Real Jewish Brides: Nargiz’s #NoRegrets Bachelorette Party in Vegas

07/08/2019 by Smashing The Glass

Nargiz will be marrying Ryan on 9th November 2019 at Farmington Hills Manor, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA. Click here to read all Nargiz’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Nargiz was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, and the wedding will combine her family’s traditions – they are Mountain Jews, or Gorski, and their culture is a mix of Persian and Middle Eastern influences – and Ryan’s American Ashkenazi background. (2) Nargiz’s mother tragically passed away last summer, so she has been facing wedding planning without her mom by her side. (3) Nargiz is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

Final Check Off

We’ve been engaged for a year now and we have less than 4 months to go.  So far throughout the wedding planning process, I never felt rushed or stressed because we have had so much time. It has been really nice to have the time to pick and choose vendors, to take the time to make calls and meet with people.

I met with my wedding planner June from A June Event last week. We went over a rough timeline of the wedding day and he gave me a list of things I still need to complete. So now that it is getting closer to the wedding day, I need to cross off more and more things off our to do list. Last week was a super productive week thanks to my planner who pushed me to do more like booking valet, party bus, shuttle service for the out of town guests, challah bread, our ketubah, etc.

I also finalized our wedding invites which is making things feel more real! It is such a good feeling to cross things off your list. Does anyone else get satisfaction from doing that? There is still a lot more to do but  with time, it will all be planned. I am trying to stay as stress-free and laid back as possible. I know that a month before the big day, things may get a little crazy but hopefully I will be mentally prepared for it.

#NoRegrets Bach Weekend in Vegas

Another thing I “crossed off” my list which I have been really looking forward to was my bachelorette party weekend in Vegas with some of my closest friends! We went to Vegas on July 26 to July 29th. Although it was super hot, we all had a great time enjoying the great weather, pool, food, music and some girls time!

My best friends Melissa and Rachel decorated my room with the cutest bach party decor! They also made everyone bride tribe favor bags made up of mints, straws, face masks, eye masks, chapstick, etc. It had all the essentials you needed to survive a weekend in Vegas! The theme was “Regret Nothing”.

The bride tribe was 7 girls plus me. My friends were made up of my childhood friends from Hillel (elementary+middle school), high school friends and college friends. Although there were so many different groups of girls from different points of my life, it was nice to have them all together there for me! We did all the things every bach crew does in Vegas – pool party, nightclubs, concerts, gamble, eat at great restaurants and of course, drink. We were also able to see some of the best DJs playing like Diplo, Kygo and the Chainsmokers.

I have some fun friends because one of the nights they planned for us to wear wigs out! It was such a surprise for me and I loved it, they got me a short white haired wig. We went by different names that night, our alter egos. I was Nikita, a spy! It was super fun! That night we went to see the Chippendales (so basic, I know) and we had a blast! I was called up on stage and had the honor of ripping a guys shirt off, that guy happened to be Vinny from the Jersey Shore. LOL. I guess he’s hosting Chippendales all summer long, so that was an interesting experience!

I can’t say too much else about the weekend because after all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! But I will say that I am lucky to have friends who took the time to fly out to Las Vegas with me and spend their time doing what I wanted to do. We stayed up late at night, we partied, we talked, we laughed and we spent the time together we normally are not able to do at home because of household responsibilities, work and family obligations. It felt like we were 21 again! Nothing says true friendship like when your friends are there with you and for you [in good times and bad], and treat you like a queen during your celebrations. Thank you, girls!

Until my next post… the big day, I’m out!
