A DIY ‘Jew-Bu’ Wedding at The Wildflower Barn, Driftwood, Texas, USA

07/07/2017 by Karen

Jewish Wedding The Wildflower Barn Driftwood Texas USA_0018
There’s no two ways about it, Rachel and Michael’s gorgeous Texas Jew-Bu wedding ticks all of the STG boxes. Creative? Tick. Cool? Tick. Unique? Tick. Emotional? Tick. The couple’s quirky, alternative vibe was evident in every little detail.

With a little help from some very crafty friends, acupuncturist-moonlighting-as-an-office-manager, Rachel and product manager / DJ, Michael put their personalities into all of the DIY touches, from their origami cranes to their Tibetan prayer flag chuppah, their sunflower centerpieces to their gorgeous home baked cakes, courtesy of a friend.

Rachel looked every bit the beautiful bride in her stunning, textured Theia Couture gown, chosen for its immense huggability (totally a word), which we think is just adorable. We also have total style envy over her cute cat-eye makeup look and lashes!

The day was recorded for the ages by fabulous photographer, Caitlin McWeeney, we hope you enjoy the images, and Rachel’s brilliant write up, as much as we did.

An Epic Alice in Wonderland-themed Jewish Forest Wedding in Israel

05/07/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish Wedding Alice in Wonderland Israel_0029
What happens when two event planners get married? Only the most epic Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding of all time. No, seriously, not to go all Kanye on you, but of all time.

Bride Lihi has always loved Alice in Wonderland, with the story following her throughout key points of her life. So, naturally, when it came to marrying fellow event designer Ido, the pair began planning out how to bring the book to life with immaculate attention to detail.

From the stunning forest venue to the astounding floral china centrepieces, the abundance of colorful flowers (assembled by a team of ten florists!) and props to the actors who, in full costume, interacted with the guests, the wedding was just like stepping into the classic novel.

Let’s take a second to talk about Lihi’s show-stopping Zahavit Tshuba dress, with its lace top and tulle skirt – the absolute definition of Israeli chic, with all of the boldness and personality that we adore in Israeli brides.

The day, with its quirky and original paper flower chuppah, was beautifully shot by our dear friend and much-loved STG Recommended Vendor, Ran Bergman. Thank goodness, as this was truly worth preserving!

We’ll leave you now with the amazing images and Lihi’s account of her and Ido’s magical wedding day. Take it away, Lihi…

How we met

An Equality-Driven Jewish Beach Wedding at The Fairmont Miramar, Santa Monica, California, USA

03/07/2017 by Karen

Jewish WeddingThe Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica California USA_0042
Some real weddings are just so full of love, heart and emotion that it shines through in every image we see, and every word the couple writes. Ryan and Jessica’s Santa Monica beach celebration was certainly one of those days.

Set in the shadow of an enormous fig tree, the tear-jerking day included a uniquely equality-driven badeken (we LOVE this idea, we suspect many couples will be borrowing it), and a ‘web of love’ during the ceremony.

The pair tied the knot in their hometown of Santa Monica, paying homage to their beachy lifestyle and adding in a minty colour scheme, which carried through in all of the details, captured so beautifully by photographer Scott Clark Photo.

While we’re talking details, we adore (amongst many other things) the rustic-look chuppah, succulent buttonholes and meaningful circle-of-life ketubah – the epitome of Jewish wedding chic.

We’ll leave you with Jessica’s lovely write-up now, but pay special attention to the ‘web of love’ image a little later in the post – so very moving and just what getting married is all about.

How we met

Jessica, the bride: Ryan and I met in Los Angeles while pursuing graduate degrees in Business Administration at the University of Southern California in 2011. We’ve been on a long journey together since: over the past six years we moved twice, first to New York and then back to LA. In 2016, Ryan joined the Jewish faith, we got engaged, and less than a year later, we were married.

A Pronovias Bride for a Sunshine-Filled Jewish Destination Wedding at Marbella Club, Spain

30/06/2017 by Karen

Destination Jewish Wedding Marbella Club Spain_0047
Grab a suitcase, and some sunscreen (that’s the Jewish mother in us), because we’re heading back to Marbella today for another stunning real wedding in the Spanish sunshine.

Francesca and Mark met in a friend’s kitchen, and it was love at first sight. The pair tied the knot in Marbella, as the Marbella Club is a home away from home for the bride and her family.

The beautiful big day was a proper holiday celebration – with sun, sea and personalized fans for favors. The magical night ended with a spectacular fireworks display – what more could you ask for?

If you wish you had been there, never fear – along with the gorgeous stills by Paul Toeman Photographers, this beautiful video from our much-loved Recommended Vendor, videographer Denee Motion, will make you feel like you were part of the action!

Over to Francesca for the full write up of the moment she and hubby Mark said “I do”!

How we met

Francesca, the bride: The magical day Mark and I met was just before Christmas 10 years ago at a friend’s home. I walked into the kitchen and saw the man of my dreams sitting there. Instantly, sparks flew, and it was love at first sight.

A Rainy Rustic Barn Jewish Wedding at The Lodge at Mount Ida, Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

28/06/2017 by Karen

Jewish Wedding The Lodge at Mount Ida Charlottesville Virginia USA_0003
A chuppah draped with foliage, a three-tiered buttercream cake topped with fresh flowers, a country barn venue – these are just some of the reasons we wish we’d been at Sandra and Matt’s rustic big day.

The whole wedding was a visual dream, with pops of bright, spring colors against dark, earthy backdrops, at a venue with special meaning to the couple.

Despite dramatic weather, Sandra and Matt soldiered on, even making the rain a feature of their wedding, with the bridesmaids in adorable rain boots (or wellies, for the Brits!).

The beautiful photography below was provided by Don Mears Photography, so we’ll let you go and gawp at it now. Enjoy Sandra and Matt’s big day story (we adore the tale of their first meeting – it’s like something out of a movie!)

How we met

Matt, the groom: Our relationship started as so many do: with Bill Clinton. Freezing in line to see the former President stump for Hillary in the 2008 primaries, I started making fun of Sandra for being short, the surest way to any girl’s heart.

Sandra, the bride: I knew I was in trouble when I bumped into him later that night. I was at a party Matt had invited my friends and me to at his fraternity, and had gone up to the bar to grab a drink. Lo and behold, Matt turned around to serve me. He smiled, and I was smitten.
