There’s not much we love more than getting a chance to feature the wedding of one of our beloved Smashing The Glass Brides Club members – so we’re pretty thrilled to be sharing the beautiful Atlanta Jewish wedding of our Brides Club member Kim, an elementary school teacher, to Andrew, a contractor.

We’re so touched to hear Kim’s kind words about her experience as a Brides Club member:

I really enjoyed building the friendships and connections with other women around the world who were or had gone through the wedding planning process not long before I had done… I gained most from connecting with others and learning from their experiences and building my own ceremony and wedding experience based off what had worked well and what had not worked well for other Smashing the Glass Brides Club members.

An avid thrifter, Kim turned to stillwhite.com to find the secondhand dress of her dreams – and she found it in her stunning blush/pink colored gown by Ukrainian designer Cathy Telle. And we love that, after the ceremony, she opted to pair it with pink Keds with floral embroidery, which she enjoys wearing to this day – don’t miss them in the luminous photos by Andrea de Anda!

We’re also obsessed with Kim and Andrew’s gorgeous ketubah by calligrapher Ruth Stern Warzecha, which they found on Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com, featuring a classic design of intricate pen line decorations and the traditional seven wedding benedictions around the edge of the ketubah itself.

Kim, the bride: I invited my best friend from high school to go to yoga and she brought along her roommate. A Martin Thornburg Bride for a Tree of Life-Themed Jewish Wedding at the Grand Hyatt, Buckhead, Georgia, USA

We just love today’s couple’s Jewish wedding theme: tree of life! Taylor, a nurse practitioner, and David, an orthopedic surgery resident, love the outdoors, and they settled on this theme as the perfect way to combine their enthusiasm for nature with their deep connection to Jewish tradition.

They found the perfect spot for their big day in the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead, Georgia, featuring gorgeous Japanese Zen Gardens where the duo held their chuppah (birch, and embellished with greenery, florals, and foliage – so on theme!). A Birenzweig Bride for a Rooftop Jewish Wedding in Pink and Orange at the Four Seasons Midtown, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

There’s nothing like a good rooftop Jewish wedding, with a chuppah set against the backdrop of stunning city views – and Samantha and Jacob’s Atlanta celebration truly takes the (wedding) cake!

Samantha, who is finishing up her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and Jacob, who works at a start-up biomedical engineer company as the head developer, planned an absolutely exquisite day, featuring the most vibrant summer blooms in shades of pink and orange, a stunning ketubah from beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com  adored with a hamsa and pomegranates, and a touching memory wall honoring lost loved ones (including the bride’s brother who tragically passed away at age 19).

How we Met

Samantha, the bride: Where do we begin… Samantha and Jacob met when they were very young, during middle school at a homecoming dance, by being introduced from mutual friends. From there and throughout middle and high school, they talked on and off (Facebook messenger fashion) until they decided to catch up at a local park their junior year and hit it off right away.

After many dates, Jacob, being extremely nervous, asked Samantha a million question before finally asking her to be his girlfriend. As years went by and numerous dances, football games, holidays, and family gatherings spent together, countless memories were shared with one another and their love for one another grew.

Samantha cheered Jacob on during football while Jacob supported Samantha’s never ending commitments. When college approached, their locations diverged but their love did not. Although there were over four years of long distance and all of those miles apart, their love for each other never faltered and it was coupled with numerous adventures, great food, and of course many shopping sprees!

On September 26th 2020, after exploring Charleston, SC (Samantha’s favorite place), Jacob surprised Samantha by proposing to her under a gazebo at the Charleston Battery with their families present. A Calla Blanche Bride for an Industrial Rustic Winter Jewish Wedding at King Plow Arts Center, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

We are OBSESSED with the urban rustic ambience Casey, an elementary school teacher at a Jewish day school in Atlanta, and Scott, who’s in sales at a security company, brought to their winter Jewish wedding. Taking cues from their super cool venue, King Plow Arts Center – full of exposed brick galore – the pair went for a country-meets-city vibe focused on neutrals interspersed with succulents and greenery, and we’re in love! Don’t miss theexquisite photos from Ember Studio and video from Rusticus Films.

And REALLY don’t miss Casey and Scott’s gorgeous ketubah by Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Noa Attias. Crafted in the artist’s trademark paper cut style, Noa crafted a modern piece in dark and light silvers that the couple now proudly displays in their home as the true piece of art it is.

We also love the couple’s sweet wintry wedding favors: each guest got a mason jar filled with hot cocoa, marshmallows and a personalized wooden spoon labelled with Casey and Scott’s wedding hashtag (@GREENEwontheGOLD) and a sticker on top that said “It Just Got Real. Enjoy something Hot, Love Casey and Scott” – cute!
