Today’s Jewish wedding is through-the-roof glam. From the couple, Alfee and Geoff, who are basically supermodels, to the breathtaking floral chuppah (flowers FOR DAYS), to the bride’s custom Ines Di Santo gown, there’s just SO much we adore.
Alfee dreamed of an enchanted secret garden aesthetic, and does this wedding ever deliver… Between that chuppah — seriously, it almost looks like a rose bush just magically grew into the shape of a perfect canopy — and the luxe florals by Jose Graterol Designs adorning the tabletops, this is basically a floral fantasy.
Oh, and did we mention all the fairy lights, and the super cool lanterns hanging from trees?! Davina and Daniel did such a fab job capturing all the stunning details — which is even more impressive given that this wedding took place at night, with no natural light to lean on.
The day was all made possible by the couple’s fantastic wedding planner Kristen Daniel from Mindy Weiss, the wedding planning superstar you may remember from our epic Smashing Summit earlier this year — and if you don’t, what are you waiting for?! We’ve got the whole thing recorded for you to watch at your leisure.
Now over to beautiful bride, Alfee…
A Destination Wedding in Miami
Alfee, the bride: We got married at Soho Beach House in Miami. We wanted to have a destination wedding and loved the vibe of this entire hotel; we essentially took over the whole hotel for the weekend! It was so much fun.
A Fab Wedding planner
We used Kristen Daniel from Mindy Weiss… loved her!!
An Ines Di Santo Dress
My dress was by Ines Di Santo, it was a custom gown. I chose the dress because I met Ines and we bonded; I felt like she was my fairy god mother. She made this dress special for me and she made sure she was at all my fittings, the whole process was so special. I changed for the party into a beaded custom-made Theia couture gown, which I absolutely loved!!
A Surprise Veil
I wore simple stud earrings and I borrowed two diamond Harry Winston bracelets from a close family friend. My veil was a gift from Ines Di Santo that she surprised me with. I had chosen a plain tulle veil and when she shipped my dress to Florida she included this beautiful lace veil with a note from her, it was so special!
Christian Louboutin Shoes
I wore Christian Louboutin ivory satin peep toe heels, a very classic look. They were special order with 100mm heel. For my party dress I wore Aquazzura metallic high heel strappy sandals.
Hair + Makeup
I wore my hair half up, long and wavy. I brought my hair stylist and makeup artist – Stephanie Decotis and Sophie Parrot – from home; I knew they would be able to do exactly what I wanted so I wouldn’t have to stress about it.
The handsome groom
Geoff wore a Gucci tux; he always looks great in a tux!
11 Bridesmaids!
I told my bridesmaids they could wear blush, grey, or nude. I had 11 bridesmaids and I wanted them to all feel great. I encouraged them to wear beaded, lace, or somewhat embellished dresses, but really let them choose what they wanted. A lot wore Theia dresses.
Secret Garden
I wanted the entire ceremony space to feel like a secret garden, lush and somewhat magical.
This Will Be an Everlasting Love
Processional – the bridal party walked down to Falling Slowly from the musical Once, I walked down to Turning Page by Sleeping at Last, and we had a gospel choir (not so Jewish lol) from Miami come out and sing This Will Be An Everlasting Love by Nathalie Cole for our recessional… it got the party started!
Our first dance we did to a medley of Otis Redding songs.
Peonies
My bouquet was peonies… the flowers at the wedding were a mix, I don’t really know what, but the florist was Jose Graterol Designs.
Our fabulous photographers
Davina and Daniel are so extremely talented. No cheesy wedding pics with them – you can feel emotion in every picture, and their artistic eye is exceptional. On top of their incredible talent they are just great people to be around and have since become dear friends.
A Cake for Cutting
I wasn’t overly concerned with the wedding cake, I wanted people to enjoy the desserts Cecconi’s had to offer (especially the tiramisu)… we did have a cake for the tradition of cutting it, it was a simple 3 tiered vanilla cake with buttercream icing decorated with fresh flowers matching the center pieces.
Entertainment
A friend of ours who is a DJ did the music for the party; her name is Fafa Khan. We had live music for the dinner.
Welcome Baskets
Because it was a destination wedding we did welcome baskets in our guests’ hotel rooms. We had custom canvas tote bags made, filled with babka from a local bakery, gummies, spiced nuts, water bottles, a hangover kit, a game/quiz about Geoff and me, an itinerary and things to do in Miami… everything was labeled and “branded” for our wedding.
