What date are you getting married and where?  19th June 2022 at Tikitano Beach Restaurant in Marbella, Spain

ABOUT YOUR WEDDING

Tell us about your wedding plans: We are having a beautiful Spanish wedding weekend. On the Friday night we are having a family Friday night Shabbat dinner for approx. 80 family members, a welcome party at Besaya Beach, Marbella on the Saturday night for all of our guests and then the wedding is on the Sunday at Tikitano. We will be saying “I DO” in front of 170 guests overlooking the beach and the Mediterranean Sea with an Orthodox ceremony. The wedding meal will be non offensive, with the rabbi (based in Malaga) koshering the kitchen. We will be having a selection of Spanish style canapes with a few cocktails (including Lychee Martini) for the cocktail reception followed by a delicious meal of tuna tatare to start, grilled seabass with vegetables and sharing bowls of pomme frittes for the main course, tart tatin for desert and a doughnut wall instead of a wedding cake.

The party will be going on until 3am in Tikitano’s private nightclub and we will be serving 2am snacks of Mac and Cheese balls to name but a few! We will be staying at The Marbella Club Hotel for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. We have quite a few deceased loved ones who cannot be present so we will be honouring them by releasing LED lit balloons with personalised messages to each of them inside at midnight in front of our guests. Our civil ceremony is also on what would have been my dearly departed father’s birthday (11th June 2022) as a nod to him. We are having JJ Hodari sing for our chuppah, One Entertainment perform until midnight for the live dancing and then a DJ from One Entertainment for the afterparty. We are flying over Jamie Paskin as our toastmaster!

Dyana Dessar from Optimum Weddings is our wedding planner, Antonio De Perez our videographer and Nani De Perez is our photographer. We are also having Paul Toeman as the photographer for our civil ceremony in London (Old Marylebone Town Hall for the ceremony and then The Savoy for the celebratory lunch after). Paul will also be in Marbella at the time of our wedding so we will be having a post wedding Marbella photoshoot with him as Marbella is like our second home and we want as many pictures incorporating its beauty as possible! Our Aufruf will be at St John’s Wood Synagogue and the lunch after is being catered by the wonderful Karen Harris. I got my Hayley Paige dress from Mirror Mirror in London and my shoes from David’s Bridal. The bridesmaid dresses are from TFNC. I am having nine bridesmaids!! The colour theme for the wedding is white and pale pink with the florals incorporating lots of natural green palms as well!

What’s the most important part of your wedding day? The Chuppah
Fave Jewish wedding tradition? The Hora of course!
What does marriage mean to you? A lifetime commitment to the person you love and the start of an exciting lifelong journey, creating your own special family unit.
Best wedding planning tip (so far!): It is never to early to start planning and confirm your venue, band and rabbi first and foremost before the other suppliers.
Sum up your wedding style in three words! Classic, Relaxed, Chic
Any wedding vendors you would recommend? Optimum Weddings – they are the best planners and I am biased as a year after hiring them I joined them as one of their planners working on both destination and UK weddings. One Entertainment are also wonderful and I just love Meb at Mirror Mirror London for wedding dresses.
Dream fantasy wedding guests? Rod Stewart and Tina Turner performing live and then definitely Kamala Harris because I think she is a legend and we went to the same law school in the USA!
Fave celeb wedding? Hayley Paige and Daniel Wallis – the marriage didn’t last but the wedding was so beautiful and incorporated everything which is the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe in California.

What do you love most about being a Brides Club member?

The supportive community and sounding board which it provides. A safe space to speak to and seek advice from other brides without the fear of judgement. It is a place to create lifelong friends.

ABOUT YOUR JEWISH LIFE

Fave meal to eat together on Friday night? Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Veg and lots and lots of challah!!
Fave Jewish festival? Rosh Hashana
Fave Jewish food? Smoked Salmon Bagels (ideally from Panzers! If you know you know!)
Fave Jewish tradition? Lighting the candles together on Shabbat

FUN STUFF

Top of your Bucket List: Go to the Maldives
Perfect weekend is… A country get away to somewhere outside of London – beautiful scenery, long walks, great local food and some romantic us time!
Happiness is… Being alive, having made is through the pandemic healthy and happy and in love.
