Anyone who’s had the good fortune to visit Old Jaffa knows what a spine-tinglingly special place it is. Steeped in history, spirituality and an inexplicable atmosphere, fostered by its ancient stone streets and walls and its stunning views over the sea and Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa is a place like no other. If you haven’t been – go! And if that’s not realistic at this moment in time, never fear. Cà©line and Oliver’s liberal Jewish wedding day will transport you there.
The happy couple chose to honor their surroundings with their wedding aesthetic and color scheme, in blues and whites with accents of yellow. The cohesive theme was created by wonderful wedding planner Miss Dandelion Events & Design, who not only designed every detail, but brought together a team of formidable vendors to bring everything to life!
Beautiful bride, Cà©line, absolutely stunned in her perfectly pitched boho-style, custom-made Yoav Rish gown, with her chic yellow bouquet.
All of the joy, laughter and dà©cor details were captured with expert ease by our incredible Recommended vendor, photographer Luz Weddings who we ADORE, and have featured many times on STG before (for reasons that will become very obvious as you scroll through these images.

How we met
Cà©line, the bride: We met at an over 30s party in Basel.
A magical, historic venue
We got married at Hamam in Old Jaffa. The stunning view of Tel Aviv and the magic of the walls of this historic and cultural place just made us fall in love with it.
A cohesive wedding aesthetic
Our amazing wedding planner was Miss Dandelion Events & Design. The whole wedding theme was created by Miss Dandelion in accordance with the colors we discussed.
It was very important for us (and them) to have one aesthetic through the whole wedding, from the save the dates to the thank you cards.
The design matched the historical cultural venue, and we chose a color scheme of blue, white and yellow.
Personalized, wow-factor invitations
The invitation cards were designed by Miss Dandelion to match to the theme of the wedding. They were blue and white with patterns and accents of yellow.
Following our really beautiful save-the-date card, it definitely created a ‘wow’ moment when guests received it.
The card was created with high-quality white paper with blue patterns and was tied with a yellow silk ribbon. When opening the card, it symbolized entering the venue through an arch and inside we had two separate sheets of paper with the info. Even the postal stamp was personalized.
An international stylist
Our trusted hair stylist, Rashid Yassin, from Basel, Switzerland came especially to Israel for our wedding.
A boho Yoav Rish dress
The dress was tailor made by Yoav Rish in a bohemian style. The dress was unique, and it perfectly complemented my body. The atelier is an oasis of wellbeing, and the staff was really attentive and helpful.
Custom-made jewelry
Our wedding rings were created by my uncle. The rings are in rose gold.
The earrings and necklace were created by Mirjam Ginsberg from Basel, Switzerland. They are in white gold with very small diamonds, perfectly matching to the wedding dress.
Rose gold, glittery shoes
My shoes were from Roni Kantor, Tel Aviv. The color was rose gold with very fine glitter.
The handsome groom
Oliver’s suit was black, from Blue Navy Boutique in Tel Aviv. It was a combination of elegant and fitted, with small details in yellow, to match my bouquet and the venue dà©cor.
Bridesmaids in white
The bridesmaids wore all white. They had flower crowns and carried flower baskets filled with white flowers.
A hand-held chuppah
We used a traditional hand-held chuppah under the historical Arches of Old Jaffa. It combined the cultural history with the view of modern Tel Aviv. The chuppah was held by four friends.
A liberal Jewish ceremony
The whole ceremony was put together together with our liberal Rabbi, Oren Yehishalom. Prior to the wedding we went to him for marriage preparation. We were discussing and interpreting the symbols of marriage from a religious point of view.
This led to an individual ketubah design. The ceremony itself was very personalized and focused on our future life. The atmosphere was one of friendship and joy.
A personalized wedding soundtrack
The wedding soundtrack was created by DJ ZVI Miller.
Spending time with DJ Zvi Miller creating our wedding soundtrack was lots of fun and great vibes. “Music is what feelings sounds like” and DJ Zvi Miller understood our feelings and knew how to read the crowd.
Our processional songs were: When A Man Loves A Woman instrumental (groom) and Im Eshkachech Yerushalayim (bride).
The recessional was Wedding Horah Medley
Our first dance was to Lionel Richie & Diana Ross: Endless Love, then as a transition: Happy by Pharrell Williams.
Fabulous floristry
Miss Dandelion Events & Design not only produced our wedding, but also designed and personalized it all. It was their imagination and creativity that brought our vision to life. They work with an amazing florist, Chrissy Yahav of Wedding Flowers Design, who put together all of our arrangements, as well as the bridal bouquet.
Our fabulous photographer and videographer
The pictures speak for themselves – check them out! Their work is absolutely stunning, professional and personal. Our planners recommended Luz Weddings and we were in love instantly. Highly recommended!
Our video was made by the talented Yair Shiloach. The video is not finished yet…
Chocolate wedding cake
Miss Dandelion Events & Design also designed the cake. They designed it to fit the entire theme and had it baked by Daphna of Delizie, an Italian eatery in Tel Aviv. It was chocolate cake with sugar frosting.
Personalized wedding favors
Upon arrival, guests received a branded wedding program. Men received branded leather kippot and women received a branded pashmina scarf.
At the end of the night, every guest received a small branded glass jar with branded sweets (in pineapple flavor) inside. The sweets were manufactured by Papabubble Caramel Artisans.
Special moments
Every moment was unique. Our parents’ speeches were very special and emotional. Some friends prepared a sketch in Swiss German, and even wore costumes — this was very special for a wedding in Israel. Miss Dandelion also used personal things such as photos to decorate our special day.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
Our recommendation is to use a wedding planner and the most important thing is to trust them. Then you can relax before and during the wedding and fully enjoy your special day. So many couples try to do it on their own and end up being super stressed and can’t enjoy it at all. We were guests at our own wedding and knew we could just rely on Miss Dandelion to take care of it all.
