Start spreading the news – because today’s NYC Jewish wedding is the dictionary definition of city chic!
A wedding set against the stunning New York skyline deserves nothing less than the very best vendors – and that’s exactly what happy couple, Marianna and Peter opted for. The celebration was held at the iconic Mandarin Oriental hotel, with floristry by the fabulous Bride & Blossom, who submitted today’s fashion-forward wedding to STG.
We’re totally enamored with the origami crane chuppah – what a great way to fuse wedding traditions from different cultures! We’re also all hearts for eyes over the unique all-red dà©cor scheme, and bold bridesmaids in black dresses. Absolutely sublime! Also take a look at that absolute centerpiece of a cake – we’re both in love with the visuals and very, very hungry!
Gorgeous bride, Marianna, opted for a classic fashionista outfit – a timeless Vera Wang gown with something-blue Manolo Blahnik. So luxe Carrie Bradshaw herself would weep with envy!
Of course, it’s an STG wedding, which means it’s more than likely one of our own was involved! Our brilliant Recommended Vendor, Bella Figura, provided the rose-gold, classic letterpress invitation design.
Photography was provided by none other than absolute wedding photography royalty, the Fred Marcus Studio. We’re massive fans here at STG, and it will soon become clear why as you look at the phenomenal spread of pictures.
We’ll leave you with Marianna for the rest of the details of her and Peter’s stunning big day. Take it away, Marianna!
The perfect NYC venue
Marianna, the bride: I knew I wanted to get married in our favorite city, New York. NYC is also home, having been born and raised here. I wanted a venue to showcase the skyline and central park. We also had our second date at Columbus Circle. Mandarin Oriental was the perfect venue.
Shades of red
My favorite colors are red and burgundy. I’m also a Capricorn and my birthstone is granite. I chose the color scheme to be shades of red. My style is very classic and timeless, which is why we went with a black tie wedding.
Classic invitations
For our invitations, I chose Bella Figura for the classic letterpress with a rose gold border. The rose gold was also a theme of the wedding.
A Vera Wang sweetheart ballgown
I knew I wanted a classic Vera Wang sweetheart ballgown. I only tried on four dresses and my gown was the last one. It had a very long bridal train and I fell in love with the design. I knew it was the one, because I felt like a princess in it!
An iconic Vera Wang veil
The veil was the iconic Vera Wang cathedral veil. Since my bridal train was very long, I wanted a veil to lay over my bridal train. It’s all about the dress, so I only chose to wear pearl drop earrings from Mikimoto and a tennis bracelet.
Something blue Manolo Blahniks
For my shoes, I chose Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps in blue satin. This was my something blue.
The handsome groom
Peter wore a Tom Ford tuxedo and bow tie with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. He looked so handsome! Very James Bond.
Bridesmaids in black
All of my bridesmaids wore black dresses in different silhouettes.
A magical, floating chuppah
I always wanted a floating chuppah. The chuppah was made from my favorite flowers, orchids and hydrangeas. It was magical!
Memorable moments
The floating chuppah was definitely my favorite part of the ceremony and design for the wedding. Getting married under my dream chuppah, surrounded by friends and family was the greatest moment.
Romantic floristry
Bride & Blossom was my florist. I wanted a sexy and classy look. The centerpieces included different colors and styles of red flowers including garden roses, black magic roses, and burgundy calla lilies.
Candelabras and candles were lit throughout the night at the reception.
My bouquet was comprised of ivory garden roses and the bridesmaids held red rose bouquets. I didn’t have the groomsmen wear boutonnieres.
A six-tier cake
I designed the cake and gave a picture to the cake vendor. The cake vendor was Master Sweets. I went with this specific design because it was very black tie and classic.
We went with vanilla and chocolate flavors. I love vanilla and Peter loves chocolate. The cake was six tiers.
Getting the party started
I requested mostly dance music, because I wanted people dancing the entire night.
Macaron favors
I wanted something sweet to thank the guests. We had macaron favors because I love them and figured you can’t go wrong with them. Mandarin Oriental baked the macarons.
