A Mikaella Bridal Bride for a Jewish Persian American Spring-Themed Wedding at Avenue, Tel Aviv, Israel

27/10/2017 by Karen

Jewish wedding at Avenue, Tel Aviv, Israel_0002
Oh my goodness, there is SO much to gush about today’s gorgeous Jewish Tel Aviv wedding. First of all WHAT A CHUPPAH! What a setting for a spring-themed wedding, under a beautiful white chuppah, adorned with greenery and roses. So romantic.

Gabrielle and Tomer met in LA and decided that a wedding in the Holy Land was the only way to go. Planning the whole thing from overseas must have had its challenges, but just look at those stunning results!

The wedding hashtag #TheJooons, was just one way the happy couple paid homage to Gabrielle’s Persian/American heritage. We won’t spoil that story, or the rest, for you, you’ll have to read on, but we’re already in love with these brilliant traditions.

Photographer Eyal Zalzberg didn’t just capture the mood and story of the day, but also created some SERIOUSLY incredible images around Tel Aviv’s trendy neighorhoods, and we’re simply head over heels for the romantic and dreamy wedding highlights film by videographer Nati Shoko.

We’ll pass you on to Gabrielle for all of the planning details – we’d say “get Pinning”, but we’re pretty sure you won’t be able to stop yourselves anyway!

How we met

Gabrielle, the bride: We first met online in Los Angeles (the good, old-fashioned, new way). We talked for a couple months off and on through texting and email before we even decided to meet in person. Our first date was at a bar in Santa Monica, and the rest is history.

Real Jewish Brides – Mel: An Interview with my Fiancà©!

17/10/2017 by Smashing The Glass

Mel  will be marrying Mitch on Sunday 18 March 2018, in a Jewish wedding at Warren Weir at Luton Hoo, UK.

THREE FACTS: (1) Mel and Mitch met online on JDate (2) Their Jewish wedding will be classy and traditional with plenty of modern touches  (3) Mel is a member of Smashing The Glass’s private Jewish & Jew-ish Brides Facebook Group. Not yet a member? Come join us here!

The Groom’s Perspective

Every post I have written so far is about my thoughts and experiences to planning the wedding so I thought it was about time to have a role reversal. This is all about Mitch and his perspective on planning our wedding.

Picture the scene, Mitch and I sat comfortably on our L-shaped sofa in our lounge. Me wrapped in my blanket with a cup of green tea. And Mitch in his grandpa slippers trying not to laugh at my attempt at being a chat show host. I wanted to ease us both in to this ‘role play’ so I started with an easy question…

A Pronovias Bride for a Family-Oriented Jewish Wedding at The Foundry in Buffalo, NY, USA

13/10/2017 by Karen

Leah and Dave are just the cutest. They met on JDate and quickly discovered they already had mutual connections and were absolutely meant to be.

We LOVE how much of a family affair their wedding was: Leah’s father  built the chuppah under which the gorgeous couple conducted their ceremony, while Dave’s mom crocheted kippot for everyone in their wedding colors – so adorbs! Each had a different design and a tag on the inside with the bride and groom’s names and the wedding date. The project took an entire year and we love the bride’s mom so much for it!

Beautiful bride, Leah, chose to pair her elegant glasses with a stunning Pronovias gown and looks beyond gorgeous.

The sweet-toothed couple, who both work with food, decided against a tiered cake, and opted, instead, for a sweet buffet complete with a heart-shaped donut wall. Yes please!

Oh… and wait until you set eyes upon their guest book / one-of-a-kind artwork – an absolute must-steal!

All of the joy, love and laughter was captured by Ayres Photography, and the wonderful writeup was provided by Leah. We’re sure you’ll love reading every moment of her and Dave’s big day.

How we met

Leah, the bride: We met on JDate. Dave had messaged me, but I ignored it because he had a girl in his profile picture with him! Eventually I caved and accepted the message and we wrote back and forth for a few days before meeting. We met and had a great time, but I had a date planned with another guy a few nights later so I was keeping an open mind. Fortunately, the date ended up being horrible, and I called Dave as soon as I left and met him out. We’ve pretty much been together ever since. As we got to know each other, we found out that even with him being from Long Island and me from Buffalo, we had some crazy connections…

When I moved to Florida at 21, I became friends with a girl from Long Island and had since stayed in touch with her. It turns out Dave’s sister worked at Red Lobster with her in high school, and at the time his best friend was valet parking at the same restaurant she was working at! Dave had also done an internship with someone on Long Island who is an aunt to one of my friend’s husbands – a bit of a reach, but still a connection! It always seemed like we were met to be together right from the start.

Real Jewish Brides – Mel: Our Ceremony, Our Way

12/09/2017 by Smashing The Glass

Mel  will be marrying Mitch on Sunday 18 March 2018, in a Jewish wedding at Warren Weir at Luton Hoo, UK.

As I eluded to in my previous post, it’s so easy to get lost in the ‘luxuries’ of a wedding and forget about the actual marriage part!

Like most brides I got extremely excited to start planning our wedding as soon as we got engaged. The first task for us was finding a venue. We were really clear about what we wanted, and what we didn’t want. Which meant our search for a venue was proving difficult — it wasn’t as easy as I expected to find a venue outside of London that was big enough to accommodate our guests and have enough indoor space to avoid ‘changing over’ rooms between the ceremony and meal. Having a March wedding, we couldn’t rely on the weather being good enough to have an outdoor ceremony. After hours of research and many trips visiting venues all over Essex and Hertfordshire, we found our dream venue –Warren Weir… in Bedfordshire.

Our next task was finding a band. Followed by a photographer, videographer and florist.

A Stunning Super Luxe Peony-filled Jew-ish Destination Wedding at Buranco Vineyard, Cinque Terre, Italy

08/09/2017 by Karen

SWOON! That’s us right now, at STG HQ, swooning away at this jaw-dropping Jew-ish Italian destination wedding.

Now that we’ve picked ourselves up off the floor, let’s get into the reasons Maggie and Ben’s super luxe celebration in stunning Cinque Terre is just SO sublime!

Let’s start with the fabulous destination. Maggie and Ben love to travel, and together they’ve seen the world. In keeping with their globetrotting history, they felt a divine destination was the way to go, so just think of the competition Cinque Terre had to beat to be selected for such an honor.

Cinque Terre, of course, is that gorgeous, colorful Italian coastal town you see every time you open a travel guide on the world’s most beautiful places.

Just when you think a place like that couldn’t get any more beautiful, enter Maggie and Ben, with their incredible, chic and fashion-forward wedding dà©cor, bright and bold color scheme and sensational floral arrangements. The result? A total feast for the eyes.

Beautiful bride, Maggie, is in architecture and design, so of course every last detail was perfect, especially with the help and keen eye of Cinque Terre Wedding.

A wedding that was just as lovely on the inside as it was to look at, both the bride and groom’s respective fathers officiated their Jew-ish ceremony, and every choice was filled with heart and personal meaning for the couple.

Photographer, Facibeni Fotografia, and videographer, S-Bros, each did an amazing job of capturing the day- it almost feels like we were there! We’ll hand you over to Maggie now for the full writeup of her magical destination wedding.

How we met

Maggie, the bride: We met on match.com in 2007, and quickly learned that our paths should have crossed more than once over the course of our lives; we were both born and raised in Massachusetts, both had some history in Scottsdale, Arizona, and both finally settled in Los Angeles.

Ben finally proposed after almost nine years of dating, on a trip we had been planning to Bali and Vietnam over the holidays in 2015. Our family and friends were already expecting a destination wedding, and after a proposal in Bali and engagement celebration “tour” through Vietnam, we knew we had to follow it with an equally amazing wedding!
