A Mia Pava Bride for a Joyous Jewish Wedding at Olmaya, Jerusalem, Israel

07/04/2025 by Karen Cinnamon

Jerusalem is such a special place to get married – Tamar and Noam’s big day at Olmaya, featuring a stunning outdoor chuppah with majestic views of the Old City, is really something else.

This was such an iconically only-in-Israel wedding, and we are all about it. Tamar and Noam chose Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Tzahi Shemesh to photograph their day, and they couldn’t have been any more thrilled with the results – take a scroll through his incredible, heartfelt images and you’ll see why. Plus, the couple can’t stop raving about how much they loved working with him, and how comfortable and fun he made their wedding day photos!

Tamar chose the most gorgeous gown by Israeli designer Mia Pava, and we can’t get enough of her beautiful, whimsical bridal style.

Read on for all the details in the bride’s own words…

How We Met

Tamar, the bride: We met in eighth grade when Noam moved to Philadelphia!

A Jerusalem Wedding

We got married at Olmaya on the promenade of Jerusalem overlooking the old city. We felt this place signified the epitome of getting married in Israel.

Theme + Planner

The color of our wedding was blue, both of our favorite colors and both of our eye colors. Our wedding planner was Debbie Nussbaum, who was incredible from start to finish.

A Mia Pava Dress

My dress was from Mia Pava, who is so sweet and talented. My dress was not at all what I had originally imagined for myself, but it was so beautiful and whimsical and unique!

Ceremony

My favorite part of the ceremony was when all the bridesmaids and groomsmen danced down the aisle!

Our music choice

We had a band for most of the wedding and a DJ for the afterparty. We ran in to the song ‘I’m good’ my favorite hype song!

Flowers

We used Cal from Yarok Yarok. we did a mixture of high and low flower arrangements so the room would feel appropriately filled.

Photographer and videographer

We used Tzahi Shemesh for photography. He was so fun to work with and made the pictures incredibly comfortable and fun! We used Yossi Shaker for videography. I cant even express how talented he is. Our video turned out better than I ever could have imagined. I cant stop watching it even 7 months later!

Advice to couples currently planning their wedding

Make sure you have enough time to do everything you need/want to do! I wish I had more time to take pictures with my bridesmaids, pray, and sit on my Kisseh Kalah to give people blessings.
