We absolutely love Amy and Sammy’s vision for what we like to call a local destination wedding for their big day: the London-based duo wanted to “create the feeling of an abroad-style wedding without actually having to travel overseas, as we wanted to have as many of our friends and family there as possible to celebrate with us.” In gorgeous Langley Park, they found the perfect countryside venue to bring their loved ones together for a full-on wedding weekend away from it all, no flights required.
Amy and Sammy love a party, and it was important to them that their guests had an amazing time at their wedding. Enter Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ambassador Band. Music was a top priority for the duo, and in Amy’s words, “after coming across a ‘Sean Paul Remix’ by Ambassador Band on TikTok, we instantly knew they were the ones for us. They were so cool, had incredible voices, and their repertoire was unlike a typical wedding playlist, which really helped create the atmosphere and keep everyone on the dance floor… Geoff and the band were amazing throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond, helping us with everything from production and staging to lighting, and nothing was ever too much trouble.”

How We Met
Amy, the bride: Sammy was in the year below me at school. He went to Yavneh with my cousin, so although we had crossed paths a number of times we had never actually spoken. We met properly 5 years ago at a mutual friends birthday at Pergola, and went on our first date a week later – as they say, the rest is history!
Venue
We wanted to create the feeling of an abroad-style wedding without actually having to travel overseas, as we wanted to have as many of our friends and family there as possible to celebrate with us. We both love a party and knew we wanted the wedding to feel like a full weekend experience rather than just one day. We also wanted our immediate family to stay with us for the weekend.
We came across Langley Park and from the very first visit we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The house and surrounding grounds were absolutely beautiful, and we loved that it only hosts a limited number of events each year. It made the venue feel even more unique and special, which was exactly what we were looking for.
One of the biggest highlights for us was that it had an underground nightclub for the afterparty – something that Sammy got very excited about as he loves to DJ. It felt like the perfect combination of a beautiful setting for the wedding day and a fun place to party at the end of the night!
Theme
The overall theme of our wedding was lilac with a whimsical feel. Above all, we wanted it to be full of fun. We both love a party, and it was so important to us that our guests had an amazing time too. Whether they had travelled from overseas or made the journey from London, we wanted everyone to leave having had a great time. Looking around the room, it felt as though it was filled with so much love, and that’s one of the things we remember most from our wedding.
I planned the wedding myself, and although many people say wedding planning is stressful, I genuinely loved every moment of it (although there were a few stressful moments along the way!). I enjoyed working closely with all of our suppliers and making all the little detail decisions with Sammy. Seeing everything come together during the room reveal was amazing – I burst into tears because I couldn’t believe our vision had come to life so beautifully!
We also had Nikki Klein as our on-the-day coordinator, and she was absolutely incredible. She supported us in the weeks leading up to the wedding and ensured everything ran seamlessly on the day itself – she really allowed us to truly relax and enjoy the whole day.
Hair + Makeup
Frankie Neal did my makeup, and she was amazing. I had previously worked with Frankie for our engagement party, and my makeup stayed looking flawless all night, so I knew she was the perfect person to trust for the wedding day. She made me feel so confident and beautiful.
Katya Valentina was our hair stylist, and all I can say is wow. I first discovered her through a TikTok video, and when I met her for the first time she instantly put me at ease. She has such a calming and reassuring nature, which was invaluable on the morning of the wedding, and she created the most beautiful hairstyle that stayed perfect throughout the entire day and night.
The whole bridal party looked absolutely beautiful, and they were honestly the dream team!
Dress
My dress was by Milla Nova, which I found at Mirror Mirror in Angel. I’d always loved Milla Nova’s designs, so as soon as I discovered they stocked the brand, I booked an appointment straight away. Surprisingly, it was actually my mum who picked out the dress for me in the shop. The moment I put it on, I just knew it was the one. Everything about it felt perfect – the fabric, all the detailing, and the shape. I’d never seen a dress like it before, and I completely fell in love with it.
Bridesmaids
I had 7 bridesmaids – my sister, cousins, and sisters-in-law. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable so they each chose their own dresses. The mix of different styles and shades of lilac came together and they all looked amazing.
I also had my 3 nieces as my flower girls, which was such a special part of the day. I chose dresses for them that were inspired by my own wedding dress, although they didn’t know this at the time! Seeing their excitement when they realised we were matching was the sweetest moment, and having three mini versions of me walking down the aisle was something I’ll never forget.
Ceremony & Chuppah
Our favourite part of the day was without a doubt the ceremony. Having it outdoors made the setting feel so magical and intimate, and the layout created such a special atmosphere. Standing beneath my dad’s tallis made it even more meaningful – it felt really emotional and surreal to see everything we had been speaking and learning about come to life.
Having my nephew as our ring bearer was another very special touch. It was so sweet to have him play a small, but very important, role in our ceremony – it’s a moment we’ll always remember.
I designed our chuppah with the help of Flowers by Alina (and plenty of Pinterest inspiration!). I wanted it to complement the surroundings while also creating a focal point for the ceremony. The combination of lilac and white flowers tied perfectly into our overall theme, and the finished result was even more beautiful than I could have imagined.
Ketubah
Sammy has a lot of family based in France, who we were lucky enough to have join us for the weekend. One of Sammy’s cousins is an artist, and he very kindly gifted us a beautiful ketubah, which we designed together.
It was such a personal addition to our ceremony, and we love that we now have a piece of artwork that represents our wedding.
Our music choice
Music was incredibly important to us, and this was Sammy’s remit. There are so many amazing wedding bands out there, but after coming across a ‘Sean Paul Remix’ by Ambassador Band on TikTok, we instantly knew they were the ones for us. They were so cool, had incredible voices, and their repertoire was unlike a typical wedding playlist, which really helped create the atmosphere and keep everyone on the dance floor.
Some of our favourite moments were the Garage Remix and, of course, the Sean Paul set – both were highlights and had the whole room dancing.
Geoff and the band were amazing throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond, helping us with everything from production and staging to lighting, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We did give Geoff a little last minute stress when we changed our first dance song just four days before the wedding…but we’re so glad we did!
Flowers
Flowers by Alina helped me with the flowers and table decor, and she was amazing. She took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and helped me choose the perfect lilac flowers that were in season and suited the time of year. The bouquets for myself, the bridesmaids, and the flower girls were all gorgeous.
Alina also helped create one of our favourite personal touches – an escort card display which had handwritten notes to each of our guests.
Photographer and videographer
Stories from Eros were the team behind our photography and videography. Their work has such a natural, outdoorsy, and whimsical feel, which we knew was the perfect fit for us and the style of the wedding.
Harry and Annie, who own the business, are married themselves, and I just loved the idea of having a husband and wife team capture our wedding day. Both they and their team were amazing throughout the day – they brought such a calming presence while still making everything feel fun.
We’re still waiting to receive our wedding video, but we have already received our photos and we couldn’t be happier. We are completely obsessed with them!
Extra Details
My cousin and Sammy’s best friend were our MCs, and it felt like the perfect choice. They had all grown up together at school, so having them as a duo to help run the evening was a no brainer. We didn’t quite realise just how much they would be taking on when we first asked them, but we couldn’t have chosen two better people for the job. They completely embraced the role, delivering the entire evening in rhyme and absolutely pulling it out of the bag!
I also asked my best friends to be my ‘something blues’. We’ve been best friends for over 15 years, and I knew I wanted them to have a special role on the day. They each chose their own blue dress, and having them by my side meant the world to me.
Honeymoon
We took a mini trip to Greece straight after the wedding, and it’s something I would recommend to everyone. We didn’t realise how much we needed that time away together just to relax and to debrief on all the moments from the day.
Our big honeymoon is planned for March next year, and we’re so excited! We’ll be taking a Southern States road trip, travelling through Tennessee, Memphis, and New Orleans, before finishing with a ranch stay in Texas. We’re both huge country music fans, so this trip feels like the perfect adventure for us.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
(Amy) – as cliche as it sounds, my biggest piece of advice would be to take a step back and really soak it all in. I had always been told that the day goes by so quickly, but I didn’t realise just how quick it would go! I’d also say to enjoy every part of the lead up and have as many celebrations as you can. You (hopefully!) only get to do this once, and the months building up to the wedding are such a special time.
(Sammy) – try not to get too caught up in the tiny details. Of course, they feel important at the time, but if you have good food, great music, and all the people you love around you, it will be the best day of your life.
