An Epic Alice in Wonderland-themed Jewish Forest Wedding in Israel

05/07/2017 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish Wedding Alice in Wonderland Israel_0029
What happens when two event planners get married? Only the most epic Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding of all time. No, seriously, not to go all Kanye on you, but of all time.

Bride Lihi has always loved Alice in Wonderland, with the story following her throughout key points of her life. So, naturally, when it came to marrying fellow event designer Ido, the pair began planning out how to bring the book to life with immaculate attention to detail.

From the stunning forest venue to the astounding floral china centrepieces, the abundance of colorful flowers (assembled by a team of ten florists!) and props to the actors who, in full costume, interacted with the guests, the wedding was just like stepping into the classic novel.

Let’s take a second to talk about Lihi’s show-stopping Zahavit Tshuba dress, with its lace top and tulle skirt – the absolute definition of Israeli chic, with all of the boldness and personality that we adore in Israeli brides.

The day, with its quirky and original paper flower chuppah, was beautifully shot by our dear friend and much-loved STG Recommended Vendor, Ran Bergman. Thank goodness, as this was truly worth preserving!

We’ll leave you now with the amazing images and Lihi’s account of her and Ido’s magical wedding day. Take it away, Lihi…

A Colorful Spring Jewish Wedding at The East Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel

26/06/2017 by Karen

Jewish-Wedding-East-Tel-Aviv-Israel-234
Summer is truly here, and what better way to celebrate than with a Michal and Shem’s bright and beautiful Tel Aviv wedding.

There’s always something so cool about the way Tel Aviv couples do things, and Michal and Shem were no exception. Juxtaposing fresh, spring blooms against an industrial, urban backdrop, everything about the wedding is so true to the Tel Aviv bohemian city babe vibe.

The gorgeous details, including the creative pinwheel display behind the chuppah and the beautiful sprayed bottle table numbers, were all captured with aplomb by our much-loved Recommended Vendor, photographer Luz Weddings. We’re also swooning over the absolutely creative and chic couple shots! We’re almost as in love as Michal and Shem look!

We’re really into Michal’s bridal style, including her Limor Rosen dress, complete with pockets! We’ll leave you in Michal’s capable hands for the full story – take it away, Michal!

How we met

Michal, the bride: We worked together at a coffee shop. We started out as friends, and one time after a night out with all our friends from work we ended up alone with each other, and here we are after six years…

A magical Israeli-Australian forest Jewish wedding at Tsel Hadumim, Ben Shemen forest, Israel

26/05/2017 by Karen

People – prepare yourselves: there is an abundance of pretty in this real wedding, and even we’re struggling to handle it – and we do this all the time!

We’re always in awe of Israeli weddings – the natural beauty of the place never fails to make for a stunning backdrop, and Israeli venues just know how to do magic like nobody else. Abigail and Roei’s last-minute celebration looked anything but hasty, in fact, it was absolutely packed with Israeli charm.

The day was captured by our oft-featured and much-loved STG Recommended Vendor, Herschel Gutman, who did an incredible job of translating the heart and thought that went into each choice into stunning, timeless images.

Gorgeous Abigail’s Australian-cool vibe brought an added factor of effortless chic, and her choice of dress, a unique, lacy number by Israeli designer, Adi Groman, was just perfect – a bohemian fairytale.

We adore the significance of the path to the chuppah, which was lined with the Shiv’at HaMinim (the Seven Species from the Bible), making the journey to the ceremony even more poignant.

On the wedding morning, Roei had a minor medical emergency – and not everything ran smoothly. But, once these two lovebirds locked eyes at the chuppah, none of that mattered. We can all learn from that.

Over to Abigail for the full story on her and Roei’s stunning wedding day:

How we met

Abigail, the bride: in March 2014 I arrived in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica – my last stop after a year of travelling, which included four months in Israel. Roei, who’s Israeli, was there on a surfing trip. We met on the beach and spent a week travelling together (I now know that he had already decided I’d one day be his wife!). I then returned to Australia with the intention of moving to Tel Aviv later in the year to study.

We messaged each other sporadically for six weeks, until Roei finally asked if he could Skype me. From that first conversation, we both pretty much knew. We spent four months Skyping every single day, often for five to six hours at a time (yes, we were both extremely sleep deprived, but we didn’t care!).

At the two-month mark, we decided to meet halfway in Thailand to make sure that we weren’t completely crazy prior to my arrival in Israel. The meeting at the airport was one of the best moments of my life, which I think is now only on par with Roei’s proposal on ‘Roy’s Peak’ in New Zealand and our wedding day.

A floral-fabulous, Jerusalem-themed Jewish wedding at Ein Hemed in the Judea Mountains, Israel

28/04/2017 by Karen

Jerusalem-Themed-Wedding
Some couples feel such a strong, heartfelt connection to Israel, that it comes across in every moment of their wedding day. Dorit and Eli certainly fall into that category.

Having met in Jerusalem, the pair decided to theme their wedding around the city, while embracing the breathtaking natural surroundings of their mountainous Israeli venue.

Stunning bride, Dorit, ran with her creative impulses, creating a floral Eden, with a gorgeous petal-strewn aisle, a Chuppah lined with beautiful blooms and table centrepieces that her guests are still talking about to this day.

She even took her love of flowers to the next level and had a flower station – an outstanding idea that has come up in Israeli weddings before (we’re calling it – trend alert) that we think would be almost criminal not to steal.

Jerusalem’s big, collective, beating heart was proudly on display all over the joyful celebration, with sublime Jerusalem-inspired artwork running through the whole stationery suite, and in Dorit’s Jerusalem skyline headpiece (um, where can we get one, please?). Much-loved Smashing Supplier Herschel Gutman captured all of the dà©cor, as well as the emotion of the day with absolute gusto – the pictures really do speak for themselves.

So sit back and feast your eyes on all of this wedding pretty – we’ll let Dorit talk you through every detail of her and Eli’s dream wedding day.

How we met

Dorit, the bride: I’m a BA degree student studying political science and communications. Eli and I are both Russian speakers, and we met in Israel during a summer camp for Russian-speaking students three years ago.  Last summer, we flew to Belarus for the same camp, this time as counsellors.

A Tuscany-meets-Israel floral Jewish wedding with a Vera Wang bride at Baya’ar, Israel

07/04/2017 by Karen

Israel-Wedding-with-a-Vera-Wang-bride-at-Baya’ar
Friday is finally here – and we’re celebrating the imminent arrival of the weekend in style, with a proper feast for the eyes: Italian couple, Tania and Micael’s, enchantingly floral Tuscany-meets-Israel real wedding.

There’s so much to love about this impeccably designed, dreamy celebration that we’re not sure where to start. First of all, a big round of applause is owed to groom, Micael, for his romantic surprise Paris proposal. We’re even clapping loudly enough to drown out the collective huffy sighs of all the partners for whom the bar has just been spectacularly raised. Well done, Micael!

We’ve featured the absolutely enchanting Israeli venue, Baya’ar, many times on the blog now and with good reason. Every single one has been simply magical, and Tania and Micael’s day was no exception. Every detail, from the breathtaking floral arrangements (including the Chuppah to end all Chuppahs) was simply perfect and captured beautifully by photographer Ilan Mor.

Gorgeous Tania was a picture of fashion-forward bridal style in her show-stopping Vera Wang gown and to-die-for Yves Saint Laurent heels.

The couple did so much to ensure their guests had the time of their lives, including booking our amazing Smashing Supplier, Legend Band, from Caliente, and setting up a flower station, where guests were treated to custom-made flower bracelets and flower crowns! What a brilliant idea!

Don’t forget to watch the incredible work of art created by videographer, Camellia at the foot of the post. We particularly enjoyed the unforgettable shot of Micael smashing the glass – well worth sitting down for a proper watch!

Over to Tania now for the full story on her and Micael’s beautiful nighttime wedding.

How we met

Tania, the bride: I am a fashion buyer and my husband, Micael, is an accountant. We met five years ago and we immediately connected. But after two years, we decided to go our separate ways, until May 2015 when we decided we couldn’t be apart. We started dating again and this time was different. On December 24th at five in the morning, I received a call from Micael telling me that I had to wake up and be ready in 10 minutes.

He covered my eyes and took me to the airport! I didn’t know where we were going until we landed in Paris, where he took to the front of the Eiffel Tower and proposed in the classic way… the rest is history.
