford

The highlight of the event was, of course, the stand-out catwalk show by STG Recommended Vendor and leading designer, Sassi Holford, complete with dancing models – see video below! (and we swear they were dancing to “Israeli Men”…. who’s even heard of “It’s Raining Men“?!).

Needless to say, Sassi Holford’s 2018 Collection was truly a sight to behold, with its sweeping, regal silhouettes, and the show-stopping Ivana gown, truly fit for a queen.

Facebook Live Catch Up: The Wedding Dress Trends you need to know about for 2017 and 2018

08/04/2017 by Karen

We had so much fun on Thursday when Team STG headed to Knightsbridge in central London to film our latest Facebook Live from the world famous Smashing Supplier, The Wedding Club.

The show, all about the latest wedding dress trends, featured five of the most established and sought after wedding dress designers in the world: Berta Bridal, Zuhair Murad, Carolina Herrera, Georges Hobeika and Naeem Khan.

We were treated to all sorts of breathtaking looks ranging from super-sexy and barely-there on one end of the spectrum, to lavish gowns layered with peplums, sparkles and a ‘modern ballgown’ feel.

We love it when brides take a bit of a chance with colour, and we saw a beautiful range of elegant shades – perfect for fashion-forward brides looking to make a statement.

We also saw some sensational statement capes and overskirts that brilliantly illustrate how you can create two different looks for your chuppah ceremony and party. These drew virtual gasps in the comments boxes with lots of ‘wooooah’s and wow’s. We ADORED all your comments, questions, interaction and shares. Thank you!

If you missed the live show, you can watch the replay above and do tell us: which one’s your favourite?!

Capes, Low Backs, Overskirts (ie a 2 in 1 look), Modern Ballgowns, Peplums, and LOTS of sparkles were the latest trends as seen in our 2017 Wedding Trends Facebook Live Show with the amazing Krishma from @theweddingclub1. Watch the replay over on Facebook.com/smashingtheglass ✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨ “It was so lovely to welcome Karen from @smashingtheglass to our Knightsbridge store today for a Facebook live chat. Watch her and our manager, Krishma, talking wedding dress trends for this season over on our FB page-@theweddingclubuk @theweddingclub1 #theweddingclub #theweddingclubsouthken #theweddingclublondon #weddingdresstrends #smashingtheglass”
