A birthday gift from Smashing The Glass to every Bride-to-be! {today only}

06/06/2019 by Karen

Six years ago I hit the ‘go live’ button on my very first blog post (and if you’re wondering what it was – it’s the real Jewish wedding of my brother to his incredible wife, [and my one-in-a-million sister-in-law], Lee Ann… Just the most gorgeous wedding for very many reasons!)

Six years later Smashing The Glass has  grown beyond my wildest dreams. We are a superwoman team of three (shout out to the amazing Maria and Emily!) with offices in London and New York City and life is good!

So it goes without saying that we couldn’t let our 6th birthday pass by without a (pretty generous if we do say so ourselves!) gift for you.

We are re-opening the doors to Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club for Jewish and Jew-ish brides, and we’re gifting a FREE 30 day membership to every bride-to-be (the gift has to be claimed by Monday June 11 so don’t delay – claim your 30 day free access pass now!)

Whether you’re newly engaged or just weeks away, working with a wedding planner, or planning solo, having a super traditional wedding, or going totally off-piste, planning an interfaith celebration or as Jewish as it gets, Smashing The Glass’ Brides Club is the secret community  that you need to plan the wedding of your dreams (whatever those dreams look like!).

Inside Brides Club we minimize stress and overwhelm with community, tailored advice, personalized vendor recommendations, action plans and templates, and we maximize your budget (hello juicy wedding vendor discounts covering every style, budget and location!)

Not sure what Brides Club is? It’s my members-only community for Jewish and Jew-ish brides-to-be whom I spoil and lavish my attention on, day in – day out.

See the foot of the post for just a few of the things our current Brides Club members have to say about their experience of the community. Promise it will blow your mind!

And if you’re already a member of Brides Club, another little birthday gift is awaiting you! Check your emails, or inside the Brides Club Facebook Group, and go claim it and spoil yourself!

But wait…what exactly is Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club?

Brides Club is my members-only community for planning your perfect Jewish (or Jew-ish) wedding. It’s my biggest passion, and my 3rd baby (after my two little princesses)!

I set up Brides Club in January 2018, in response to receiving 100’s of daily emails and DMs from brides-to-be wanting to know how to tailor Jewish wedding traditions / music / family dynamics / timelines / levels of Jewish-ness / mixing of cultures and faiths etc. to their personal Jewish wedding.

I was also receiving daily requests for vendor recommendations  and creative wedding ideas, and I absolutely LOVE helping with this kind of stuff (seriously – this is what I live for!). The spark was lit for creating Brides Club, a members-only community, dedicated exclusively to Jewish and Jew-ish Brides, and now, one and a half years later, I’m proud to have helped 100’s of awesome Jewish and Jew-ish brides create the Jewish wedding of their dreams (whatever that dream might be).

Inside Brides Club I’m able to take away all the wedstress, the overwhelm and all the ‘wedding information overload’.

Think of me as your virtual maid of honor – ready to help with anything and everything at a moments notice! And the community of support from fellow brides-to-be and newlyweds is unlike any other! Promise you’ll never have experienced anything like it before… Give it a go and if it’s not quite for you, you are free to leave at any time! There is no contract or commitment. It’s a gift from me to you – and if you just want to enjoy it for 30 days and then leave – no hard feelings – I promise!

I help you plan as little or as much of your wedding as you want, ensuring you make decisions with clarity and confidence whilst keeping family and friends happy. I also ensure you get the most ‘bang for your buck’ with your wedding budget, and, most of all, ensure that planning your wedding is as fun and stress-free as the day itself!

A Liz Martinez Bride for a Beachside Destination Jewish Wedding at La Cabane, Los Monteros, Marbella, Spain

05/06/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Destination Jewish wedding Le Cabane Los Monterros Spain_0038

We just might have a new all-time favourite chuppah. Seriously, could you imagine anything more perfect for a sundrenched Spanish seaside wedding than this symphony in white and green? We’re pretty sure we can’t.

Georgia and Joel’s big day is really something, from start to finish. Despite living in London and not being able to get out to Spain as often as they would’ve liked, the wedding was planned perfectly down to the very last detail thanks to the wonderful Dyana of Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor optimum weddings. The bride reports that Dyana and her team were “amazing from start to finish” – even sticking around all night until the wedding ended at 3 AM!

This is truly a stunning wedding – you don’t want to miss the gorgeous, luminous photos and trailer from The Love Hunters (recommended by Dyana). And we’re obsessed with Georgia’s stunning dress by Israeli-French designer Liz Martinez.

And whilst we’ve got you, you MUST tune into SmashingTheGlass.com tomorrow, Thursday, for a very special announcement with amazing freebies for every bride-to-be! See you back here, tomorrow, Thursday – same time same place for the big reveal!

How we met

Georgia, the bride: Joel and I went to the same high school but did not know each other during this time. It wasn’t until he left the school that I became friendly with his group of friends! We then met outside of school and dated for 9 years before he proposed!

Real Jewish Brides: Mimi And Her 4-Week Countdown

04/06/2019 by Smashing The Glass

Mimi will be marrying Andrew on 7th July 2019 at Hazel Gap Barn in Welbeck, Nottinghamshire, UK. Click here to read all Mimi’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: THREE FACTS: (1) Mimi and Andrew met online in 2013. (2) Mimi is a flight attendant and writes her own travel and beauty blog on the side (3) Andrew proposed to Mimi, who at the time was nearing the completion of her conversion to Judaism, at the top of Masada – wow!

The Final Countdown

The four week countdown is officially on – and I almost can’t believe how time has flown by in these last few months (said every bride, like, ever!). I’m incredibly excited, and hoping to tie-up those final details and plans so that I can relax during this final run up!

Since I last wrote I’ve been super busy, which is something I’m sure all brides-to-be can relate to! I had the most amazing second Hen – a verrrry boozy brunch at the W Hotel  with 15 of my best friends and family (my first hen was a ski weekend in Chamonix so it was about time we got a little wilder!)

A Pronovias Bride for a Rustic Destination Jewish Wedding at Topnotch Resort, Stowe, Vermont, USA

03/06/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish wedding Topnotch Resort Vermont USA_0006
A destination Jewish wedding doesn’t have to take place thousands of miles from home to have a seriously big impact. For evidence, see the gorgeous rustic wedding of Erica, a content manager in the pharmaceutical industry and adjunct professor in business communications, and Jared, an electrical engineer.

They knew they wanted an intimate wedding that would allow their family and friends – who hadn’t spent much time together due to living far apart – to really get to know each other. So they opted to host #GordonWeddinGetaway in Vermont’s breathtaking Green Mountains – far enough away from their home in Philadelphia to qualify as a bona fide destination while still accessible to their guests.

We love that Erica and Jared really focused on keeping everything low key and fun for their 45 guests, and never lost sight of their ultimate goal for the wedding weekend: connecting with their nearest and dearest – and allowing their family and friends a chill couple of days to connect with each other, too! And based on the wonderful photos from Jesse Schloff Photography, it seems to have gone exactly to plan.

One of our biggest goals here at STG is to make sure all brides (and grooms) to be are able to craft a wedding day (or weekend!) that’s exactly how they want it to be – and we’re so excited to be launching our first-ever FREE Jewish Wedding Planning Bootcamp, starting TODAY, Monday, June 3! It’s going to be full of tips and tools for creating the wedding of your dreams, stress-free (or just about), and it’s not too late to sign up!

Now over to the bride, who looked exquisite in her off-the-shoulder mermaid gown from Pronovias…

How we met

Erica, the bride: Like many others these days, we met online—Jdate specifically. From reading his profile, I thought we had a lot in common (we’re both from the same town). I liked that he said he liked to go mini golfing and play board games—nerdy things that I also enjoy. We also both lived in South Florida; we even went to the same high school in PA but were a year apart.

We set up our first date for October 2, 2015. We went bowling and split a pizza. I thought he was very cute and felt a connection right away. Early on, I could see Jared being “the one.”
