A Calla Blanche Bride for a Colorful Outdoor Destination Jewish Wedding at Casa Felix in Barcelona, Spain

10/09/2018 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish Wedding Casa Felix Barcelona Spain
Shana Tova lovely readers! Can you believe it’s Rosh Hashanah already? Where did summer go?! What are you all doing to celebrate? Are you getting away to somewhere gorgeous?

Today’s fantastic couple did for their stunning destination Jewish wedding…in Spain! Julia, a cake decorator (though sadly, she couldn’t make her own wedding cake, given the distance!), and Brian, a restaurant manager, are obsessed with Spanish culture and cuisine, and knew they wanted an intimate destination day, so it was really a no-brainer for them to choose to wed at historic, picturesque Casa Felix.

Full of rich colors, Spanish vibes (including a traditional flamenco show.. I mean WOW!), and gorgeous views, we love how Julia and Brian let their stunning venue set the tone for their wedding aesthetic. Everything just fits together so exquisitely, from the unusual color combo on their fabulous floral chuppah (yes, purple and orange CAN go together!) to  photographer Andrea Ferrara’s elegant style.

The pair credit their amazing planner, Smashing The Glass recommended vendor Reviva Weddings’ Laura, with making it all happen. They knew that between the distance and the language barrier, they’d have a tough time pulling the day together on their own. But they wanted to make sure they found someone experienced in Jewish weddings, which isn’t a given in Spain. So where did they look? Right here on Smashing The Glass! Day. Made. We ADORE hearing from couples who we’ve helped connect with awesome vendors.

Julia, who looked radiant in her gown by Spanish (so on point!) designer Calla Blanche, will fill you in on the rest…

How We Met

Julia, the bride: We met in Israel on a Birthright trip from our local Jewish organization, Ezra. We were supposed to go with two different groups on different dates. I ended up changing my date and group, and so did Brian – to the same date. It’s very hard not to believe in fate after this.

Brian is five years younger than me and I was not really ecstatic to begin a relationship with such a young guy (19). But, he was very mature for his age and I was open to give it a try. Six years later we are married. 🙂

Romantic, Designer Weddings in Spain – planned to perfection by Reviva Weddings

11/11/2016 by Karen

If you’re considering casting the biggest day of your life in a romantic sun-drenched destination and are fancy a trend setting, stylish and contemporary vibe – bespoke but definitely twinkly – then you simply must be introduced to Reviva Weddings. I’ve been following them for a while now and am totally impressed with this Marbella- based team of wedding planners, known for creating cutting edge weddings across Spain.

Jewish Weddings in Spain

Reviva Weddings has built up an extraordinary network of suppliers and has become one of the most established and popular wedding planners in Spain. And importantly for STG readers, they have created many beautiful Jewish weddings.

Having organised epic Jewish weddings for up to 400 guests, and with an understanding of the requirements for Jewish and mixed faith marriages, you’ll be in very capable hands with British-born Reviva founder, Laura Charles and her team. From beautifully dressed chuppahs to venues who can offer kosher catering, they’re on it.

You had me at “Interior Designer”

Apart from the planning and coordination services you’d hope for, Reviva is holding a major trump card — Laura Charles, the  owner, is an interior designer. This is the first time I’ve come across an interior designer turned wedding planner and it’s like music to my ears. After all, this is one day when you need someone to really take charge of the mise en scà¨ne, to craft the stage and create the atmosphere and oh my, she is darn good at it.

Laura, who has lived in Spain for years, started Reviva in 2007 originally as a wedding stylist. There was a real demand for super stylish weddings in Spain but it didn’t seem like anyone was renting out any decor or equipment at all. You couldn’t even hire a chair sash, let alone sequin table runners and a neon bar.

So she started Reviva,  doing both wedding styling (including equipment/props hire) and the full wedding planning service. Because of her background and passion for the visual, Laura has formed an extremely accomplished, design-focused company. And to help – she has a fabulous team of trained wedding planners behind her who are brilliant, bilingual, and supremely creative. All ready to organise and style your day.
