An Essense of Australia Bride for a Sunset Jewish Wedding at Cochav Hayam in Caesarea, Israel

29/11/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish Wedding Cochav Hayam in Caesarea, Israel_0226

Okay, we just can’t even with that sunset chuppah. Truly the stuff Jewish wedding dreams are made of. But would you believe it if we told you that wasn’t even the most remarkable thing about the incredible wedding of STG Brides Club member  (and blogging bride) Lindsay, an insight manager at a media agency, to groom Dan, an account manager working in corporate events?

So first of all, we’re OBSESSED with Lindsay and Dan’s table plan: they got a polaroid of every guest, then wrote a personal note on the back. These were all laid out for guests to collect as they came in and find their table numbers. Genius!

We’re also super inspired that these two worked with non-profit Israel Blooms, an organization that will collect flowers leftover at the end of the wedding and repurpose them into small arrangements that they distribute in hospitals and old age homes. What a meaningful (and easy) way to spread the joy of your big day!

The couple’s photos from Idan Canfi and video from Ruslan Shane are simply sensational, and we love that Lindsay and Dan opted to have a separate couple’s photoshoot a couple of days after the wedding – this allowed them to get some dreamy portraits without them having to take time out of the wedding for photos. Such a smart idea!

Oh, and did we mention that Lindsay and Dan are working with the incredible Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Abby Taubman of Colletts Travel to plan their honeymoon to Australia and Thailand next year?

Now over to the bride, who looked lovely in her Essense of Australia dress…

How we met

Lindsay, the bride: We met through my cousin’s wife. She was an old school friend of Dan’s and decided that we would be a great match – and she was right!

An Enzoani Bride for a Fun-Filled Interfaith Jewish Wedding with DIY Touches at Wharfedale Grange, Yorkshire, UK

18/11/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish-wedding-Wharfedale-Grange-Yorkshire-UK

We love it when a couple puts fun at the top of their wedding planning agenda. And that’s exactly what STG Brides Club member Sophie and groom David did when planning their interfaith Jewish wedding.

Well, fun AND making sure all of their guests felt included in the big day, regardless of background. Between the non-religious civil ceremony (which included a gospel choir and a poem from ‘Sex and the City’!) and a standard Jewish wedding format including touches like Israeli dancing, we think they hit the balance just right.

Photographers All You Need Is Love were chosen for their relaxed, fun style, and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor York Place Studios handled videography in their trademark documentary style, which meant they captured all the couple’s meaningful moments in a totally natural way.

The other thing we love about this wedding is the beautiful DIY touches. First off, how cool is it that Sophie made her own rose petal confetti?! Such a fun project – and it makes those smashing confetti shots that much more special.

Sophie also happens to have a mega-talented dad who crafted the retro illuminated sign over the dance floor (it read ‘Brand New Isaacs’ to match the couple’s #abrandnewisaacs hashtag – the bride’s name was Brand and the groom’s is Isaacs).

Now over to the bride, who looked beautiful in Enzoani…

How we met

Sophie, the bride: We met at work in Leeds, when I joined the big accountancy firm that David had already been at a couple of years. We didn’t get together straight away, with David moving to London soon after we met, but a year or so later I moved to London too and we got together at that point.

After several years having the best time living in London we decided to move back to Yorkshire, where we now both work as private equity investors – in very similar roles but at different companies!

A Sharon Cunningham Bride for a Jewish Interfaith Wedding with a Feather Chuppah at The Hyatt Churchill Hotel, London, UK

24/04/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

We see a lot of chuppah designs here at STG. But today’s Jew-ish wedding’s got one that’s totally new to us: a feather chuppah!

Jay, a fitness instructor and head trainer at F45 Camden (and one of our wonderful real blogging brides), and Tom, who works in recruitment at Facebook, wanted something their guests hadn’t seen before, and we’re pretty sure they succeeded. The wild feathered top paired with the clean translucent columns make for such a striking look.

The chic style – not to mention the emotion and fun of the day – was captured perfectly by Paul Toeman Photographers and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Denee Motion on video. Watching their fab trailer makes us feel like we were right there in the thick of it.

And this is one wedding we truly do wish we could have attended. Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor the Function Band knows how to throw a party – the couple reports that guests packed the dancefloor all night, and that even months after the big day people are still telling them how awesome their band was. Bradley of the Function Band also served as the day-of coordinator, and managed the day so that Jay and Rom could sit back and relax.

Now over to the bride…

How we met

Jay, the bride: We met on Tinder just over 5 years ago, I don’t think either one of us thought that with the swipe of a finger you could find your soulmate but for us it worked. We are an amazing team, support each other through anything!

A Mori Lee Bride for a City Chic Jewish Wedding at St. Pancras Renaissance, London, UK

09/07/2018 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish wedding St Pancras Renaissance London UK_0048
Okay, how much do we love Natasha and Tal’s wisteria chuppah?! SO romantic, and yet somehow also understated, since the couple kept everything else about the structure super simple. What a great reminder that you don’t necessarily have to go all out and do something super dramatic and involved to have a beautiful, memorable chuppah at your Jewish wedding.

There’s so much more that was beautiful and memorable about this day, too — you’ve got to check out Smashing the Glass Recommended Vendor David Pullum’s photos of all the action. But if you just see one, make sure it’s the pic where Natasha’s being tossed six feet in the air (!) on a tablecloth – scroll a bit, and you won’t miss it. It’s pretty dramatic, and we’re not even a little surprised that guests are still talking about it.

From that photo alone, you can probably guess that Natasha and Tal had a pretty rockin’ party. That was partly thanks to Smashing the Glass Recommended Vendor The Function Band, who the couple describe as “truly show-stopping.” They made sure the dance floor was packed all night, and guests are still remarking on their fantastic performance.

Now we’ll turn you over to Natasha, who looked stunning in her Mori Lee dress…

A London Venue

Natasha, the bride: We got married at St Pancras Renaissance. We were struggling to find a venue that we agreed on. We walked up to the front of the venue and were instantly wowed. We walked around imaging the photographs and knew it was going to be the one.

A Mediterranean Garden Destination Jewish Wedding at El Cortijo de los Caballos in Marbella, Spain

15/06/2018 by Karen Cinnamon

Destination Jewish Wedding El Cortijo De Los Caballos La Finca Marbella Spain_0030

We’re always thrilled to blog the weddings of our real blogging brides, and we could not be more excited to feature beautiful Hayley’s sun-drenched Spanish wedding to Ashley at El Cortijo de los Caballos.

We loved reading along with Hayley as she went through the process of converting to Judaism during her engagement, and couldn’t be more proud to see her and Ashley standing under their lovely DIY chuppah, which put folded umbrellas to use as poles, draped in tulle and lace — including a square from Hayley’s dress! Check it out in Anna Gazda’s luminous photos.

This wedding was chock full of personal touches… between custom kippot inscribed with “Man Utd Rule” with footballs printed on them, as a nod to Ashley’s chosen team, to a very memorable rap by the bridesmaids (they turned Ice Ice Baby into “Ash Ash Hayley”!) Hayley and Ashley injected so much personality into their fun-filled day.

And to make sure their wedding was a party to remember, the couple flew out Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Totem as their band! Performing at both the ceremony and reception, Hayley and Ashley credit their fab band with making the party happen — and report that guests are still telling them how great the music was!

Now over to Hayley, who was lucky enough to have her gorgeous princess gown was custom designed for her by her new sister-in-law, who used to be a pro bridal wear designer…

How we met

Hayley, the bride: We met online through Tinder, although I’m sure Ash told a few people we met at a bar in Shoreditch!
