Real Jewish Brides: Charlotte on Her Almost Wedding Day

26/05/2021 by Smashing The Glass

Charlotte will be marrying Adam in September 2021 at Swynford Manor in Newmarket, UK. Click here to read all Charlotte’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Adam proposed to Charlotte on holiday in Cyprus (2) Charlotte and Adam met at work in London (3) Charlotte is a member of STG Brides Club!

25th April 2021 was meant to be the day that Adam and I said ‘I Do’ and become husband and wife. Sadly, this day was not meant to be and instead as our almost day came around there was still 140 days to go.

25th April 2021 was not the day either of us expected it to be but, it was a day that we will remember and for all the right reasons. During the build-up to our almost wedding day I had thought about what I want the day to be like. I didn’t want to spend the day having a normal Sunday, doing our normal Sunday routine. I wanted it to be special to us and a day we would remember for something wonderful.

Whilst we had planned to see our family on this date, it didn’t go to plan and we ended up spending the day just us two. There were times we both looked at each other and said, “We’d should be married now” but, this day will not be looked at as what should have been. We spent the day spoiling ourselves and making happy, wonderful memories that we will cherish. Had we got married on that day we wouldn’t have the memories we’ve made and now, we get both, those memories and a wedding day.

Now the day has passed, I am glad. Focusing on what could have been is in the past and now we can focus on moving forwards and focusing on all the fun pre-wedding things we didn’t get a chance to do last year. Our wedding day will be the first time for us and many of our family and friends that they will see each other again after such a long, hard and lonely year. Our wedding day will be special for so many reasons.

Throughout it all we’ve had each other and we have grown stronger and closer because of it.

Until next time. X
