DEN AND EDEN’S JEWISH WEDDING AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
We LOVE a good museum wedding. There’s nothing like bringing culture, history, and art into your big day to make it even more special, and Den and Eden’s Jewish wedding just proves what a wonderful backdrop a museum can make!

With their loved ones at the forefront of this caring couple’s mind, the pair had their Jewish ceremony in a close friend’s back garden, before a glamorous reception at the impressive National Gallery of Victoria, known for its iconic stained glass ceiling.

As luck would have it, bride Den’s mother is an event planner, and was on hand throughout the process to bring everything together. The family-focused couple also adorned their chuppah with the tallit of three of their grandfathers, who had passed away, which we think is a beautiful way to honor lost loved ones during the chuppah service.

Georgia and Richie’s Australian-Spanish-Indian Jewish Wedding at the Swiss Italian Lavandula Farm in Daylesford, Australia
Imagine you’re standing in the middle of a beautiful field of lavender. Breathe in that wonderful aroma. Relax. That’s it…
Sounds like a nice meditation, right? Well, for Georgia and Richie, it was the setting for their Jewish wedding.

The crazy thing is, the epic setting isn’t even the coolest thing about this wedding (though it’s definitely pretty awesome). We’re mostly obsessed with how interior architect Georgia (she runs Studio Ezra and Tiles of Ezra) incorporated her design sensibilities into the big day.

For starters, there’s the chuppah. The bride came up with the design for the simple wooden structure draped in garlands of blue hydrangea and the most exquisite ropes of bright orange marigold. It’s truly a stunner, from the unlikely juxtaposition of colors to the distinctive lines, and one unlike any chuppah we’ve seen before. The story of how – and why- the marigolds reached the venue is pretty amazing, too.
Even the floor of the chuppah reflected Georgia’s style – she had custom handmade tiles by her company Tiles of Ezra to line the bottom of the structure. The tiles even included the couple’s Hebrew names!

You know when a couple have really put their blood, sweat and tears (of joy, obviously!) into their big day because it shows. It shows in the small details, it shows in the smiles of rapture on their faces and it shows in their guests faces. It also shines through in the photography.

Nicole and Natalie run a creative agency and are two craft-istas so they unashamedly went to town on getting everything just right with their own creative, personalised twist. And we’re not even sure we know where to begin with their big day. Do we start with the flash mob, old lady tea ceremony, and the double-smashing of the glass with a cowboy boot on one foot, and stiletto on another?

Actually we might just kick off with the tea ceremony with the rickshaws, lawn games, and breast cupcakes… and the oh-so-simple but effective paper doll-chain aisle runners… and the fans for guests with ‘We’re Your Biggest Fans’ tags, and tambourines with ‘Shake What Your Mumma Gave You’ tags!

Nikki and Jem’s Jewish Wedding Under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Simmer on the Bay, Dawes Point, Australia
Nikki and Jem are just the coolest couple and their big day from the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge embraces the most beautiful Jewish wedding traditions whilst maintaining a totally free-spirited, energetic and fun vibe.

We love pretty much everything about Nikki and Jem’s Jewish wedding but one of our favourite details (that we’ve never seen done before) is the couple choosing to shelve the idea of traditional favours, and instead place custom ribbons with their monogram and date on them at everyone’s place setting. They then invited guests to create their own bouquets from the gorgeous wild flowers that were in front of them, tie them together with the ribbons and take them home. Such a beautiful and thoughtful idea.

Fashion stylist Nikki looks utterly gorgeous in her Rue de Seine gown — the New Zealand designers make the most perfect boho bridal romantic dresses combining rich beading, intricate detailing and sheer draping.

Ashleigh and Brett’s Laid-Back Outdoor Jewish Wedding at Spring Road Park and Leonda by the Yarra, Melbourne, Australia
We are ALL about bride Ashleigh’s ultra-romantic Needle & Thread dress. That floral beading! Ashleigh knew she wanted something low-key yet beautiful, and we’d say that’s a spot-on description of the style of her laid-back Jewish wedding to Brett.

If you’re in the market for a vintage-inspired dress, Needle & Thread is absolutely worth a look. They’ve got some fantastic, stand-out options for brides on a budget, and they also offer some fab styles for brides on the hunt for that ever-elusive modest wedding gown.

Ashleigh and Brett were set on holding their chuppah outside in nature, in their local park – so much so that they went through with their original plans even after an unexpected downpour the morning of the wedding!
So there you have it! If you’re planning an Australian Jewish wedding of your own, we’d love to hear about it in the comments!
