An Andalusian Fantasy Ashkenazi-Sephardi Jewish Wedding at Villa Luisa, Seville, Spain

02/05/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Rebecca & Emmanuel, Villa Luisa, Seville, Spain

We love it when a couple lets their Jewish wedding locale set the stage for an ultra-memorable celebration – which is exactly what Parisian duo Rebecca, a physiatrist, and Emmanuel, an epidemiologist, did when they chose to make it official in Seville, Spain!

The pair chose Andalusia not only for its fabulous East-meets-West architecture and delectable cuisine, but also for its rich Jewish history, in tribute to the bride’s Sephardic heritage.

And their amazing wedding planner, Charlotte Ricard-Quesada from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor La Fête – who Rebecca and Emmanuel found right here on Smashing The Glass – brought their dreams to life exquisitely – on a super tight timeline, no less! Charlotte’s fluency in Spanish and experience planning weddings in Seville made the process a breeze, and she connected the pair with many of their fabulous vendors – including their breathtaking venue Villa Luisa, which captures the splendor of old Andalusia in all its glory. Don’t miss the dreamy photos by Juan Luis Morilla!

And did we mention that Rebecca and Emmanuel’s Seville-based kosher caterer, Taim, served up authentic Andalusian tapas – which are often difficult to find with kosher certification?

There’s so much more to say about this one-of-a kind wedding, but we’ll turn you over to Rebecca to hear about the rest…

How we Met

Rebecca, the bride: We met on the internet 17 years ago. I was looking for someone who could lend me medical books, Emmanuel had some and the exchange took place at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés metro station, near the medical school.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

A Maison Aries Bride for a Magical Autumnal Jewish Wedding at Villa Le Corti in San Casciano Val di Pesa, Tuscany, Italy

18/04/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Ludivine and David, Villa le Corti, Italy

Today’s couple, Ludivine and David, had one of the most exquisite autumn Jewish weddings we’ve seen – and we see a lot! With the help of their amazing wedding planner, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Deborah di Castro, the pair was able to bring all of their Tuscan autumnal fantasies to life – and then some!

They opted for moody autumnal colors, from rusted orange to deep violet, and their décor went all in on the autumnal fruits Italy is known for, like chestnuts and figs. And don’t even get us started on the couple’s amazing chuppah – absolutely not to be missed in Antonio Carneroli’s magical photos.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Ludivine and David started out with a totally dreamy venue, Villa Le Corti – pure Tuscan romance. And we’re obsessed with Ludivine’s unconventional gown from Maison Aries – such a unique, modern look, yet 100% fit for a fairy tale princess.

Now over to Ludivine…

How we Met

Ludivine, the bride: David was my tutor in law school for a semester in 2014, and was at the same time buddies with my brother. From 2014 to 2019 we would run into each other at birthdays, weddings, parties. We finally met again, in May 2020, in the middle of Covid. Since that day, we never left each other. A Lee Petra Grebenau Bride for an Elegant Jewish Wedding at Holkam Hall, Norfolk, UK

08/04/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Zac-Lucy-Holkham-Hall-Norfolk-UK

How gorgeous is Lucinda and Zac’s fabulous Norfolk Jewish wedding?! The setting, the chuppah, Lucinda’s fabulous gown by Israeli designer Lee Petra Grebenau… It’s all just perfection, as you’ll see if you scroll through Andy Davison Photography’s wonderful images.

Lucinda, an optometrist, and Zac, who works in finance, pulled off a wedding that was not only beyond-words beautiful, but also an awesome party! That was in large part thanks to the couple’s band, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Jam Hot, who started with an awesome Israeli dancing set and went on to keep the dance floor packed all night.

In Lucinda’s words, “I think I can say on behalf of every guest at our wedding that Jam Hot Showband really were the highlight of the event. We keep on trying to think of another excuse to have the band again for another party, they created memories that we are forever grateful for and will never forget.” Doesn’t get much better than that!

We were also pleased to hear that Lucinda and Zac also bought their ketubah from much-loved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubah.com –they wanted something they could hang in their home as a work of art, and needless to say they found just the thing.

Now we’ll hand you over to Lucinda…

How we Met

Lucinda, the bride: Zac and I met when we were about 15 years old on holiday, Zac being from London and myself from Nottinghamshire, we were just friends until around the age of 17. Around this age, Zac took me on our first date in London, we started out as a long distance relationship through university. Once I graduated, I moved to London and we have since bought a house and moved in together, and then got married 2 years later, despite all the odds with covid. We had been together for over 8 years before we got married.Continue ReadingContinue Reading

An Oleg Cassini Bride for a Jewish Wedding with Southern Charm at Lowndes Grove, Charleston, South Carolina, USA

21/03/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Anna & Chance, Lowndes Grove, Charleston, South Carolina, USA

There’s nothing like a Jewish wedding with a little Southern charm… like our beloved Brides Club member Anna’s beautiful Charleston wedding to groom Chance!

Anna, who works for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Works, and Chance, a lawyer, wanted to show off the best of their home to their out-of-town friends and family, and we could not be more in love with the outcome, which was so wonderfully photographed by Natasha Coyle.

The indoor-outdoor vibes, the delightful pops of pink (Anna’s favorite color), the dreamy chuppah… it doesn’t get much better than this. We’re also obsessed with the couple’s Southern-inspired menu highlighting Charleston classics – they even started their meal with biscuits instead of bread and butter!

And how stunning did Anna look in her classic ball gown by Oleg Cassini from David’s Bridal?! Loving the old-school glam vibes. We’ll let her take it from here…

A Berta Bride for a Timelessly Glam Jewish Wedding with a Cannabis Bar at Chicago Illuminating Company, Chicago, Illinois, USA

18/03/2022 by Karen Cinnamon

Alana & Benjamin, Chicago Illuminating Company, Chicago, USA

We are absolutely, positively in love with Alana and Benjamin’s jawdroppingly gorgeous Chicago Jewish wedding. Swathed in greenery and twinkly lights, the ambience these two created for their day was nothing short of magical (don’t miss the stunning photos by Avery House!) – and we love that they added in some unexpected personal touches, like a cannabis bar!

Perfectly matching their color scheme focused on neutrals, white, and gold was the couple’s fabulous ketubah from beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor The Ketubist. Featuring papercut gold peonies on a white background, the design is SO chic – and Alana and Benjamin loved working with founder Talia.

This wedding was full of so many more wonderful touches, but we’ll leave the rest to Alana, who looked nothing short of ravishing in her exquisite gown from Israeli designer Berta…

How we Met

Alana, the bride: Formally, we met on the Jewish dating app J-Swipe. However, Benjamin’s friend from Jewish summer camp happened to have been my college roommate and eventually became our Rabbi. He played a significant role in our courtship after we met. We are both psychotherapists.Continue ReadingContinue Reading
