Six Month Countdown
I can’t believe I’m in the run up to the 6 month countdown! Considering I’ve already been engaged for over a year, the time is seriously flying by! People tell me I’ve got plenty of time which is true, but considering how quickly time is going, I know I need to use this time wisely to plan, prep and organise!

Get me to the synagogue on time
We had a tiny setback last week. I’m not going for a white Rolls Royce or a Bentley for my car. It’s a style that isn’t to my taste and doesn’t match the vibe of our wedding. Instead, I’m arriving in a 1989 Mercedes 300sl — a tiny, old-school convertible! (Don’t worry, the roof will be up to avoid hair disasters.)
I hired the car from an agency who informed me the car has ample space to accommodate my parents and me. However, the driver got in touch directly and is concerned about space. Without giving too much away, my dress isn’t huge, so I don’t think it will be an issue. However, we are going to view the car this weekend to make sure there is enough room. If not, it’s back to the drawing board which isn’t ideal… fingers crossed we all fit!

Quirky Bridesmaid Style
The hunt for the dress commences in a few weeks. I am CONSTANTLY browsing online for inspiration and ideas. I’ve booked two appointments, one with the Wedding Gallery in St Albans and one at David’s Bridal.
Both are solid, safe stores which is the one thing that worries me as I want to find dresses that are a bit unique and quirky. As my wedding is lounge suit, I feel it gives me a bit more flexibility and creativity in terms of style. Floor length, off the shoulder dresses aren’t necessarily the avenue I have to go down.

To Choo, Or Not To Choo
I am in two minds about what shoes to get for my wedding. I am always in favour of comfort over style; however, I have tried on my mum’s pair of Manolo Blahniks and I did feel like Carrie Bradshaw strutting down 5th avenue when wearing them. An amazing designer pair of heels gives you a feeling of confidence and empowerment like nothing else.
That said, I will not wear shoes that will have me limping before the speeches have even begun. I think the best course of action is a smaller block heel, which can be designer or non-designer. As much as I would love a pair of Jimmy Choos, I love the idea of lasting all night on the dance floor more!

And The Planning Continues…
I am trying to plan ahead as much as possible so I can enjoy this relatively relaxing period we are in at the moment. I’m fully preparing myself for the new year to be mad with meetings, spreadsheets, and tackling all the jobs we have to do in order for our vision to come to life. It’s going to be intense, but bring it on!
