CHARLOTTE AND ADAM

This post and update on our wedding was meant to look a little different. We had our engagement photo shoot, which was really more an engageaversary shoot, I was feeling more upbeat about the wedding and had really got my head around a wedding for 30 and a bigger celebration down the line. A few days ago the UK government announced yet another change, only 15 guests are permitted to attend weddings. This change is expected to last 6 months.

01/10/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Blogging Bride Maggie and Danny

I found it more difficult to write this month’s post as I have not really checked off any boxes when it comes to planning my wedding. We looked back through some vendors we saved for things such as cake and photo booth, worried about how we were going to pay for our catering deposit and tried to figure out a kosher caterer. We did however have our first meeting with our friend Leah Sachs of Leah E Moss Designs to discuss our wedding paper goods.

She gave us some much good information, much of which I already knew from following her blog and Instagram, but she taught a lot to my fiancé who surprisingly agreed with what I wanted without any convincing. I wish I could have screenshot her face though when we told her that we wanted her to make our custom ketubah. She was so honored, and we are so excited to have a friend design this for us. It will make our ketubah even more special to us as we believe in supporting and helping our friends. Besides all this, life has just been too crazy to really focus on wedding planning when the big stuff is taken care of and the wedding is 8 months away.

Real Jewish Brides: Orli on Her Original Wedding Date

16/09/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Orli will be marrying Ben on 30th May 2021 at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, UK. Click here to read all Orli’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Orli and Ben met on Jswipe. (2) Although their venue, the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, couldn’t be more quintessentially London, Orli and Ben are going for a countryside feel. (3) Orli is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

Sunday 6 September 2020 was nothing that I could have imagined it to be. Not as expected, but such a fabulous day filled with wonderful memories. There were tears as I woke and a wave of emotion hit me that it was not our wedding day. As I looked over to Ben who was still asleep, it might have not have been the day we anticipated but we still had each other which is the most important thing.

Real Jewish Brides: Jenna on Making the Most of Postponement

09/09/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Jenna will be marrying Mat on 13th June 2021 at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Arizona. Click here to read all Jenna’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Jenna + Mat have known each other all their lives – they met when they were both one-year-old at a baby class! (2) Their relationship began at the University of Arizona in March 2012 (3) Mat proposed at Jenna’s parents house in December 2018

It’s so crazy to think that our wedding was supposed to be in 16 days (from the date I’m writing this post, 8/21/20). September 6, 2020 was supposed to be our wedding date. But we postponed at the end of May to June 13, 2021 due to being cautious with Covid (the dreaded C-word), and that we wouldn’t be able to have the wedding we dreamed of with all our friends and family there.  For my fiancé and I, while we hate having to wait 9 extra months to get married, not having all of our friends and family at our ceremony especially (and the fact that dancing looked like it wouldn’t be able to happen) made us feel strongly that we wanted to postpone the wedding.

Real Jewish Brides: Jos on her original wedding date

02/09/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Jos will be marrying Daniel in March 2021 at Hackney Town Hall, London, UK. Click here to read all Jos’ planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Before meeting Daniel, Jos was known for her torrid dating tales – so much so that her friends used to call her Bridget Jonestein! (2) Daniel proposed to Jos in the Greek island of Naxos! (3) Jos is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

In another life, the 27th June 2020 would have played out very differently. The plan had been crafted months ago. Firstly, me, my bridesmaids, my mum, aunt, sisters in law, cousins, and grandma would decamp to one of my favourite London haunts: Pivonie Nail spa in Belsize village. Having been a regular there since they opened, myself and my girls Aya and Lily (they’re the best) had already decided that Fairy Tailor by Essie would be the colour of my wedding nails.

I had pretty much intended on booking it out so that every female I hold dear could be pampered before our wedding. In the evening, I’d asked for as many of my bridesmaids as we’re comfortable to come and hang out at my parents, my bestie Taylor and I already decided which side of the double bed on the top floor of my parent’s house we’d be sleeping on the night before I got married. I’m fairly sure I requested a movie to watch, probably something like Pitch Perfect, nothing wedding themed to be honest.
