Real Jewish Brides: Naomi’s Wedding Planning Progress, Getting Used to American Wedding Traditions, and Mourning a Tragic Loss

16/10/2019 by Smashing The Glass

Naomi will be marrying Daniel on 18th March 2020 at Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus in Aventura, Florida, USA. Click here to read all Naomi’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) British bride Naomi has just moved to Florida to join her Venezuelan fiance Daniel, who she met at a wedding in Israel – talk about an international couple! (2) Naomi and Daniel were long distance for 3.5 years, until this July. (3) Naomi is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

Wedding Planning Progress

Hello and welcome to bridal blog number 2!

I’m very happy to report that some definite planning progress has been made since I last sat down to write a post. Who would’ve thought, I’m actually enjoying wedding planning!? I can only possibly put that down to the incredibly calming influence of my other half to be, so shout out to Mr Azulay for pulling through there.

Fun news number 1) – we booked our wedding photographer and videographer, Esmeralda Bodas. After seeing some Instagram previews of a recent wedding they photographed of Daniel’s friends, including some spectacular hora shots where the bride and groom are captured mid air being thrown about by their friends (!), we instantly loved their style and the spirit of their pictures, and I’m so excited to work with them.

A Hayley Paige Bride for a Fairy Tale Jewish Wedding at Longstowe Hall, Cambridge, UK

14/10/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish-wedding-Longstowe-Hall-Cambridge-UK
There’s not much we love more than hearing that STG has helped a couple plan the Jewish wedding of their dreams – and we’re especially stoked that today’s couple used not one, not two, not three, but SEVEN of our very favourite Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendors.

Smashing The Glass Brides Club member, Julie, a TV lawyer, and James, a TV editor, had the most stunningly gorgeous stately home wedding – and the ultimate wedding day dream team to bring it all together. We’re so pleased to hear that they found their amazing wedding planner,Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Louise Perry, right here on STG! Julie says Louise truly made the wedding day, and knowing how awesome she is we totally believe it – she was also the one to come up with the fab pink colour scheme! Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Paul Rogers captured everything SO perfectly in his trademark documentary style – we really feel like we were there!,

Back to that colour scheme – Julie and James kept it going strong in their beautiful three-layered marbled invitations from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor EYI Love, as well as their lovely modern floral ketubah from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubata (which the couple now proudly display in their home).

Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ambassador Band brought the party atmosphere and kept everyone on the dance floor, and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Feast by Ed Shaerf handled catering with his trademark delicious food (there was a profiterole tower involved!) and attentive service.

And spot our iconic smash glass pouch in the picture above? (They’re free for STG Brides Club members so Julie of course had one!).

Now over to the bride, who looked stunning in her super cool stripey Hayley Paige gown from beloved Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Mirror Mirror…

How we met

Julie, the bride: We met at a work awards ceremony. We saw each other from across the room and the rest is history.

An Inbal Raviv Bride for a Laidback Garden Wedding at Ganey Cnaan, Na’an, Israel

11/10/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish wedding Ganey Cnaan, Na'an, Israel_0072

Aren’t Israeli weddings just the coolest? From the chill outdoor venues to the cutting-edge bridal fashion to the stylish photography, there’s just something about them – something perfectly embodied in the wonderful Jewish wedding of Danielle, a recruiter, and Gal, a digital manager.

We’re obsessed with their perfect boho garden venue – not to mention their minimalist wooden chuppah, embellished only with a few simple white bouquets attached to the poles and some string lights hanging beneath the canopy.

And where do we even start with the awesome photos and video from  Happydays? There’s the emotion, the composition, the lighting, the creative shots… these pics are truly not to be missed.

Now over to Danielle, who looked totally boho-fabulous in Inbal Raviv…

Real Jewish Brides: Juliette’s Bachelorette, Bridal Shower and Last Month as Miss

10/10/2019 by Smashing The Glass

Juliette will be marrying Matt on 9th November 2019 at Ashford Estate in Allentown, New Jersey, USA. Click here to read all Juliette’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Juliette and Matt met in Hebrew school when they were 16 – aww! (2) Juliette and Matt are both Jewish, but they are having a Jew-ish wedding – Juliette’s dad’s side of the family is Catholic, and they want to make sure everyone feels included on the day. (3) Juliette is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club – and she calls STG her “secret weapon” in wedding planning!

My last post

I cannot believe this is my last blog post for Smashing the Glass! I feel like I am going to blink, and I’ll be walking down the aisle. I have loved getting to share my planning experiences and emotional ups and downs throughout the process.

With only a month left there have been some amazing highlights and some HUGE #WPWs (wedding planning wins).

If I haven’t mentioned it before the only real reason, I am able to make this wedding happen is because of my support system. My mom and mother in law are amazing and help with everything from hair extensions to packing invitations.

Also, huge shout out to my bridal party, especially Amanda, my MOH. She hosted and planned the most fabulous glittering unreal Bachelorette Bash. Then as always Matt is there keeping the positivity and reminding me why we are even throwing this shindig in the first place!

A Galia Lahav Bride for an Interfaith Jewish Wedding at the Pomeroy Delta Kananaskis Hotel, Alberta, Canada

07/10/2019 by Karen Cinnamon

Jewish-wedding-Pomeroy-Delta-Kananaskis-Hotel-Alberta-Canada

Okay, so today’s interfaith Jewish wedding just might have one of the most stunning locations we’ve seen yet, in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. It also happens to be the wedding of our beautiful STG Brides Club member Rebekkah to Jakob, so we’re extra obsessed – and so in love with the incredibly artistic images from Abbey Raine Photography, which totally look like they belong in a glossy magazine.

These two truly had one of the most gorgeous ceremonies we’ve seen, and while the majestic mountain backdrop obviously had more than a little to do with that, the couple’s simple birch chuppah adorned with white flowers, beautiful papercut ketubah from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Ketubah.com, and inclusion of sweet personal touches – like making sure their beloved dogs were present for the chuppah – really made the day.

Rebekkah, who looked stunning in Galia Lahav, also offered the great tip that when things are held up for whatever reason, use that time to take extra photos!

Take it away, Rebekkah!

How we met

Rebekkah, the bride: We met through a mutual friend and Tinder simultaneously. We had our first date walking our dogs along the river and have been inseparable ever since, and that was four years ago.
