There’s nothing like an Israeli wedding. And we’re especially in love with the beautiful Jewish wedding of Cassie, a social media manager, and Yona, who works in construction, who met while working together in Jerusalem’s Old City. Both nature lovers, we’re obsessed with the way the pair brought their enthusiasm for the outdoors into their big day.
They opted to wed at Ramat Rachel, a kibbutz in the outskirts of Jerusalem full of wild greenery, with a verdant ketubah strewn with pink and white flowers to match. They even opted for a gorgeous nature-inspired ketubah from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor The Delicate Brush. We’re crazy about the exquisite, joyous photos from Jonny Finkel Photography and videography by Shlomi Tzur.
Music also played a big role in Cassie and Yona’s wedding, with Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor DJ Naor keeping the guests on the dance floor until the end of the night, and the bride’s family surprising her with an original song! The bridesmaids and groomsmen got in on the action too, secretly working with the groom to choreograph a dance they all did together to surprise the bride. Aww!
Now over to Cassie, who looked like an absolute princess in her David’s Bridal gown and rose gold glitter sneakers by Keds – Kate Spade…
Natural Vibes
We got married at Ramat Rachel which is a kibbutz in the outskirts of Jerusalem. We fell in love with all the nature when we went to visit the venue for the first time and we were sold.
All about the Outdoors
We’re super thankful for all our vendors for personalizing our big day and making it so special. Our theme was blush pink and greenery. My husband and I love being in the outdoors.
Invitation
It was special to me because I made it myself! It was hard work but totally worth it.
Hair + Make-up
My cousin is an amazing makeup artist and did a beautiful soft glam on my face. My hair was curled with some volume on the top to place my tiara nicely all thanks to a dear friend of mine, Sara. I truly felt like a princess.
A David’s Bridal Dress
My dress was from David’s Bridal. When my mom and I went to look at dresses it was the first one I tried on and I fell in love. It is a beautiful ball gown that made me feel like an enchanted princess.
Accessories
I have a veil and tiara that I also picked out from David’s Bridal. The only other jewelry I wore was earring that my mom kindly picked out for me.
Kate Spade Keds
My shoes were rose gold sparkly sneakers by Keds – Kate Spade. So comfortable and cute!!
The handsome groom
Yona looked beyond handsome, I couldn’t control the tears. He wore a customized suit from Indochino and his shoes and bow tie were from Nordstrom.
Bridesmaids
I had 7 bridesmaids who wore different style dresses in the shade blush pink. They all looked so cute and complemented each other perfectly.
Floral Chuppah
I looked on Pinterest to find exactly I wanted. We ended up going with lots of greenery covering the chuppah with beautiful pink and white flowers. It was outstanding thanks to Sara Winter.
We loved our star gazing ketubah by The Delicate Brush – Rachelle Tchiprout.
My favorite part of the ceremony was standing under the chuppah with my future hubby. It was such a powerful moment for me.
Our music choice
My husband walked down to ‘Mi Adir’ and I walked down to ‘Boi Kallah’. Our first dance was at the end of the night and it was to our song called ‘Better Together’ by Jack Johnson.
Flowers
Thanks to Sara Winter for making my Pinterest board come to life with my gorgeous blush pink and greenery bouquet.
Photographer
I found Jonny Finkel Photography on Facebook and fell in love with his photography style. He did an engagement shoot for us and I knew he was the one to capture our big day.
Our videographer was Shlomi Tzur who did an incredible job putting our entire wedding into a 3 min video for us.
Food and cake
Our food was catered by the venue which was delicious! We had a candy bar with a cake made by the venue and assorted pink candies brought from party city in the states.
An Amazing DJ
We chose to use a DJ for the entire night and we could not recommend DJ Naor more. He kept the party going until the end of the night.
My family surprised us with a song they made, it was so cute and personal. Later in the evening our bridesmaids and groomsman did a dance they made for us and little did I know my hubby was in on it the whole time! He surprised me by dancing at the end of the song.
Favours
We had our benchers layed our on the tables for our guests to take home if they’d like.
Honeymoon
We didn’t go on a honeymoon. We took a few days off after the wedding and rented a car to take to the kinneret. Was super relaxing!
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
I would recommend making sure that your dress is bustled very well. Unfortunately, all the strings ripped off my dress and we were barely able to bustle my dress which made it super hard to dance throughout the night. Also to bring an extra dress shirt for the hubby especially if your wedding is in the summer and you’re sweating.
