A Jewish Wedding with an Alice in Wonderland-Inspired Color Scheme at the Edwardian Radisson, Manchester, UK

19/05/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Sophie and Adam, Edwardian Radisson, Manchester, UK

We love a good Manchester wedding, and Sophie, a teacher, and Adam, a business consultant, had a truly fabulous one! As a proud Mancunian, Sophie always knew she wanted to get married in her hometown – and the Edwardian Radisson’s central location was perfect for giving out-of-town guests a real feel for the city.

Inspired by a holiday in Las Vegas where they loved the Alice in Wonderland theme at the Bellagio conservatory, Sophie and Adam opted for a similar color scheme of teals, pinks, and purples, and we love the way the couple opted to line their aisle with trees for a magical woodland vibe.

Sophie and Adam chose Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Kate Swerdlow to photograph their day, and they couldn’t be more thrilled with their choice – take a scroll through Kate’s beautiful imagery and you’ll see why!

How We Met

Sophie, the bride: We met on Hinge after I saw one of his photos was of him with an elephant. Elephants are my favourite animal so I had to give him a like. Our first date was at Puttshack (mini golf) and the rest is history…

An Elbeth Gillis Bride for a Modern and Sophisticated Jewish Wedding at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, UK

05/05/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Tamara-and-Reuben-St-Pancras-Renaissance-Hotel-London-UK

Cool chuppah alert! London couple Tamara, who works in marketing, and Reuben, a broker, opted to skip out on flowers (partly to avoid aggravating the bride’s hay fever), and did they ever find the perfect way to craft a standout chuppah, no blooms required.

Letting their venue, the stunning St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, set the tone, Tamara and Reuben opted for a simple, elegant Perspex chuppah, covered with Reuben’s grandfather’s tallit. It was the absolute perfect complement to the Art Deco-style ballroom where the wedding took place – as was the couple’s choice of black linen and Perspex candelabras for the tables at the reception.

Music was a top priority for Tamara and Reuben, and they found the perfect fit in the amazing Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Sensation Band, who handled both production and live music throughout the night, with Guy Barzily who blew everyone away with his chuppah singing and simcha set. The duo wanted a mix of 80s, 90s, and soul for the dancing sets, and Sensation delivered that and so much more.

The couple’s photographer, the incredibly talented David Pullum, captured everything flawlessly – and Tamara and Reuben report that he was an absolute dream to work with throughout the day.

Now over to Tamara, who looked so chicly elegant in her Elbeth Gillis dress…

A Multicultural Nigerian-Jewish Wedding at LJS and Dyrham Park, UK

21/04/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Justin-and-Emma-Dyrham-Park-Hertfordshire-UK

We love it when a couple crafts a one-of-a-kind wedding that truly reflects both of their backgrounds and the life they’ve built together – which is exactly what London couple Emma, an investment analyst in finance, and Justin, who works as a senior manager in digital marketing, did.

Emma and Justin’s shared Jewish faith plays a central role in shaping the way they live, so it was only natural for them to choose to hold the religious part of their wedding at their beloved shul,  LJS in St. John’s Wood.

The next part of their day was focused on celebrating Emma’s Nigerian heritage: after the chuppah, everyone moved on to the reception and vibrant Nigerian cultural ceremony at Dyrham Park, a beautiful country house and golf club located in Hertfordshire. The Igbo-Arochukwu cultural wedding featured a wine carrying ceremony, a symbolic moment where the bride carries wine from her father to present to her groom, followed by the blessing of the marriage. The evening also included performances from Ekombi dancers, paying tribute to Emma’s maternal Oron-Nigerian heritage. Helen Weir captured the day so beautifully from start to finish – don’t miss her exquisite imagery!

Now over to Emma…

How We Met

Emma, the bride and Justin, the groom: We met towards the end of the Covid lockdowns, as restrictions began to ease in late 2021, through the dating app Hinge. Our first date was at the Patch Bar near Moorgate, where we ended up trying karaoke and exploring central London. The rest, as they say, is history! Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Country House Jewish Wedding in White at Sopwell House, St Albans, UK

20/03/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Natalie-and-Josh-Sopwell-House-UK

We love a country house Jewish wedding – and Natalie and Josh’s big day at Sopwell House in St Albans is really something special! Natalie and Josh loved the gorgeous grounds and the private, remote feel – all while being an easy trip from London.

We’re obsessed with the couple’s super cool Lucite chuppah, adorned with gypsophila and hanging white roses – don’t miss it in the wonderful photos by MIKI Studios.

To make sure everything ran to plan on the day, Natalie and Josh turned to Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Toastmaster Jango. He made sure everything went smoothly so the bride and groom could relax and enjoy their day stress-free, and the couple give him lots of credit for making the day of their dreams a reality.

Now over to the bride, who’ll fill you in on all the details…

A Veni Infantino Bride for an Interfaith Winter Jewish Wedding at The Rosewood London, UK

06/03/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Kirsty and Dean, Rosewood London, London, UK

We love a good winter wedding – and the fabulous London celebration of Kirsty, a Pilates instructor, and Dean, who works in technology recruitment, ticks ALL our boxes!

Opting to wed in November, the duo knew they didn’t want a typical all-white winter wedding, so they went for a soft color palette featuring nudes, blush pink, and gold, and warmed the room with candles everywhere. Their stunning venue, the Rosewood London, made for the perfect backdrop for this elegantly cozy day.

To make the day of their dreams a reality, Kirsty and Dean turned to Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Elegante by Michelle J’s Piccolo premium coordination service, which brought all the suppliers together in the leadup and on the day, so that everything ran seamlessly and the bride and groom could enjoy their wedding stress-free.

Another Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor, Big Day Designs, created Kirsty and Dean’s wonderful invitations. They wanted something relatively simple and minimalistic but that didn’t look the same as everyone else’s – and did Big Day ever come through: many of the guests reported that it was the nicest invitation they’d received!

Photographer Lynn Shapiro captured all the details of the day so beautifully, and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Denee Motion handled the videography with their usual aplomb – don’t miss their fabulous trailer!

We also love that Kirsty and Dean set up their chuppah canopy such that it was rigged to the ceiling, so that after the ceremony they could remove the poles and repurpose it as a fabulous floral chandelier to enjoy all night long!

Read on for more on this very special day in the bride’s own words…

How We Met

Kirsty, the bride: We met at a golf club in Chigwell, watching the Champions League final in May, 2021. Dean moved to Chigwell from Australia around eight years ago and quickly slotted in with his English cousin’s group of friends – the same group of friends that Kirsty grew up with. They started speaking, saw each other a few times within the crowd over the next two weeks, went on a date and the rest is history!Continue ReadingContinue Reading
