A Samantha Sleeper Bride for a Magical, Musical Jewish Wedding at the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue and Old Billingsgate, London, UK

How as your first night of Hannukah last night? I love this time of year with latkes, donuts, candles, and presents! And before we dive into today’s stunning Jewish wedding do check out my TWO Hannukah gifts to you if you’re a bride-to-be!

So today’s wedding is jaw-on-the floor… That chuppah. That veil. That London summer sunshine. That gorgeous couple! This Jewish wedding is 100% pure magic, from start to finish.

Being that Adam is a filmmaker and Chloe is a photographer, it’s not surprising that ALL the visual details are totally on point. Take that chuppah. You might think such a wild natural design would look out of place in the uber-traditional synagogue setting.

But you’d be wrong. You could’ve fooled us into thinking a lovely little thicket of trees just happened to sprout up in the middle of the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue and we’d have believed you, that’s how perfect a fit it is.

Or Chloe’s dress (and veil!) from Samantha Sleeper — it’s the absolute perfect combination of elegance and whimsy, and those hand-sewn blush silk flowers on the veil?! OBSESSED.

Being pros themselves, the couple demanded nothing less than the best when it came to photography, and did they ever find it in Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor The Crawleys! From the emotion to the gorgeous details to the wild dancing, they captured every single moment so incredibly beautifully. By the time we finished looking through their exceptional photos, we honestly felt like we’d been there.

With Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Jonny Mosesson on hand to deliver one of his trademark soulful performances at the chuppah, we’re hard pressed to think of anything that could have made this wedding better.

But here’s one: This multitalented couple also gave a pretty epic musical performance themselves, with Adam on guitar and Chloe on vocals — no big deal in the middle of your big day, right?! You don’t want to miss Juno Wedding Films’ recording of the big moment — or any other details of this exceptional day, for that matter.

Alright, take it away, gorgeous Chloe!

How we met

Chloe, the bride: We met through a set up of mutual friends! Chloe was living in Israel and Adam in London and we emailed one another for months before meeting! Top tip – never say never, anything can happen!

All in the Family

We had our ceremony at the Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in St. Johns Wood as the groom’s parents and grandparents were both married there and it was very special to us! Our party was at Old Billingsgate in London.

A Fab Planner

We had the most amazing wedding planner, Natalie Cole! She’s based in London and Israel and she was amazing!

Invitations from Canada

We got our invitations made in Canada by the amazingly talented Idyll.

Hair+Makeup

My hair and makeup were done by the most talented and beautiful Cassy Avraham. We met in Israel a few years ago and she came over especially for the wedding from Australia!

A Samantha Sleeper Dress

Choosing the dress was a struggle. Based between London and New York we had the luxury of shopping around! I must have tried on over 150 dresses until I accidentally stumbled upon Samantha Sleeper on Instagram and fell totally in love with her designs and her!

Samantha is a creative and soulful genius! She is based in Brooklyn, New York, but travels around! She even flew out to London for the wedding and literally put me in the dress! She was a dream from beginning to end and has become a very special person to both of us!

A Blush Veil

Samantha made my veil, and it was covered in hand-sewn blush-colored silk flowers! I wore a hairpiece form an Australian designer, Ulyanna Aster, and earrings by English jewellery designer Luna Bea.

Dream Flowers

Our entire wedding was done by Craig White, who is also a creative genius! He made what we wanted into something bigger and better and fulfilled all our dreams (even the ones we didn’t know we had)!

Photography

THE CRAWLEYS! We are both photographers and filmmakers so this was an epic task. We were looking for a team that would be able to deliver EXACTLY what we wanted! Especially for such a crazy lively bunch of people!

WOW did they deliver! We’re sold. Every life event they will be with us! That’s a promise!

Our videographer, Dan, was on FIRE ! If we could have him follow us around on all our adventures we totally would. His team was the absolute dream team and can’t thank them enough!

Entertainment

Our music for the ceremony was so beautiful and absolutely perfect thanks to Jonny Mosesson.

Our music for the party was Musika.

We performed a song at the wedding in dedication to someone special! It was kinda epic! See video 😉

Advice to couples currently planning their wedding

The best piece of advice I got was from a friend of mine on the day of the wedding. Just before I walked out of the bridal room and into the ceremony, she said to me, “Remember a bride can make a person feel special, or irrelevant, it’s up to you.”

This meant so much to me, it was a reminder to step outside yourself on the day and not get caught up in all the tiny details. It’s the people around you that just want to celebrate and pray and party with you. With that in mind I was able to try and connect with everyone on the day and share our joy with the people around us in an inclusive and memorable way for everyone.
