Get ready to be blown away by the positively swoonworthy Italian Jewish wedding of Roman couple Daria, a physiotherapist, and Daniel, a real estate developer – and get ready to be even more blown away when you find out they pulled it together in just 40 days between lockdowns.
These two had their glorious countryside luxe wedding at the most incredible venue just outside Rome all planned and ready to go when COVID hit. Like so many other 2020 couples, they had to postpone. Then, in the summer, when things were opening back up during a lull in the pandemic, Daria and Daniel saw their chance and they went for it – pulling everything together for their new date in just a little over a month!
That’s an impressive timeline for any wedding, let alone one as opulent as Daria and Daniel’s! How did they do it? With the help of an incredible wedding planner, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Deborah di Castro, who made sure everything – from the big-picture stuff to the tiniest details, like personalizing everything from masks and bottles of hand sanitizer to flip flops with the couple’s logo – was taken care of.
And were there ever some impressive details! For starters, feast your eyes on Antonio Carneroli’s dreamy images of the couple’s glorious chuppah, their exquisite table scapes, and, above all, the epic love and joy shining through in each and every shot – and don’t miss the trailer from Sesame Films, which makes us feel as if we’d been right there with Daria and Daniel on their day.
Now over to the bride…
How we met
Daria, the bride: We met in elementary school and we were in the same class, but during high school I changed schools. After a few years we met again and we fell in love.
Venue and wedding plans
We got married at Antonello Colonna, a venue 40 minutes from Rome. The owner is a well-known chef. It was all very difficult, we had booked and then came covid. Then summer arrived and it seemed that everything was over. It was all done in 40 days, a super rush to try to do everything in time.
Elegant Countryside
The theme was country but elegant, we have played with contrasts between the countryside and the opulence of gold and modernity of grey of the venue.
Invitations / stationery
The invitations were planned by Deborah di Castro and my mother.
Hair + Make-up
The make up artist was Claudio Noto, very well known in Rome, and the hair stylist was Simona Carbone
An Antonio Grimaldi Dress
The dress was designed by designer Antonio Grimaldi. An elegant romantic and modern style embroidered with crystals. We were inspired by the very modern context in which the wedding took place. It was an unconventional dress.
Accessories
I wore a pair of diamonds earrings
Shoes
I wore a pair of white shoes. Daniel wrote a message to me on the soles.
The handsome groom
Daniel wore a suit tailor made by Andrea Spizzichino.
Bridesmaids
I had bridesmaids, and all of them wore their own dress
Ceremony
One of the most moving moments of the ceremony was when the choir started to sing typical roman rite, it was very moving.
Ketubah
The ketubah was designed by my uncle Carlo Cal
Chuppah
The chuppah was designed by my floral designer Andrea Patrizi.
Our Music Choice
During the ceremony we had the very special choir from the synagogue of Rome.
Flowers
The flowers were by Andrea Patrizi, I just asked for white and very classy design.
Photographer and videographer
The photographer was Antonio Carneroli and the video maker Sesame Films
Food and Cake
The catering was done by the famous chef Antonello Colonna and the cake was designed by Kosher Cakes
Entertainment
I had the DJ Gabriele Imbimbo – he is a close friend of my husband Daniel
Favours
We gave out kosher wine with a tag with our logo.
Extra details
Since we had planned everything very fast we didn’t have a lot of time, but with the help of our wedding planner Deborah di Castro we put our logo where we could, from the masks and gel to the flip flops, we tried to personalize what we could.
Honeymoon
We are still waiting to go on our honeymoon.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
My experience of organizing a wedding in 40 days made me realize that in the end the important thing is to get married and that it is useless to stress because in the end with the right help you can realize your dream.
