THREE FACTS: (1) Gaby and David met at work at an advertising agency in London (2) Gaby is Jewish and David is Christian, and they are planning an inclusive ceremony and party that will embrace both of their cultures (3) They are planning an urban luxe wedding in a converted London lighthouse – we LOVE the sound of this!

Let’s get personal
It’s been a really intense but fun few weeks. With all of the major elements sorted or currently being sorted, my fiancà© and I took time out to research the finer details and personal touches we want to add to the wedding. We want our wedding to reflect our personality which is why we are taking it upon ourselves to make a lot of the elements from scratch.
I have found some amazing websites such as Etsy and Confetti that offer amazing deals and inspiration for those who wanted to add a creative flare to their big day. I truly feel that those cost effective, smaller touches are often the main things people remember so it’s important not to overlook the finer details!

Bridesmaid struggles!
If you ask any of my friends they’ll tell you I’m obsessed with clothes and always like to push the boundaries when it comes to fashion. This is something that I’ve carried into my bridesmaid dresses, or not dresses in my case. I wanted my bridesmaid to be comfortable and stylish, steering away from the quintessential bridesmaid look which doesn’t tie in well with the theme and vibe of our wedding.
I haven’t found THE outfit yet, but I want to persevere with thinking outside of the box and give my girls something that’s different and unique.

The food!
We have a tasting with our caterer at the end of the month which my whole family are excited about. I really feel like this will allow us to see the vision of our wedding more. We are also providing our own alcohol as our venue is dry hire and doesn’t have a corkage fee — a major bonus, especially as our wedding is bank holiday and we want everyone to let their hair down.
We’ve stressed to our caterer that we never want any of our guests to seek food or drink. In other words, we want a canapà© to always be in their hands and their drink to always be topped up.

The Invites
We are in the dreaded stages of collating address for our invites. Yet another spreadsheet has been made! This stage of the planning does however have its perks i.e. designing our invite. We are really keen to carry our theme to our invite and all collateral for the big day, keeping it chic and simple.
We want to steer clear of the norm and go for something a bit bold and quirky! We have also made a wedding website. We want to save money by having all our RSVPS online so we thought creating a website to house this, and all other useful information about the big day was a great way to achieve this.
Living in the moment
I really feel the planning has kicked into high gear! It’s an exciting yet daunting time because I know it will only become more intense. I am trying to take a step back and enjoy each moment because time is zooming by! I don’t want to wish the days away because (hopefully) I will never plan a wedding again and it’s such a special and fun experience to share with your partner and your families.
