We’re totally obsessed with Lindsayand Corey’s incredible venue for their Jewish wedding. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens would be right at home in, say, Tuscany, or southern Spain – but it’s actually right in the middle of Miami!
We’d be hard-pressed to think of a venue more romantic than this one, and we love the way the bride let the vintage surroundings serve as a showcase for her old-new design sense, with touches like antique French lace, old floral dishes, candles, vintage furniture, and reclaimed farmhouse tables. And her uber-romantic vintage-style Vera Wang gown could not have fit the surroundings any more perfectly.
And we haven’t even gotten to the epic floral chuppah yet. Seriously, it’s a stunner, with wooden poles adorned with curly willow branches, blush white and ivory florals, moss accents and ethereal greenery – and the delicate ketubah in soft greens the couple chose from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubah.com complemented it perfectly.
Photographer Maloman Studios and videographer Eric Hires captured each and every detail of this gorgeous day so perfectly – do keep scrolling to see all the wonderful touches that made this wedding a true standout.
How we met
Lindsay, the bride: We met at the University of Arizona and were two dorm rooms down from one another freshman year. For Corey it was love at first sight!
A Garden Wedding
We got married at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami, FL. I chose the venue because I went there and it took my breath away.
Old and New
My taste has always gravitated towards a mix of old and new. I wanted to play off the beauty of Vizcaya and bring in some things that I cherish like antique french lace, old floral dishes, candles, vintage furniture, reclaimed farmhouse tables, and lots of greenery.
My mom was also my rock through the entire processes – every phone call for the past year and a half revolved around the wedding. She went to 50 stores to find the perfect floral napkin for cocktail hour. None of this would have been possible without her!
Hummingbird Invites
The invitations were custom made, letter pressed invitations in pale lavender/purple with loosely draped flowers and hummingbirds.
We had an escort wall display – it had natural ivory cardstock with gold calligraphy and blush dip dyed. It had beautiful flowers and greenery with hanging moss – the guests loved it and used it as their backdrop for pictures.
Hair + Makeup
Natural makeup with long loose beach ways. I wanted to be the best version of who I really am.
A Vera Wang Dress
I wore the Vera Wang Audrey Gown from the Spring 2019 collection. I was the first one in the United States to wear it! It was the 2nd dress i tried on and I knew it was the one. The dress is entirely ivory lace with a nude under slip. The neck is high and the sleeves are finger length and belled. It has a cathedral length train and is absolutely beautiful!
Accessories
I wore my mother’s Van Cleef diamond, mismatched butterfly earrings – and that’s all the dress needed!
Manolos
I wore ivory satin Manolo Blahnik shoes with a kitten heel.
The handsome groom
He wore a custom made, black tuxedo by Martin Greenfield.
Bridesmaids in Blush
My bridesmaids wore a high neck, timeless pale blush gown. They all looked so pure and fresh which complemented my look.
Willow Chuppah
The chuppah was a 4-post wooden chuppah adorned with curly willow branches, blush white and ivory florals, moss accents and ethereal greenery.
Ceremony
We wrote our own vows and Corey’s were especially touching (not a dry eye in the house!).
We had vintage white iron garden chairs that I absolutely loved! Scattered assortment of rose petals which marked the isle. The kiddish cups and tallis were family heirlooms which we were so excited to incorporate in the ceremony.
Our music choice
Bride entrance: ‘She’s A Rainbow’ by the Rolling Stones
First dance: ‘Harvest Moon’ by Neil Young
Recessional: ‘Better Together’ by Jack Johnson
Processional: ‘Crazy Love’ by Van Morrison
We also had a jazz player play hip hop during cocktail hour which was super fun!
Flowers
I wanted it looking very organic. Garden flowers in blush, pale blue, and ivory with textured greenery. Julia Rohde Designs made it all come to life!
We had a beautiful 6′ wide greenery and floral wreath suspended over the dance floor with a large vintage chandelier. All of the tables had a different mix of flowers – with antique gold lanterns, bud vases, crystal bowls and vintage trays. it was all truly magical!
Photographer
We knew the moment we met Stephan of Maloman Studios! For the videographer we wanted it shot on 16mm film so we immediately gravitated towards Eric Hires.
Cake
Half naked cake in a very pale blush color with beautiful flowers by Julia Rohde. Half of the cake was strawberry and the other half coconut – simply delicious!
Entertainment
Tropics Entertainment – they know how to get the party started! Everyone was on the dance floor the entire time and they played the perfect mix of songs.
Popcorn Favors
We had popcorn – seriously crack! Half of the bags were cookies and cream and the other truffle parm.
Speeches
My dad’s speech especially touched me – he always adds fun to the group. At the end of his speech he made all the guests stand up and asked that they give hugs to their neighbors 🙂
