From Tel Aviv to the World: Celebrating 40 Years of Galia Lahav

11/02/2026 by Karen Cinnamon Leave a Comment

Galia Lahav has long been one of THE most beloved bridal designers here on STG. A proudly female-founded brand with deep Jewish and Israeli roots (did you know that to this day each and every gown is handcrafted in Israel?!), Galia Lahav is known for creating some of the most exquisite, fashion-forward wedding gowns out there – just browse through some of the many Galia Lahav brides we’ve featured over the years.

These are dresses for the bride who knows who she is and isn’t afraid to be unapologetically herself – in other words, the kind of bride who absolutely embodies “your Jewish wedding your way.”

And we’re so thrilled that this year marks the brand’s 40th anniversary! While Israeli bridal fashion is de rigeur these days, back then designers from Tel Aviv were pretty much unheard of on the international scene. But from a tiny Tel Aviv Studio, Galia Lahav was born from the eponymous founder’s unwavering belief that Israeli design could stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s leading fashion houses. This was a bold idea at the time, and in some ways it feels even bolder now – but against all odds, Galia Lahav set the stage for the unlikely (but totally fabulous!) rise of international Israeli couture, in the wedding world and beyond.

A Global Luxury Brand, Proudly Rooted in Israel

What began as a local atelier has evolved into a truly international couture house, with flagship boutiques in Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, London (read about Team STG’s visit to the UK outpost here), and Tel Aviv. Still, the brand has never lost sight of its Israeli roots – and that’s what makes it so uniquely beloved by stylish Jewish brides worldwide. The spirit of Tel Aviv is ever-present in Galia Lahav’s bold, romantic, sensual designs, helmed by Head Designer Sharon Sever – and the world can’t get enough of it.

Team STG has been lucky to see Galia Lahav gowns up close and personal at the London flagship and at New York Bridal Fashion Week, and the artistry is truly above and beyond. The fabrics are luxe, the embroidery is intricate, and every detail is perfectly though out – and inside every dress, there’s a tag that reads “Made with ♥ in Tel Aviv.”

Dressing Women for Their Most Meaningful Moments

Over four decades, Galia Lahav has had the honor of dressing thousands of brides on their wedding day, alongside global icons such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Sydney Sweeney, Millie Bobby Brown, Serena Williams, Khloé Kardashian, and Simone Biles. Women who wear Galia Lahav tend to embody strength, confidence, and individuality – they know who they are and aren’t afraid to wear it on their sleeves, literally.

A Historic Moment for Israeli Fashion

In 2017, Galia Lahav reached a landmark moment, becoming the first and only Israeli fashion house accepted into the Paris Haute Couture Federation. It was a defining achievement not just for the brand, but for Israeli fashion as a whole – a global acknowledgment of the artistry, technical excellence, and creative leadership coming out of Israel.

Community, Craftsmanship, and Bridal Innovation

Even as the brand continues to expand globally, Galia Lahav remains deeply community-driven. At its heart is a commitment to personalized luxury bridal experiences, craftsmanship, and innovation. From pioneering corsetry and sculptural silhouettes to redefining what modern bridal couture can look like, the house continues to push boundaries for a new generation without losing its grounding in human connection.
