Real Jewish Brides: Orli on Her Yoga Training Journey

17/11/2020 by Smashing The Glass

Orli will be marrying Ben on 30th May 2021 at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, UK. Click here to read all Orli’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Orli and Ben met on Jswipe. (2) Although their venue, the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, couldn’t be more quintessentially London, Orli and Ben are going for a countryside feel. (3) Orli is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

It’s been a couple of months since my last post and whilst I have nothing to report on, wedding related. My last few months have absolutely flown by and I seem to be keeping busy. At the beginning of 2020, I had a plan for my whole year starting with the second weekend of January when I had my first yoga teacher training weekend. It was the best three days that I had had in a long time and I was so happy that I was starting my journey as a yoga teacher, a dream of mine that I had since I finished university.

The first weekend was incredible and it opened my eyes to a totally new journey, I dived straight in embracing myself with the philosophy, the journaling, the breath, the practice and the anatomy.

Fast forward two months and the country was put into lockdown. After discussing with Ben, I began teaching on Zoom twice a week and my practice grew, as the teacher trainings moved to online and my self-practice, my knowledge and love only grew. This teaching has continued and yoga has been an absolute saviour for my sanity this year. I realised I was only at the beginning of my yoga journey, a journey that would be there to support me through thick and thin. A journey that would push me to my limits and make me constantly evolve and develop.
10 months after I began my teacher training journey, I qualified as a yoga teacher and it was such a massive achievement to do it this year when our worlds have got slightly smaller and our perspectives have changed. I am now teaching a few times a week and am delighted to be able to share my yoga journey with friends, colleagues and family members. I run two weekly classes that members of Smashing Life and Brides Club can join on a Wednesday and Sunday. Catch you at my next post, or my next class.

Until then, close your eyes, bring your hands to prayer heart centre and think of three things you are grateful for. There is always joy in everyday even if somedays you have to look slightly harder. Namaste.

PS. Follow my instagram page @oknamaste dedicated to my practice as a yoga instructor on Instagram for more updates and daily insights.
