25/04/2024 by Karen

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and it’s a very difficult day for me having lost my beloved mother two years ago. However, I’m lucky that it’s still a special occasion for me and my girls – they love it – and I’m learning to love it in a different way.

If you’re looking for gifts from Jewish + Israeli-owned businesses that surprise, delight, and just “get” her — all without breaking the bank, here are my top recs!

PS Every gift idea comes with a discount code or BOGOF!

Register for our FREE Make a New Jewish Bestie Challenge – starting this Sunday March 17!

12/03/2024 by Karen Cinnamon

Do you need a new Jewish bestie?

It’s been a rough past few months out there, and a lot of us have realized just how important it is to connect with our fellow Jews. Between the atrocities of 10/7 and rising antisemitism, nourishing Jewish friendships, there’s something about spending time with people who just get it that feels so nourishing.

That’s why I’m bringing back the Make a New Jewish Bestie Challenge, running from this Sunday, March 17 through Thursday, March 21

I ran the first-ever Make a New Jewish Bestie Challenge last November, and it was so incredibly heartwarming to witness the beautiful connections that blossomed – many of which have developed into deep real-life friendships!

If you don’t have many Jewish friends, or a community who gets how you’re feeling right now, this challenge is exactly what you need to find your tribe. And if you’re lucky enough to already have strong Jewish friendships, you’ll want to join the Jewish Bestie Challenge to make even more!

Although the new friends and deepened connections you’ll make are the real reward, for a little extra excitement we’ll also be giving away two STUNNING Magen David necklaces by Jewish jewellery designers and two copies of the Jewish Joy Journal!

Get Your Glow-Up While Supporting Israel with FRÉ Skincare

29/02/2024 by Karen Cinnamon

Since 10/7, I’ve been making an effort to support Israeli businesses – and I know a lot of you have too. And by far my favourite find has been FRÉ Skincare, an awesome Israeli brand with cutting-edge products that are giving me that post-spa glow every day.

I’ve been using FRÉ products for two months now, since the beginning of January this year, and they’ve been a total game changer for me. My skin has never felt so glowy, dewy, and radiantly healthy – and the ritual of using these seriously luxe-feeling products at the end of each day has become such a restorative wind-down routine.

Giving Back

All of FRÉ’s products are vegan and cruelty-free, and I love their commitment to Tikkum Olam. They offer a 100% money-back guarantee for 30 days after your first order – no questions asked –  and they ship throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and, of course, Israel!

I’m so thrilled to be sharing this wonderful brand with you – try FRÉ for yourself with a 25% discount with the code “JEWISHLIFE”.

Here’s a more detailed rundown on what I’ve been using and, most importantly, the results!

Join Us For a Jewish Community Get-Together This Sunday, March 3

27/02/2024 by Karen Cinnamon

Every day, I’m hearing from so many of you who are struggling with the current environment of pervasive Jew hate. It’s really rough out there right now – but at the same time, it’s more important than ever to be proud and empowered in our Jewish identities.

But none of us can do it alone – and that’s why I’m running a FREE 90-minute community Zoom get-together for everyone who could use some support and connection from other Jews who are going through the same things as you.

The event will take place this Sunday, March 3, at 8:30 PM UK / 4:30 PM NYC / 1:30 PM LA, and you’ll find:

  • Connection, community, and comradery with fellow Jews who understand what you’re going through right now – including breakout sessions to share whatever you are feeling
  • Step-by-step guidance on effectively combatting Jew hate and misinformation about Israel, online and off
  • Q&A session – for advice and guidance on anything you want to talk about or share.

This event is free and open to the community, so please do register now  – and share with anyone you think could benefit.

Be My Galentine: Join Me for a Jewish Galentine Zoom Celebration this Sunday, February 18

14/02/2024 by Karen Cinnamon

Photo by Kristin at Fancy Things

We spend a lot of time here on Smashing The Glass focused on romantic love – but the truth is, female friendships are just as important. They’ve got a unique power all their own, and we don’t always spend enough time celebrating it.

That’s why I’m hosting a Jewish Galentine’s celebration just for Jewish women this Sunday, February 18 at 12.30pm PST / 3.30pm EST / 8.30pm UK.

Join me on Zoom for an hour of positivity, new Jewish friends, and fun – we’ll break the ice with fun games, swap our favorite Jewish recipes, fast-track friendship in our speed-friending fiesta, and raise our glasses to friendship with a special Galentine’s Day toast!

This event is open to all Jewish women, and it’s totally FREE – plus, you’ll receive a Galentines Swag Bag full of awesome treats when you register.
