Jewish Newlywed Spotlight: Eliana Marc

09/12/2021 by Karen Cinnamon

Eliana was a member of our Brides Club for Jewish and Jew-ish brides.

Inside Brides Club, I personally help you to minimize wedstress and overwhelm, and maximize your wedding budget. Oh – and every Brides Club member gets a free smash glass pouch (designed by me) for under the chuppah posted out to them too. Mazal Tov!

Come and join Brides Club too – for advice, discounts, community, sisterhood… and your sanity!

ABOUT ELIANA

Where are you from? I grew up in Dallas, Texas, but I’ve lived in Orlando, FL for the past 7+ years.
What do you do for a living? I’m a Mental Health Therapist.
How did you meet your partner? We met at my house! One of his best friends was my roommate at the time.
When did you first know you were in love? For him it was instant! For me, it was probably when I met his family and saw how much love and warmth there was between them.

ABOUT YOUR WEDDING

When and where did you get married? Our wedding was 11/13/21, exactly one year after our elopement, at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market in Florida.
What was your wedding song for walking down the aisle? My aunt, Hazzan Alisa Pomerantz-Boro sang ‘Boi B’Shalom’ by Shwekey. He walked to ‘You’ by Vanessa Desire, sung by our niece, Lovelie.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding? We invited around 175, and had a guest count of around 100.
What was your favorite part of/thing about your wedding day? There were so many incredible moments, but if I had to choose- my mom, Hazzan Raquel Pomerantz Gershon, surprised us by arranging a birkat kohanim prayer in English, Hebrew, and Haitian Creole, which she sang in harmony with my cousin Eitan and niece Lovelie. It was absolutely beautiful, and had us all tearing up.
Best wedding planning tip? Don’t be afraid to reach out to your loved ones for support; you don’t have to do it all alone!

Wedding vendors you would recommend? Lori Barbely with Tolman Media who took such beautiful photos. Danielle from Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique created an absolute masterpiece. Amber and Jillian from Laura Reynolds Artistry were so much fun to work with and did flawless hair and makeup. Patty at Arthur’s Catering was a dream to work with, and Karin from Hearts and Souls Event Management went above and beyond for day-of coordination.
Where did you go on honeymoon? We went to Club Med at Port St. Lucie!
What does marriage mean to you? Marriage to me means choosing each other and finding joy together every day.
Has your relationship with your partner changed since you got married? I think the biggest change is the feeling of being one family together. I feel very blessed that both of our families have embraced one another so fully.
Secret to a happy relationship? Make time for each other, laugh every day, and listen.
