Real Jewish Brides: Charlotte on officially postponing

31/03/2021 by Smashing The Glass

Charlotte will be marrying Adam in September 2021 at Swynford Manor in Newmarket, UK. Click here to read all Charlotte’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Adam proposed to Charlotte on holiday in Cyprus (2) Charlotte and Adam met at work in London (3) Charlotte is a member of STG Brides Club!

It’s official, the wedding is postponed. Our countdown of just 38 days is now 178.

Marrying Adam is the most important thing to me, so now, I am a September bride and I couldn’t be more excited.

After 2 weeks of waiting to hear that our registrar is available for our new date we heard back and it is booked and in the diary. We have been so lucky that all our vendors are available on our new date and moving things has been surprisingly easy. A huge thank you to all our vendors for being so supportive and helpful at this truly crazy time.

Before the pandemic hit we were firing on all cylinders and the wedding planning was pretty much done. As I write this, it has literally been a day since we got confirmation from the registrar and with less than 6 months to go, we are back in wedding planning action and ticking things off the list again. Our new Save the Dates are re-designed and headed to the printers, the hen do is re-arranged, our flower girl dress has been ordered (it is so gorgeous!), my mother-in-law to be is looking at dresses, which are also gorgeous and most importantly, we are excited again.

I was dreading the thought of postponing and the idea of pushing back our wedding day, and our marriage to each other, was crushing but, the day we made the decision was the best wedding related day I’ve had in months. It felt right, my stress disappeared, aside from waiting to hear from the registrar, and I could relax again. Whilst I am sad that there are days ahead that ‘should’ve been’ like the hen do, the pre-wedding get together and the wedding day itself, we can now focus on the fun bits ahead.

Our April wedding was going to fall at a very busy time in our lives and a piece of me (a very small piece!) is glad it’s postponed. It feels a little weird to say that but, everything happens for a reason.

Here is to the next 5 and a half months of wedding planning fun!

Until next time. X
